Pra continuar assim é melhor parar é respeitar a memória da banda, triste ver a banda assim sem nenhum propósito, nem eles sabe o que estão fazendo ali no pauco 😢😢
i think if they wanted to keep playing together after jello left, they should have done what RATM did; find a new vocalist and play under a different name
@@drownthepoor I was gonna say whoever mixed for them definitely did something wrong or had some serious limitation on the gear available. Probably more of the latter. That said, this bass-heavy recording at 70% speed.... it's not good.
Thanks for posting. Very pleased I saw this 😮. Was going to pay £30 to see them in May in Bexhill UK, but would rather pay a fiver to see a cover band do it. Call it a day guys and remember the good times 👍🏻
I'm exactly the same. I drove down from London to see Devin Townsend at the DLWP in Bexhill recently and then found out that the DKs are playing there in May. I was already unsure about seeing them without Jello and now also without DH. I think I might give it a miss. It's a shame, cos I've been a DKs fan since 1980 and never seen them live. I did see Jello with The Guantanamo School of Medicine in London in 2009, and they were great.
@@hedgehog1965uk Big Country next weekend with Spear of Destiny supporting and the following weekend From the Jam supported by the Buzzcocks. Two good gigs at DLWP in a row 🙂
@@65BigNorm I used to see Buzzcocks pretty much every year during the 2000s, whenever they played a London gig. I even saw them at a small theater in Bromley and had front row seats (yes, SEATS), which was weird, but it ended well with those seats getting destroyed during the encore. I don't think I wanna see them without Pete Shelley though.
@@hedgehog1965uk Seen them many times, including the original line-up when they reformed in the late 80s. I saw them in December for the first time without Shelley and was surprised how good they were.
@@65BigNorm I assume by "original lineup" you don't mean with Howard Devoto :) I know what you mean though. I still have my "Buzzcocks Live legends" VHS tape, recorded in 1989.
This is terrible. This does not have the same presence and energy that DK once had. This is just a bunch of old guys trying to cash in on what was once a great sound. It's actually kind of sad.
When i started looking at the band now, i thought Skip was Jello till i looked at the band's info. I still like this dude, i think he does everything he can to keep it alive.
The fact that he is doing an impersonation of Jello is the most un-punk thing I can think of. Seriously, they should deconstruct the song, change the body language and create something that sounds interesting. The fact that you are noticing the difference is exactly the problem. My opinion is that every band should evolve and reinvent themselves instead of striving for a close approximation of the very person who left the band. Having something ironic like Mark Mothersbaugh giving a Devo twist would be way cooler.
Love, love, love!!!! So glad to see everyone looking and sounding great!!! One of my forever favorites, play this sh*t at my funeral pleeeeease!!!! 🤪⚰️😆😆♥️♥️♥️
This is, by definition, a travesty. It's a joke, a parody, and a hideous defiling of the legacy. Old fat people who need money are literally playing topical songs from the 1980s. There is no new material. Their young selves would laugh and spit on them. At least Jello has formed different bands and come up with new things to say. Jello is not perfect and he has perhaps taken too much credit for the legacy of the band. However, Jello is 87 percent of the legacy. This new incarnation is the definition of the Dread Pirate Robert. It's the name that counts while the individuals are irrelevant. I hate this more than needles in my eyes. I hate it more than wet socks.
Jello seems to pretty much saying the same things he's always said when I've heard him speak. Also I've seen him do DK's covers with other old bands. I do agreehis doesn't have the same energy or vibe that Jello gave the band.
I think the song "chickenshit conformist" is very relevant to this, it criticizes this sort of lack of originality, this grasping to something gone. It was made by this great band, can't remember the name, oh wait, no, I do remember it: The Dead Kennedys.
Versione Soft della musica canzone Holiday in Cambodia its good one buona versione poi le performance di jello ed altri ok intrattenimento we are alive non siamo Zombie we are not Zombies 🙂🙂💫💫💫💫🎭🎭🎭
Have seen Hugh Cornwell on his own do Stranglers catalogue, same year I saw Stranglers with Baz……honestly…..enjoyed both for different reasons, but genuinely loved both…..things change, life goes on. Looking forward to seeing DK soon…..won’t be the same, of course not, but will give it a go!
@@mandykerr9956 Definitely no Stranglers now without Dave Greenfield (or Jet Black). At least their recent album features some of Dave's keyboards that had been recorded before he passed away, plus JJ's tribute song to Dave. JJ is still one of my favourite ever bass players though, next to Peter Hook.
Im seeing DK this friday and yeah i wish jello was still with the band but i appreciate these guys still playing even though dead kennedys have already been solidified as one of the best bands in history. Also ngl that crowd was shite. I hope to see some energy this friday
As a long time hanger on from the early - mid 80's, this pains me to watch. DH and I were stoner buddies in the Mission district. This is like a sad parody. Fuck this!
They are playing in UK next month (May). Message from the band...... "These are the first shows since the recent passing of drummer DH Peligro. The tour was booked last year and out of respect for all of the fans who have already purchased tickets, the band felt they should honour their commitment and move forward with the dates. The tour will be therefore be entitled ‘DHPower’ as a tribute to the 40+ years that DH shared the stage with his bandmates. Santi Guardiola, long time friend of DH and the band, will be filling in on drums for the tour. Dead Kennedys hope you will all remember DH as the driving force of the Dead Kennedys sound. The band dedicates these shows to him."
