I honestly think what happened is that it came out towards the end of last gen and people were probably saving up for next gen already. I don’t know why dead space 3 didn’t come out on launch for Xbox one and ps4
I don't see why it has to be done with just because the loose ends where tied up in number 3. After all those moons could still be put there doing their thing. Consuming planets and shit.
I remember playing this game on hard mode with only the plasma cutter for a fucking achievement. such self torture. I actually had a moment where I was running in circles throwing a trashcan for 20 minutes at a fucking enemy. sad days
+Freakilizer I finished it in 10 hours, hard mode. Used the Plasma Cutter, the Line Cannon, the Impulse Rifle and the Energy Cannon. Best survival horror franchise of the 7th generation
I'll never forget my big brother's reaction to Nicole's jumpsacere. He's too much of a casual when it comes to video games, but he became somewhat interested on Dead Space when I bought it. Fastfoward 2 weeks later and he just defeated the final boss and starts to watch the cutscene, so he grabs his phone to start twitting about having beaten the game. I knew what was coming because I had beated the game just the night prior so I didn't want him to miss it. So, I did the only thing I could think of to get his attention back to the game: I made a face of surprise at the screen. This makes him leave the phone and right on cue appears Nicole. The jump he made that night is one of my fondest memories I have with him. It was just too much fun to watch.
Nine Tailed Fox - Sergent RedWood to be honest at the last part like 1 second before the jumpscare i burped and then the jumpscare came when i was burping and i was sick and my throat burns XD so yeah i almost died
+Harpi Loller Honestly, having half a second when they make eye contact makes the jump scare even worse. Because you see it, don't have time to register, and THEN it hits you.
You can tell just how much of a great job the developers did with Isaac's character, even though he never speaks in the game. Just look at his body language when the Hive Mind reveals itself. Masterful stuff.
At first I thought Issac died at the end, which I thought he got killed by Nicole herself, who transformed into one of those filthy creatures and was also in the exact same ship where she killed herself. Until I later read it was only a vision brought from the marker, which relived me, cause honestly after going through all that mess, Issac deserved a tomorrow.
i imagine well Isaac exactly saying that if he talked in DS1, and then he say "but it's also the case of Nicole... damn , how i would..." then a voice say in his left side "Isaac" , he turn in the side while saying "huh?!" then JUMPSCARE
For some reason, I find that brief scene where Isaac watches the video log of Nicole to the very end, one of the best scenes out of all scenes of the entire Dead Space games.
Because it's the one of the emotional moments in the Dead Space video game franchise, and the only emotional moment at the right spot-on moment of Dead Space 1. Because that moment was also the moment of truth about the whole thing being a twist that Nicole has been dead all along. It made you feel as if your entire work and struggle through the horrors of the Ishimura ended up for nothing.
For me, yes, it is the best of all. But, it's the very first instance of emotion, not anger, fear or shouting, but genuine sadness. Something human, that removes that slight blurred line that this man is you and that man is someone else entirely. Someone who feels something. Dead Space 2 wasn't so great for me, yes, the writing was good, but, Isaac with a voice wasn't the best reintroduction. I had more connection with him when he was all gestures, no talk, and fetching things.
that girls' death really captures something, how cowardly one can become when in danger. The way she said "oh my god" gave me mercy, even though she pissed me off by killing the doctor.
Probably the most depressing ending to a horror game I've ever seen. Even though Issac won temporarily against the necromorphs, they'll inevitably come back and he'll have to face those horrors once again. That and the death of his girlfriend who meant everything to him makes Issac one of the most tragic video game characters ever.
They tell you in the game, Tiedman found him floating around in the escape shuttle near the Ishimura when they brought it in for examination. That's when they realised Isaac had the codes and things for the marker, and at that point, they started to perform tests on him to build another marker.
@M4A1 Carbine Exactly, but he also was willing to sacrifice so many to get that research, and failed to see how dangerous it was when he tried to stop Isaac from destroying the Marker made on the Sprawl.
Czimback Gamer2001 Really dude? Wow! I play DS3 still even though EA got off the hook of DS3, Im playing classic mode to get the Devil Horns right now. You're not the only one who still plays DS
I just discovered this game a few years ago part 1 and 2 was great I did not really care for part 3 but I wish they would make a part 4 to end this tired of getting interesting in games and then they just stop making them they don't finish the storyline FREAKING TORTURE
8 years ago when I first saw the ending to this game when I was 11 and my older brother had beaten it, I nearly jumped two feet in the air from the scare.
