In a Sekiro fashion, it would be damn satisfying if even for a moment you could turn zombies against one another. Watching zombies tear each other apart?! Use a few weakling ones against a brute one?! 🙂
Hey, I know it's an old one but Death Road to Canada is A great zombie game worth looking into even today. Super fun game. Close to one of a kind but similar to other's. Unturned is A good zombie survival if you like cute graphics with insane gameplay sometimes. Project zombie deserves a mention. With Halloween coming up, maybe yall'ins can have have sort of Halloween or horror themed games to discuss but sort of on the cheap and lesserknowns....anywho...just a thought. Codemonkeys 4lyfe.
Dead Island was a buggy mess that never seemed to connect to servers and would basically be unplayable. And I friggin loved it! My friend Andy and I spent HOURS playing this game back in the day. Def buying this sequel when it comes out.
I hope this does well and will force techland to up their game with dying light 3 which will force deepsilver to deliver with dead island 3. Competition between these two could bring in some amazing innovations for the zombie game franchise!!!
The story needs to be golden. Adding variety and parody throughout the game. Example maybe you stumble an alleyway and you see dead bodies that resemble the team of Left4dead and Back4blood. Just stuff to make things funny. Golden.
I think nostalgia from my time with the original has me excited. I remember some fun times with my brother and friends playing it. I really hope it’s good.
I am so excited for this game! I just love zombie games in general and was a huge fan of the original. It doesn’t have to be a great game, I just wanna mess up some zombies.
Really enjoyed the conversation, guys. The developer probably chose LA as a location because it’s so geographically diverse. There’s a major city but also beaches, small towns, hills, woods, lakes, etc and it’s all close to each other. It makes for a more interesting experience.
The devs said in an interview they choose L.A. because they want DI2 to resemble a Hollywood blockbuster you don't take too seriously. So, there's no better place than Los Angeles since a lot of people don't it take seriously to begin with, and/or have a false impression of that's been formed strictly by games, movies & TV. L.A. is also a city of absurd contrasts that also helps the tone they're going for as well. They also said, this won't be a typical comment on humans being the "real monsters" like all Zombie media does. They said, humans are the good guys. Period. There are different characters, personalities and conflicts, but we're all on the same side. In the end, they want the focus to be on having fun killing zombies most of all.
Even most studios that haven't folded have unreleased games sitting around. Valve has cancelled at least five games that were deep into production in the last ten years.
Arizona Sunshine made me enjoy a good Zombie shooter again, but Dying Light 2 bored me to no ends and so that was deleted within the first week. I'm hopeful this one can be good, but I'm completely on the fence about this one. One thing though, why is that every time the word "multiplayer" is mentioned, any attempt at a story get thrown out the window?
To be fair I am not gonna put all my hopes into this being good but it's better then some of the woke bs (saints row) they have brought out I will give it a go as I loved the first game Lol no change there then california has become a dump under Democrats and hey frosk how dose it feel to bring down a whole company just by your self as well
It's really not that fun with friends, everyone wants to goof off, when say you or me, who wants to be serious. Plus I prefer to play this solo anyways. People online are usually dumb and ruin the whole experience.
i play dead island on xbox series x and met alot random people and had alot fun. trend on playing with stupid as so called friends which are trying to be funny on mic and console partys is annoying anyway.
You guys need to adjust the output levels for everyone's microphones, one dude was talking below a whisper and the other person sounded perfectly fine, kinda hard to hear what the quiet dude was saying the entire time
This discussion, to me, is "tell me you haven't played Dying Light, without actually telling me that you haven't played Dying Light". Also, these guys don't know that Techland, Dead Island makers, made Dying light? And DL was obviously the game they WANTED to make. Seems 100% that DI2 is merely going to try to copy DL but making the story silly?
I’m excited. I thought they had just given up on Dead Island 2 and it would never come out. So to see that it actually is makes me happy. Also I feel like I’m the only one that thoroughly enjoyed Dead Island 1. Yes it could get a little repetitive and difficult but I loved the gameplay and combat as well as the story and I know they will do even better on this one. I just feel like we have come to a point with video games where we are no longer impressed by them. I mean how much more innovative can they be?
I really really fucking hope this game will play and look as good as it looks in these gameplay trailers, only thing that scares me is that it apparently is the same developers of Homefront Revolution, this character looks exactly like Lenny Kravitz 🤣
I guess my biggest question for DI2 would be, how will it differentiate itself from Dying Light? For what i understand the creators off DL were the ones who worked on the 1st Dead Island and you can see a lot off that DI structure in DL. And what they did to make DL different from DI was the parkour mechanics. So i wonder if DI2 will stick to the original plans off the series or will they add a new mechanic (that isn't parkour) to stand out a bit.
Idk what you guys are talking about? It still looks way too campy and cartoonish compared to first game. The first dead island is so unique in its balance of grainy grit and colorful but not too saturated. The zombies looked better in original. Dead island 2 just isn't capturing the same magic the first one had. It wasn't too heavily focused on multi-player. It had really good story that had tons of potential to build on. And I hate the fact it's set in stupid California and not on a island. Sectioning off a city doesn't make it a island. And overall dead island 2 looks NOTHING like a real zombie game. It looks very disappointing. They need to go back and actually look at the first game and remember what made it so special.
