I think that so called "fifth generation" of video games, the console era of the Nintendo 64, Playstation and Sega Saturn (and Dreamcast) was the best generation of video games. There was just so much out there for each console.
Is one of the worst to me in terms of everlasting apeel, even tough it had the most interesting inovating titles. My most favorites are 16bit and 128bit eras.
The first DOA was basically a raunchier version of Virtua Fighter (it runned on the same engine), the bouncy boobs was inspired by Mai Shiranui from Fatal Fury and Itagaki wanted to do a 3D version of it. Itagaki is a big fan of Virtua Fighter, his character Kokoro is a female Akira Yuki, Itagaki hates Tekken.
been more of a Tekken fan all my life, I once did play DOA 1 on a demo and probably the 4th one on Xbox360 but didnt really get into it. I did like Ninja Gaiden however. Past couple of years I have been playing DOA Last Round on PC and quite honestly it is a good fighter. Graphics are lush, the controls are responsive and the characters are pretty well made. I use Nyotengu, Ryu, Marie & Honoka-chan :P What do I like is how DOA & Tekken are pretty similar in terms of history, they started as basic and with each title got more intersting and evolved to what they are today.
That goes with every fighting game that debuts, both Tekken and DOA have their inspiration from Virtua Fighter. Of course the first iterations are basic in today's standards but for their time they where complex, they were basically betas for improvements in their sequels.
@JesusCristo2002 i can't agree more! even the 4th generation was alot of fun..super nintendo ..sega genesis.. i miss the good old days! i got bored of nintendo wii really fast ..unlike my playstation one, i still find it very entertaining.
There was a code you could add on the Dreamcast version to change the intro. I think it added in more boobs (ha, seriously though there was a real intro changing code).
You dont hear these kind of music now a days in games. These kinds of music you can only find in the classic age of when arcade games thrived and the beginning of 3D games. The 90s was pinnicle and the end of it.
lol...its funny because back when this game cam out....temco wasent even thinking about having clones made.....and all the extra things going on in doa 2-dimensions....lol this game was like a trial game to see if people would buy it....and when they did temco had to come up with sumthing better each time...so they kept adding to the story plaot...
