This game has the biggest chokehold on me rn. The characters, the art style, the music, the plot, the fandom (so far) is just chef's kiss. (I've seen so many tik toks about deadplate and omg how the hell are people so creative, the fandom is funny asf)
I really like how tasteless only really has the cello (?) and the piano, which reflects how Vincent perceives all dishes as simple due to his inability to taste food. Even if he puts tens of ingredients, no matter what he makes will taste like the simplest of dishes.
I love the emphasis on the cello during the chase scene, it truly feels like Vince is overbearing the room with your own terror. The context that Vince also plays the cello hammers down the idea of him being in control in the chase scene
Manon's image in the background is giving me mixed feelings, it's nice that she's here but then I remember the game lore Oh god her soundtrack is so calming Manon my dear😭😭😭
My goodness the bonus tracks are so good. Tasteless is such an opposite vibe than Manon tht when it first played, it felt like experiencing a long time dread and misery and then finally feeling something rather wonderful and light in the end with how the tracks were organized. Assuming tht it's Vincent's theme for Tasteless it kinda made it easier to reflect what he feels in living through a life where he could never taste the things that he created.
Yes! Actually, in the nightmare sequences, Manon's theme is played. I've reversed it, chopped it and distorded it. And in the final nightmare sequence, you can her both Vince's theme (tasteless) and Manon's theme!
Absolutely love tasteless... It captures Vince perfectly, the piano and cello seems to contradict each other. The cello has this hopeless, desperate, yearning for something vibe to it and the piano on top of the cello seems like it's trying so hard to mask the overpowering desperation of the cello! Love it
Absolutely love the soundtrack, music is always a huge part of why I'm into certain games and the ost for Dead Plate goes perfectly with the atmosphere of each scene. Played the game who knows how many times just to hear the soundtrack to certain scenes as much as possible, definitely going to be replaying this just as much ❤❤
Fun Fact: Vince is canonically *Measuring by game pixels* shorter than Rody :> Edit: Rachel has said this was a creating error, so no, Vince is still taller, but still, I love this error with all my heart
i'm such a sucker for fancy stuff, jazz and horror, this game is everything i love mashed into one and i adore it and it’s definitely going to be one of my favourite games. I think i’m going to cherish this OST and all your others until i die. Thank you for blessing my ears with this amazing music :)
The OST for dead plate is SO GOOD its hit all the homey yet exquisite jazzy feels of working in the bistro and i love love LOVE the writing of these characters....!! The intrigue and mystery of Manon's untimely end... Vince's full motivations... The fans getting to speculate and fantasize about all that could've been hehe💖✨ Really enjoying the mental image of Vince in his sombre and Unique apartment playing Tasteless (or yknow equivalent) with his cello (dusty boi) vs Rody reclined on his couch strummimg away at his guitar (I wanna find a cello x guitar covered songs now Huuu)
Really love how these all reference one another, but stand alone on their own!!! I remember one of the things that got me really invested in the game was how each day at the bistro had a distinct but similar theme! It showed how much thought was put into the work :') keep up the awesome work!
Since the gameplay and enviroments don't change, I thought that creating variations of the main gameplay theme could bring more variety and a sense of progression. Thanks for your kind words!
@@bellkalengar7412 ahhh that makes total sense!! it really did help to elevate all of the themes of progression, both gameplay wise and narrative wise, that's so sick!
I really like shop catalogue and equip menu they give me a comfort vibe💖 ...(hiding or making me forget the actual dark theme behind the game ...)and they sound so good if we increase their speed too!💕
Idk how but like y'know how when you heat polaroid photos too long they get all fucked up looking? Manon's theme sounds like the auditory equivalent of that, it's awesome
@@clock7687 Rody bought a lemon scented colonge, they spray it behind their ear, but Vincent loves lemons so he bit off the ear. "but with you..." sounds really gay, which he is canonically gay, but im pretty sure he thought rody tastes like lemons, but he acted fruity towards rody so we dont know if he likes rody or not 🔥
I think he likes rody not because of his personality or anything cause they JUST met eachother a week ago but i think he likes him for something else @@Mr_coffee1
Like when you're sitting on your couch with your eyes closed, just listening to and enjoying the music and out of nowhere it occurs to you to comment on this.
I fucking love these soundtracks. they suit the style and type of game so well. super calming and not too exaggerated for the deeper tracks. Good job yall !!! it's amazing !!!
This is amazing!!!!! Can't believe I got in on the ground floor! This will totally be my go to tavern vibes for my household D&D games :D Thanks so much for all the hard work! I'll def check everything out! What a great introduction to your project!!!!!
Tasteless is actually a really sad track. I was doing my homework while listening to this video and when it got to Tasteless I actually looked up and checked what song it was. It almost sounds hopeless and resigned. Wonderful job conveying emotion in this one because it really hit home! Edit: Thinking about it just a bit more, this is Vincent's theme, right? Surprisingly, there isn't a lot of cello in it compared to piano. Is it because he feels like he's lost his way, not in control of his path anymore due to his lack of taste?
game devs: Hmm "Calm Elevator music". Perfect! Now we can complete our cannibalistic tasteless bistro game which the goal is to survive from your boss who tries to feed you your now dead ex-girlfriend so that he can eat you to finally get some taste!
I really love the soundtrack for this game since music can help tell the story as well. Shop Catalogue has to be my favorite song, I like how simple and light it is compared to some of the other themes.
I like to imagine that Vincent is somehow still alive but hurt and burnt really badly, and that he's looking for Rody so he can eat him. I don't know why Edit: Why on earth does this have 100+ likes and 16 replies ._.
But rody sorta…slashed his neck with a shattered bottle of wine? And he also wasn’t moving after that so i don’t think that could rlly happen but hey you imagine what you want my fren :>
i've been putting this on to work to a lot lately and sometimes i get in the zone and forget i have music playing and i wonder why i suddenly feel so scared when i'm just doing my homework