That delivery and quality of point “there’s garbage everywhere everyone’s sad and dirty” 😂 yeah I love good world building of an apocalypse like Bethesda
I rlly rlly rlly hope it’s good. Loved the first 2 and Homefront Revolution so rn I have high-ish hopes. Just hoping we see more before the release date.
The mp is going to like a more updated version how the first was n it not open world it’s going to b kinda sandboxe like broken down to to districts like the first one n like dying light pretty much with no loading screens it’s pretty much going to what first dead island and dying was trying to b haha just wait n my productions b on point trust me
Dying Light 2 is pretty decent, but nowhere near the vibe of Dead Island. The only thing that was really bad about Dead Island was that it was a bit sluggish to control. Everything felt like molasses, but that's true for RDR2 as well.
Wait? Dead Island 2 never actually came out? I remember seeing that trailer eons ago and thought the game came out and that that was that. P.S. Left 4 Dead 3 please!!
@@XxYouThBLooDxX It def isn't. It was a sad attempt at Left 4 Dead 3 and nothing more (more akin to Evolve 2 actually)...if it's not made by Valve, then it sure as Hell ain't Left 4 Dead.
Props to the editor here, I only notice the wet blanket because I caught it live. But hey, we can't always be a shining light in front of the camera like Emily
The fact that they only showed snippets of gameplay was a huge red flag for me. This games been in development since the xbox360 days. Them going with a CGI trailer just tells me that the game is still not ready, but will still release early next year as a hot buggy mess
I'm starting too think graphics have gotten too the point where we don't know the difference between cg trailers and gameplay trailers. I see TBH do this alot during E3 they'll do a gameplay trailer itll say the whole thing is gameplay but he won't notice that part and think it's a CG trailer.
XPlay used to have hosts that actually cared about video games. Now, we have six people making observations that highlight just how little they actually play these games. The points and observations being made here are simply impossible for somebody that actually played Dead Island. The Dying Light comment is a good highlight of this. It was clear that this group didn't understand the connection between the two games. Or games in general. Everybody here feels bored and lacks enthusiasm and knowledge about the subject they're talking about. Their insights are shallow and hollow. This is exactly the opposite of what Adam Sessler brought to this show and to game discussions in general. It's like.... Why reboot G4 at all if this is what it's going to be?
How can anyone be excited for gameplay they haven't seen, from an IP with such a deliberately mediocre and deceitful history? All of what was shown was precut rendered footage from first person made out to be gameplay, it was never actually ingame gameplay even once in the entire video. *Not one single time*. It's already clear that they're not being truthful. They've already lied before and it was so bad after intentional presale overhyping that they effectively made Dying Light as an apology to claw back some version of value for any remaining shareholders. Especially after the most recent Saints Row, Deep Silver being attached to this should be the only proof anyone needs that this is a fraudulent project with foundation as its blueprints. Anyone excited for this probably loses alot of money at carnival games.
Dead Island 1 was fantastic. I never understood what was supposedly deceitful about that game. It was exactly what I thought it would be from all the marketing and I was there from the very first trailer, which was obviously a prequel to the game to anyone that actually played the game.
Goat simulator 3s trailer was pretty funny, but its only because a lot of people forget that goat simulator 1s was a parody of Dead island 1’s trailer too. Its full circle
You're still at 489k subs and only averaging 20k a video after 7 months and a rebranding. How are you still in the negative when all you had to do was say 'our bad'? lol
They were working really hard at losing subs earlier in the year by lecturing all their fans as if they were all sexist trolls. I think most of us had our fill of bully pulpit BS by 7th grade.
What do you mean the trailer for the first game doesn't relate to the game "at all"? You can get to the room from that trailer in the beginning of the game.
Yeah it’s def in the game. But that trailer gave me way more serious vibes for the game when I saw it back in the day. I would say it didn’t relate, but it did kind of misrepresent what the game would be in my opinion.
Yep. The original dead island trailer made it seem like it was gonna be this depressing zombie game similar too what dying light is. But the game itself turned out too be campy.
@@BlackHippy313 it isn't campy at all.... The tone may even be more sinister than Dying Light. Are you sure you're not thinking of a different game? Maybe play it again. It's an intense game with very little camp.
Is this um like uh like like a sort of sarcastic take on like um like uh a comment where it's like how horrible can uh humanity and stuff get like I'm sorry but do they not allow a second take when they edit these? I don't wanna ruin the flow of the conversation but man that failed speech 101 right there.
Why are half the new people incels? OG G4 died and we only got some of those hosts back, but now that I've come to like the new hosts they're getting replaced with these socially inept peeps? The hell are y'all doing
At least this time around they are being honest with how they advertise it, which is: Don’t take this seriously Oppose to how they’d announced the first one, with a masterpiece of a trailer and a final product that was a disaster.
@@JDillander91 I played the game and beat it several times. One of the most fun zombie games I ever played. I prefer it over dying light. Don't like these emotional zombie games. Thank God it wasn't like the trailer
I just looked..as far as I can see this game is coming out on xbox, playstation...and Epic online gamestore...not Steam. Come on with this exclusive launch bullshit. I've wanted this game to come out for a while now but.., since I don't have a Playstation or an Xbox, my only option is either get it on Epic..or wait probably 6 months-year plus for it to eventually come out on Steam. I honestly don't know if I'm going to buy it on Epic...man this sucks.
