Game Information:
Dead Island: Riptide is an upcoming action role-playing survival horror video game developed by Techland and published by Deep Silver, set for release in April 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows. Although described as a spin-off, the game's story picks up right after where Dead Island left off, as the five survivors arrive on another island in the Banoi archipelago, which has also been overrun by zombies.

Remember what Kessler said? He said not to do anything that would help the virus mutate and they would lose their immunity. The mutagen did just that and now all of the people who were immune are now zombies. Admit it, the main story heroes are dead and gone.

Tempermental95 Now the thing is is that they didn't mutate because the tunnels. And you can kill Harlow without taking the mutagen. And it's purna who turns. All you hear are zombie noises. You see no blood. What's to say they didn't lock purna in the boat and just get off the boat? One zombie can't take down that many people. Bullshit ending for a lazy sequel

So, they know that those guys that just landed in a helicopter might be infected, and have a quarantine zone for infected on the boat, and yet they didnt haul that military guy in there after he was bitten by one of those they wanted to quarantined?? thats just bad quarantine routines right there.

Just realized that in dead island, before you choose to play as Ryder White, he is holding a German 9mm pistol that has imprinted on it, Harran, so during the outbreak in Banoi, Harran was still a thing. Also at the end of riptide, we see a shack and a person inside listening to the radio, then our boat arrived at to shack and the person goes to the boat, now I feel like we should assume that our main character turns because of the drugs we take to stop Harlow. What if, we were the cause of the Harran outbreak?

Its a combination of the music from the first game. Particularly the actual song-sounding one is the intro/theme from the "first" game. Its called "Who Do Your Voodoo" by Sam B. Well, of course, not BY Sam B, but its part of the background of the game that, that song, was written by the character Sam B, much like he wrote the "theme" for Riptide called "No Room in Hell".

Dead island 1 is still one of my favorite zombie games ever, but riptide ruined the franchise for me. I still play Dead island 1 from time to time, but I play dying light now. (as it has a lot of similarities due to having same developers). Riptide had a horrible ending, story sucked, and the game went by way to fast. It took me about 2 months to beat the original, but only a week and a half to beat.

To my understanding the mutagen brings out zombie tendancies, like rage. When the heroes used more mutagen to stop Harlow, they might of compromised their immune system, so they could possibly be zombies.

Maybe they turned after they took the mutagens. In the end, the knob turned (obviously) and I think that there is a possibility that they're alive or turned. If they're alive, a Dead Island 3 would come out next year.

*sigh* I actually enjoy playing dead island since I was 15 or 16 yrs old and even riptide as well my sister was the first one who pass this game on riptide, we even get to see the ending cutscenes. I haven't told my sister about the second one released on February 3 2023 yet.

Yeah, it was so fucking weird to me how they were randomly forgotten. Did they take already take Yerema to another location or did both her and Kevin end up dying in the ship from the beginning? Come to think of it, how did the zombies ended up on the ship? Was it because Yerema bit that soldier when she tried to escape? And i thought Kevi. Was plotting on using her blood to spread the virus around or sell it to terrorists.... So many plot holes.

Yeah, I figured they didn't turn or anything since there's no blood or gore, and I'm pretty sure they're just inside the boat. Though, they can do anything with ending so we may never really what's going to happen next.

John is only one of five playable characters and that means all of them used this injection. It is most likely that there will be another sequel and there you are going to fight with these five superzombies(probably).
