My scooter worked one day , plugged it in to charge overnight , the next day ...... No Power !! ....... Step one : Check the Key Switch ! ...... Good Tip ! ..... Thanks !
Very good. I have a Pride ZT10 that is sitting dead as you show. Could it be that simple? 🤔 I cant find a fuse, so yes I will check the key switch. That may be why they sent a switch with the new console. Thank you.
On most scooters there is a fuse hidden in the control box usually located at the rear behind the batteries. If you are ever told you need a new control box (which are very expensive) before letting anyone charge you for one, if you are comfortable in doing so, open the control box up, usually just a few screws (isolate the batteries first) and somewhere inside there should be a fuse, usually a car (bladed) type fuse. If this has blown, replace it, check all the wiring is secure etc then fire it back up. If the scooter works as normal, you have saved yourself a few hundred pounds. If it blows again after fitting the new fuse, it usually will be because something has shorted out, or water has got in some where, but if you can figure out where the short is, fix that short and then pop a new fuse in and you will be good to go. These scooters can look complicated but they are so simple. Basically most are just a frame, seat, a motor some batteries and a few switches. Even the key ignition is just a switch and can be replaced with a normal switch. One good security tip if it is your own scooter and not rented, I suggest you buy a small waterproof switch and wire it in to the ignition wire (somewhere before it goes in to the key switch) then fit this new switch in a hidden place that only you know about. Then when you get on the scooter, flip the switch then turn the key to turn the scooter on. If you turn the key without flipping the hidden switch the scooter won't turn on. And seeing as all these scooters use the same 3 or 4 keys for all of them (for example if your friend has a scooter chances are that their key will fit yours) and these keys are also used on farmyard vehicles, golf carts, forklifts etc so are very easy to come by, meaning thrives who are on the look out for mobility scooters to ride off on, and probably have their own key, or let's face it, a screwdriver pen-knife etc will do the same. Some of them can be turned on using a 5p coin, well the thieves will be stopped because they won't know to look for your DIY immobilizer switch. So a switch costing £1 off somewhere like eBay can literally save you thousands on replacing a scooter.
Hi watch this video I have the same mobility scooter I wanted to know if you can upgrade the battery on it to make it abit faster or what to do to make it abit faster. X
Press reset switch on battery box, check fuses on battery box or chassis and replace if burned. Make sure battery is fully charged. Battery or charger may need replacing . If you have a scooter repair service, call them for help.
After replacing the battery - is not moving.. has power, but.. not going forward or reverse. Snd i put it on brake or on neutral.. is beeping, but.. not moving. Any suggestion?
Purchased a pride scooter battery and it worked the first time but wasn't able to charge overnight every night now it won't take a charge what happened?
On my scooter I have good battery but when I put it on it and everything is plugged seems like is dead When I remove it is a well charged battery Someone any ideas
We have a Gogo elite Traveller Scooter. We took it to Batteries Plus to get a new battery. I had him check the charging cable as well. He says he did and its fine. My dad literally uses the scooter 3 minutes a day to go through our subdivision to pick up the mail, and thats it. After 5 days using it he can barely make the trip back to the house. If its not the battery and the charging cable is good, what else can it be? Thank you
The coil in the electric brake can become weak over time, and as the battery voltage drops during normal discharge it applies the brake when it shouldn't. E.g. Fully charged scooter, accelerator applied, 24v goes through the motor and 24v through the coil in the brake - result is that the motor is fully ON, and the brake is fully OFF. Scooter at 23V (slightly discharged), accelerator applied, 23V goes through the motor, 23V through the coil in the brake - motor is fully ON, brake is slightly ON (due to coil no longer working properly). This results in a slow speed when the battery is not completely full as the brake is partially on when it shouldn't be. Electric brake coil failure can look like a worn out battery, which can be immensely frustrating as you buy new batteries and the problem persists as soon as the batteries are not completely full! Sorry for taking 10 months to reply!
@@peters2620 haha I couldbe been dead by now. I honestly didnt even know what this was in response too. We fixed it, I think it was just the charging cable which he swore was good, was not....so we got a new one...I believe thats what happened//
It seemsas though the overload cutout has activated. Si ply press it and it should reset. If you still have no luck try removing the battery box, clean the terminals and replace.