Yehhh try plying the game in a 36 inch tv while ur 3 feet from it with 2 medium size speaker in max volume......i kid you not i couldnt sleep dat night i even broke my ps3 controller xD
Fun fact : since Isaac has been druged by the government on Titan he didn't remember ( at least at first) the years between Dead Space 1 and 2. So for him it was like going from *this* straigh to the opening scene of DS 2 with no break.
Guys I think it was sarcasm? XD also EA set visceral up to fail setting more expectations and monetization, co op modes ect with less time and extreme crunch it was a miracle we actually got DS2 and DS3 because they even had cut content from the first one ! EA suck so hard it is insane the market must be messing with them CEOs
that one wasn't meant to b scary, it was meant to b both a joke and a reference to how after everything Isaac thinking that part of the marker "escaped" the danger with him
So this game in nutshell: 20% of Aliens series + 55% of Solaris (if you didn't read the book or watched the film just DO it really great sci-fi by Stanislav Lemm) + 25% of Thing. Together - total horror. Great franchise overall.
17:50, I can't imagine the adrenaline and panic Issac was going though as he was turning on the controls to escape the planet before the piece of the rock in the sky is coming down to destroy the planet. I'm just the gamer and my heart was pumping fast when I first played this game and reliving that sitution. Great game, great franchise. Wish there was a Dead Space 4.
What do you mean they didnt? Isaac does have an animation of reacting to the realization, it was just a bit different. Even the same soundtrack piece plays.
@@ironictec9511 okay so 2 weeks ago me didn’t know that until just recently so yeah, also in the remake they said Nicole’s real fate will be shown so maybe? Necrocole
This is without a fraction of a doubt one of the best games ever made. Took inspiration from Resident Evil and Metroid, and packaged it together in a polished game with an unreal story. The sequels were alright, but this first game, Dead Space, blew my mind 10 years ago and still does today.
I honestly preferred Isaac when he was a silent protagonist. Nothing was particularly wrong with him talking but for some reason, having no voice made him, and thus the player, feel so much more alone. Makes it more frightening because of the simple fact that no one will hear you.
Meh, no silence allowed to get his panic from hallucinations in DS2 to get across better. Not to mention that he undergoes some character arc of letting go in a game that isn't exactly narrative heavy.
even in DS2, he was mostly silent when he doesn't interact with other characters. i found that frustrating he doesn't show happiness when he finally see "Nicole" and no anger when he saw that Daniels manipulated him in DS1. glad he will have his talking voice in the remake. the key is to bnalancing the moments where we're alone against the Necros, and when he communicate with the characters
For the people knowledgeable: 1. Who helped Isaac in that scene where you defend Nicole? if its just in his head, why do the necros also attack her? You do get pickups from the ones you kill across the gap so they were real. 2. Who opened the door of the shuttle when he was escaping? This doesnt happen anywhere else in the game.
@@luisthexux a few people agree with you. Comics showed the necros were levels above the old and most new zombie stories like halo flood. There were survivors on the ship, maybe someone did Helped him. But every necros in that ship died and turns into liquid stuff. ds:aftermath is an example. The death squads send by earthGov probably did capture the survivors and killed them as Also showed in ds:aftermath
Isaac was probably hallucinating the whole thing, including the door being locked, although I think it was Jacob Temple, who Isaac was just behind all game and he hallucinated Jacob as Nicole
The reason this game is amazing is because it's very closterphobic and the small details like background white noise and metal being pushed around adds atmosphere to the whole experience.
I was 17 and when I got the game, played until the first part where you have to run to the elevator. It scarred me for a week, came back. After first chapter, I enjoyed the game and forgot how scary it was.
I hate to admit it till this day but right when we got introduced to that regnerator fucker, i literally turned off my console half way through that chapter. Didnt save, didnt properly close the game and went to the dashboard to turn off my console, just paused it and pressed the power button lmao.
When I first play this game, there was alot of foreshadowing in the story itself, alot of people suspected that Kendra would be the villain when they think about it, if she knows alot about the dangerous lifeforms regarding the necromorphs and certain layouts within the ishimura which alot of people might suspect that she had a hidden agenda, given the fact that she was complaining erratically in the worst moments and when talking through Isaac through the mic she seems to be calm all about it randomly, and now when protecting Nicole from the necromorphs while she was working on the panels, when necromorphs do attack her, even in the hardest difficulty, not much damage has been done and many players ask themselves, is she made of iron or was she dead the entire time.
