Dead Space (2023) - New Arrivals, Again 

The implications that Mike is the marker influencing Zach tells us a lot about their friendship lol

Isaac looks like a man who regularly gets 8 hours of sleep, a nice sandwich, and didn't fight his way through a goddamn zombie apocalypse while being driven mad by an Eldritch Abomination. Which makes sense why he looks so different in DS2.

My FAVORITE thing they added was, after multiple consecutive stomps, Isaac just starts swearing when you stomp which is EXACTLY what so many of us did when a creature surprised us and we wanted to make SURE that thing was dead.

It's odd to see MIKE be the downer for once, where Zach is all excited and enjoying himself. I also think this text-log was a New-Game plus thing in the original game

Isaac actually had some characterization in the first game through his thoughts on mission objectives, but you never had much of a reason to read them beyond following the locator.

I'm just so happy that Zach is getting a chance to goosh over about something he likes. I already have completed the game but Zach's reaction is honestly worth it. Spolers: Game is worth every penny.

Looking forward to seeing Zach and Mike go through the remake.

Seeing Issac’s character evolution to being into MILF’s is what I call modern storytelling.

Zach stomp an enemy repeatedly and listen to the progression in Isaac's voice as he gets more angry and starts cussing. Also when he's covered in blood take a close look at it on his suit. You can literally watch it thin out and run off

the necromorphs were messing with the core which was already damaged by the crash. then she stopped to gun down a necromorph putting her in the explosions path. my guess is they either damaged things while trying to break in or the marker knows enough about tech to attack the glowy important looking thing.

What I like most about the new old suit is you can now SEE that the thing on his chest is the hud the player sees. Also, the blood has fluid simulations. If you watch closely it slowly runs off whatever it gets on.

If you liked the Chen-cromorph attack you're probably going to really like some of the changes they made to the story.

You know it's nice to see a game Zach was looking forward too meet his expectation. Especially after Calisto Protocol.

Can't wait for the Deadspace 3 co-op campaign playthrough! Y'all are great.

Speaking of using the VA as a ref, they did the same with Nicole who has her VA from 2 from what I've heard. Also I already miss how the helmet just slides out and around Isaac's head in 2.

Making faces look like the voice actor's makes sense since voice is influenced by face structure so sometimes not doing it may result in this weird feeling that something is not exactly right with the voice acting

Have to admit I'm really looking forward to seeing these two go through the game again

I'm so glad this remaster is turning out so well, this is how remastering or successors SHOULD be. I watched the stream as Zach played Callisto Protocol and then the follow up video, it was so disappointing and I could hear the disappointment along side the infuriation in his voice as it happened. Now Zach is giddy like a kid in a candy or toy store. Everything I've seen so far they did such a great job remastering this. And if not for the recent playthrough of the original Deadspace, I almost would have forgotten Isaac didnt have any voice lines. The voice acting and dynamic they did for the characters so far feels so natural.

Zach, If you liked the original Dead Space. You're gonna love the remake. Finished my first run after 13 hrs of making sure I obtained everything and now starting my NG+ Such a beautiful remake

Fun fact, that first text log is an expanded version of one from the first game. In the original his dad is missing and his mom is still alive as opposed to here where they're dead and Isaac has been trying to get their bodies returned from the church while also having a mention of Nicole as one of his mom's therapists. I think most people miss that log as it doesn't show up unless you play new game + since it's a reward for beating the game. I'm not very far into the game either, but I'm really enjoying the changes they've made so far.

There are no node doors in the remake, they have been changed to security clearance, which you can upgrade by finding cards around the map

original deadspace had amazing environmental storytelling, and with this remake it still does but with the addition to isaac having a voice and some slight changes there's a good narrative as well with him being able to talk to others.

I am very amused by Mike being the Marker. Great video as always.

AT LAST, I am ssssooooo looking forward to this playthrough, all the new things that could be in the game for Zach and Mike to witness and enjoy.

Mike, one thing you should consider is that this game isn't just a Remake of the original. It's a culmination of the series. It took what was good in the other games and retroactively placed it in the game. That's why when they added things like background on Isaac, or having Tanya Clarke as Nicole and having Isaac look like Gunner, they had these things brought into the Remake because it made sense in the series as a whole. So yeah. It's also just super nice for those who are super big into the Dead Space Universe. Like Isaac having a less than stellar relationship with his mother and Unitology.

Fun fact you can find Johnston body later if you search the wreckage when your able to fly in that area, I know because I checked and was genuinely surprised you could

i got this last night and am fucking loving it. i had refrained from watching anyone play it cause i wanted to see what new things they did for it and its fucking amazing. it feels alot more fluid on how the story runs and how things are getting resolved and moved onto the next story point.

I'm happy that Zach is happy after the disappointment that was The Callisto Protocol

personally i like Isaac's face from DS3 the most. Particularly when he had the jacket in the intro sequence. The DSR face and DS1 face are actually really similar aside from facial hair.

Peng is in a locker in Chapter 11, that's it. Find her and you get your trophy, whereas I believe in the first one you got Peng in the trench there and you had to carry her to the end for a trophy.

Genuinely one of the best remakes of a game I've ever played. The only remake/remaster that I think can rival it are the Resi 1 or 2 remakes. Y'all are in for a treat

No, video at the entrance was in the original game. I should know, I tried recording a playthrough once and made sure to watch it every time I started over because I thought, "nah this is shit I need to start over." So I am intimately familiar with that recording.

I remember being gifted Dead Space 2 on dvd when I was a bit more young. I was both terrified and addicted. Loved the game until I got soft-locked by running out of ammo mid game.

I regularly flip between keyboard and controller, depending on the game ofc, but I dont have many issues going back and forth but I also play claw on controller so maybe it forms a good muscle memory.

I gotta agree with Zach, I absolutely love what they've done with this game. It feels like the original with just enough new and remade stuff to make it feel fresh for veterans of the series.

From what I've seen so far, this game does a much better job than the original in regards to how the Necromorphs are supposed to work. They're literally made from necrotic matter and cannot die; they can only be disabled, and being disabled is only temporary as the Necromorph virus takes what remains and reshapes it into something else.

I will say that I'm almost finished with this game and I've loved every minute of it. From how atmospheric it is, to the feeling of hopelessness around every single turn. Especially on hard mode! Oh man gawd it's so fucking good!

I played the original Dead Space uo to the elevator where the Necromorph gets its head chopped off, then the game softlocked me in the elevator and I stopped playing 😅 Glad to see the remake looks so good!
