I would have loved if the new dead space leaned into this monochromatic foggy art style more than the colourful clean aesthetic they went with. I think Callisto Protocol nailed the art style better than dead space remake. Still, only 9 more days to go :)

I think pretty much everything about this except the Necromorphs themselves look great. They just look kind of generic ig? They lack the visceral (no pun intended) brutality and really just look like any other 80’s creature feature monster. Still though, great stuff. Sigourney Weaver as Ellie is amazing.

In alternate universe John Carpenter's pseudo-sequel of The Thing, Dead Space was only modestly successful film with mixed reviews that unanimously praised film's visuals and technical skill. Sequel was green-lit with much reduced budget and Carpenter went to more subdued tone of showing the aftermath of gore instead of gory sequences itself. It didn't mean Dead Space 2 didn't have gory moments, but they were built much more efficiently and especially sequence in kindergarten and school overrun by necromorphs ending with loud action scene was especially memorable.

The fingers lol, I can tell is AI art, but is well done, also the eyes too kinda off, one bigger than the other, when you see the pupils, is kinda off, and some hair kinda stuck in the skin and some stuffs here and there, sadly AI art is not perfect like we humans do, but is close and I give props for that.
