When Novelty meets Treachery, the name says it all. Sean Woods surfing at an undisclosed location in Los Angeles, California. Shot by J.D. Stroud (Full Moon Surf Club)
The comments claiming that this is Malibu absolutely crack me up! I know most of you are being sarcastic, but I suspect a few of you actually believe that this is somewhere east of Point Dume! I'm also cracking up at the attempts to claim it as a "Secret Spot". I haven't lived and surfed in So Cal for 20 years, but back in my day (1980's & 1990's), every surfer in Ventura County and West LA County knew exactly where this is. I don't know what the kids are calling it these days, but back in my day it was called "Supertubes".
Both you are wrong supertubes is father north this spot is south of little sycamore. Use to sit and wait for the tide to drop to get first dibs but the internet ruined all the good spots
I almost died here, not surfing. My friend was driving and we pulled up to take a look, I was staring down at the waves and my friend took his foot off the break and the car started rolling forward. Right when I panicked he slammed on the breaks and we didn't go over the cliff. He was laughing like a madman...
@@triggeringusingreality4934 Yeah. Deer Creek used to break. You ever surf Calleguas Creek (Pt Mugu) East of the base? Late 70's early 80's it was a perfect right hander and could hold any size South Swell. Now the base is open. I've been injured for 10 years and rehabbing right now. Maybe by Mid Summer. Mahalo.
Looks easy to end up on the rocks. All those birds sitting in the slick at the back there makes it look like shark feeding territory as well. At least you don't have wobbegongs over there.
The link below doesn’t have Curren, but has prime years Slater, among others, at this spot. The whole …lost video is worth watching and is on RU-vid too. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IuOKTY-UkVc.html
I've driven the S-Curves of "1" a thousand times since '64 (still do), and I can tell you that Supertubes rarely breaks with a ridable wave. However, when it does, it DOES, so, for a treat, take a look at Dane Kealoha's incredible ride in "Amazing Surf Stories," leaning forward, and pushing, and leaning forward, and pushing, while taking his line from the foreboding rocks delineating the PCH. NOTE: SUPERTUBES lies within Ventura County, with the southern county line located between Secos and County Line surf spots; few people know this, but 90% of RINCON lies within Ventura County, as well. Now, the hidden gem of them all is Hollywood-by-the-Sea (Silver Strand), my home break, which lies between the the north and south county lines at Channel Islands Marina. HBS is the best beach break on the coast, and can hold a double-overhead with ease and finesse. It quickly gets rid of the short-order cooks..
@@KILLSURFCITY233 I guess I must've completely forgot what third point looks and breaks like, even though I was there last week. Oh well, if I can find any other video on the internet of malibu breaking remotely close ish to this I'll be happy
Why that's the corner of pch and point magu. It's so dangerous that I opted not to surf it even in my prime. I opted to surf better waves that weren't dangerous. It's a show off spot, where everyone driving by can see you risking your life for crazy head high dredging tubes that finish in giant granite boulders that will tear you to pieces.
i pass by here every day on the way to county line. never seen it firing like this. what sorta conditions does this wave require? (would never surf it just purely curious)
