Carpe Diem! Seize the day! Contribute your own verse to the world!
You are amazing and you are worthy 😊
Keep in mind though, "Sucking the marrow out of life doesn't mean choking on the bone." Anything taken to the extreme is not good. John Keating (Robin Williams) has taught us valuable life lessons in this movie.
I can relate to Todd. I am happy for him because he found his strength and voice. He stood up for what he believed was right.
I just can't keep my tears from flowing at the end 😢
Society cannot accept physical death, but they are okay with mental death.

This is such a beautiful and heartfelt reaction. This movie always hurts me, its so easy to relate to it if you're outside of society's norm, whether that be being queer or simply having a hobby or aspirations your parents don't agree with. It is also so enraging that the dad still hid from responsibility which only means that he either refused to understand his son or that he was so convinced he was right that he really thought mr keating or "theatre" was at fault.

Mr. Perry saw Neil more as a tool than as a human being. He didn't want his son to make him lose face. Neil participating in the theatre was like slap in the face. Mr. Perry felt that things like theatre were "beneath his status". It didn't matter that Neil was still getting good grades. Sending Neil off to military school was like cutting off all his escape routes and isolating him from everything that made him happy (his friends, Mr. Keating, theatre, familiar campus). It was no different from Mr. Perry himself putting the gun in Neil's hands and asking him to pull the trigger.

Harrison Ford was known for adventure films, but the actor wanted to expand his acting skills. He got Australian director Peter Weir to direct him in “Witness.”

Robin Williams was known for comedy. He wanted to be seen as a serious actor (he’d studied at The Juilliard School). And seeing the success with Peter Weir got him to direct him in “Dead Poet’s Society”. Jim Carrey, also wanting to be known for more serious roles and following on the previously mentioned, got Peter Weir to direct him in “The Truman Show.” All felt that this Australian director could bring out the serious actor in them.

Nice job, Henry. Count me as a new subscriber. I think Neil's mother understood him, but she couldn't stand up for him because she couldn't stand up to her husband. Unfortunately, she'll have to deal with the guilt of Neil's death, unlike her husband who found a way to blame matters on Keating. By the way, if you liked Robin Williams in this dramatic role, you should check him out in Good Will Hunting. He won an Academy Award for his role in that film.

Thanks, Stevie 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction! Yes, I believe so too. Mr. Perry said, "You know how much this means to your mother, don't you?" The fact is, that's what Mr. Perry himself wants. Oh yes, I've watched Good Will Hunting 👍 you can find my reaction to it on this channel 😉

This movie hits hard. You gave a lot of good advice for people who are struggling. On the subject of needing a dream to strive for - or at least hope - have you watched Shawshank Redemption yet? Like The Green Mile you watched, Shawshank is based on a Stephen King story and is by the same director, Frank Darabont. I highly recommend it! (Also your hair looks fine, you're just not used to it. 😄)