I really don't get why the Marker wanted Isaac to stop Kendra from going to Earth with the use of the Nicole hallucination. On Earth, it could've killed and transformed everyone into Necromorphs and created a new Brethren Moon.
That specific marker is sentient. Unlike other Markers, that type of marker is dangerous and wants people to "stay away" from it, where as the other markers sentient minds trick the minds of people to be taken to a planet of a place of life.
Dylan Paez I don't see a difference between Marker 3A and the two other markers that were made by SCAF. Also in Aftermatch, a shard of this Marker caused a massive outbreak on a ship which name I don't remember, and it intentionally caused Stross to open a containment seal in order to let a Necromorph free. The only rational explanation for the Marker 3A to return back to Aegis VII was because it wanted to start a Convergence Event and a new Moon, but because creating a moon requires its creator to be absorbed... well I really I don't know.
_MaZ_ nore of a sentient marker with a different intention. It's will to be placed back at the spot suggested that the hive mind itself is the maker and it needs to be pacified. But before that we don't know for sure because Issac servered the link inside his mind to avoid being "whole" aand esacpe the station. Another interesting theory is that Marker 3A is a direct opposite marker which had plans to contain the outbreak and no one else can be harmed which fits the 200 years hibernating instead of being a new Bretheren Moon already
Yep finally EA understood there is no point in remakes unlike capcom.I hope capcom quickly announces re 9 trailer I am tired of seeing remakes.Recently I heard until dawn is getting a remake but I prefer the original similar to ds franchise from 2008 -2014.Mass effect still has no sequel announced after Andromeda.
@@Klaatu6432 same bro, i hate this fucking era with remake everywhere. Dead space remake was the worst piece of shit i have ever seen, caracters looks so bad and they changed some scene thinking they could do better but they not + the game is not dark as the original so some place looks really bad in my opinion with this fking yellow light.
+Javier Alvarez Actually its not that scary, i played it alone and with the candle on and with headphones. It makes you jump some times yes but its not like you are scared to move on like some games are ;)
stuff4ever Still is everytime i play it scares me even more cause i watch how awesome this game was and that there will be no other like this one so...reality is scary...
Hey, man, thanks alot for the video. This is exactly what I wanted to see. The entire chapter without the action. Don't know why nobody does it like you do. Thanks alot, again.
I came back after seeing the remake ending and how the jumpscare felt so ineffective compared to the original. But that's the only grip I have with the remake.
Likewise. I thought the remake was awesome, but that jumpscare was weak. The original with the flashing lights and loud scream felt like it was meant to overload those two senses to really get you.
3:29 Is cute when Nicole asked Issac if he was really him... THAT’S WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO ASKED HER FROM THE BEGINNING! Since she was dead the whole time.
I know by the second game we know she was a vision but i allways thought it would be cooler if it was actually her in zombieform placed there by the hivemind;)
Me reacting to Kendra’s death Dead space 1: yea fuck you kendra you ass, you killed Hammond. Dead space remake: dang, you’re an ass lately for killing cross and kyne. But you tried to save and prevent everyone from getting influenced by the marker rip
Jamás olvidaré la reacción de mi hermano menor al grito de Nicole al final, el estaba en plan de "este juego no da casi miedo" y después de eso se ha negado a jugarlo hasta el día de hoy dice que no le gusta este juego
I’m looking forward to how EA Motive recreates this scene, this time with Isaac speaking and having a script. I’m hoping that the new cast is just as good as the old cast. Plus I know Gunner is returning as Issac, I know Tanya wants to return as Nicole. If Tanya is unable to return as Nicole, then I hope EA Motive gets the DS2 Nicole voice actress then.
This game will always have a place in my heart I remember when my cousin 1st taught me how to play it because I didn't understand the game, My favorite part was literally curve stomping every body
One of the best modern horror games of our time. The Dead Space series for me at least I always looked at it as what The Thing video games could have been like if they were made. Event Horizon + The Thing = Dead Space series.
Dude, when the lights went dark, I saw some lines behind his head that kinda looked like Nicole’s outfit so I thought she’s standing behind him and he really went insane. So that jumpscare scared me, made me squeal.lol
Looking back, I think that final creature was the start of a bretheren moon. The physiology of the parts we actually *do* see between the two seem to match up pretty decently.
