You know, Team Ninja, when I play on something labeled 'Normal' difficulty, I generally think I can expect to at least win fairly consistently. But then THIS thing comes along. That, and the AI is blatantly cheating kinda pisses me off.
DEUCE2CON You think that's bad? Just wait until you have to unlock Tengu by completing Time Attack after completing Story with all characters. *EVERYONE,* including the unlockable characters, has Alpha-152 as their final opponent.
Fun fact! They sampled the dramatic sound effect you can hear in many youtube videos today (and in oldschool videos too haha, you can hear it in 2:25 for example.
Alpha was so damn hard to beat. Made me want to give up. Until some miracle happened... I managed to beat her on the second try with Ayane. I know people won't believe me...
God I just remember playing the story mode with every single character, I had characters like Kasumi and Ayane (which I managed in like 3 attempts), some were ok and then there was Jann Lee, I don‘t know how many attempts it took me but I was losing hope and temper 😂
@Tkai Baker Although that's a good idea. Unknown and Alpha-152 would make for an awesome death battle. Matter of fact, I actually saw a Death Battle with those two in it.
And she's playable, online too. Though her damage is nerfed severely, teleport is reversal only, no wakeup attacks, longest float time(easier to combo against) and her strings are easily predictable with little mix up opportunity forcing users to improvise. If anything she needs a slight buff.
rtyrtyrty123123123 my favorite thing with her was when you were pinned against a wall, depending on the move, and she’d teleport from the wall upon getting up. She didn’t have a wake up attack other than that kick that Kasumi has, but I would always quick-get up and then do her RUSH grab (which is an offensive hold that beats attacks) to stop opponents from rushing in at me. I loved her in DOA5. Was upset when she didn’t return for DOA6
Doa 5 last round took her two guard breaks and unique sidestep which is just ridiculous. The bottom line is this she wasn’t a well liked character. Here’s my suggestion leave her guard breaks and unique sidestep also give her a wake up teleport when and only when pressured. Her offense is predictable virtually no safe move only two. If Christie can jaekio and Kasumi can parry even when hit then alpha should at least have those options.
Problem with using the full offensive is that she'll easily just teleport then pull out an OH to do half of your HP in no time flat. It's best to just let her teleport away, get some distance then do a running attack. Poke here and there, and if she holds, throw her. Hard. It sounds hard but really, she's pretty easy, like you said. TBH though I think the AI in general is easier on Hardest.
I finished story mode in Dead or Alive 5 earlier today and she made me her bitch quite a few times. It was an interesting twist to have her change into Hayabusa, Hayate and Ayane at random and use their fighting styles. Was caught off guard quite a bit.
Yeah, I think you're right. During gameplay the song adds in the sounds of Alpha owning your ass with explosive throws that take out 60% of your health. Still a sick song though. I HATE YOU ALPHA-152!
Had flighting games been based on horror movies, that theme would fit for the monster battling its 1st prey, who might or might not survive the encounter
I totally want this to be my theme in a fighting game. Hahaha >=D I'm the psycho that WILL do whatever is necessary to win, f**k all honor, rules, decency. In the middle of a fight, that all goes out the window in lieu of total annihilation of one's opponent. >=)
o well i alredy knew that then =). i just wish there was a way 2 play as her looking normal like how you face her but you cant. instead she looks like a glitchy training dummy thing but that works for me too.
The difficulty was higher then normal, the character itself wasn't the problem. Alpha-152 is weak on defence and teleports mainly instead of countering.
I actually find Alpha easy to beat now even on the hardest difficulty. At first she was a bitch but like Shao Khan in Mortal Kombat she became easy to beat. She only has a few preset combos so memorize them and counter them and be sure to keep your distance to avoid the throws. You could get away with full offensive most of the time since Alpha doesn't have any counters, just the teleport.
@TeKkEnFoRcE321 Shin Garuda(Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha) stronger attaks than the regular ur attacks do less damage to him hes slightly quicker hes a nightmare
Not to mention Genra on Very Hard. That hellspawn basically does not stop throwing any and every projectile he has at you, he blocks your attacks even if you do manage to get close to him, and throws you as if there's no tomorrow.
+E24K Lawson ah I forgot about Genra, I would agree with you but I do find Alphas constant teleporting and like instant 8+ hit combos even more frustrating lol. at least you could sidestep genras projectiles
