I actually replayed the series just a week ago. Even though my favorite is the second game, Dead Space's atmosphere is unmatchable to most games released today.
Amen to that. Pay attention to the Callisto protocol this year when it releases from the original creators of Dead Space :-) June 9th is going to be the gameplay reveal and big info release
Looks amazing. Just don't overuse the blood! If huge splashes of blood are on literally every single wall, it's gonna end up looking cartoony. Blood slowly dripping from a body on the ceiling gonna build the mood much better than 10 cans of red paint
@@Rhodochrone Dude the marker literally makes people insane, we see a person who is bashing his head into a wall to the point where he's bleeding, we see surgeons laughing as they have parts of their body missing. It makes perfect sense.
I can tell Motive genuine cares about this remake. The attention to detail and graphical fidelity is incredible, yet still giving massive respect to the first game. I am all for it. Keep doing what you're doing Motive!
Im so glad they've stayed faithful to the original 😊 so much so that it's enough to give nostalgia for the first game. This looks absolutely incredible 😍
Please add glow and luminosity to the visors like dead space 2 and dead space 3. It would be a neat detail to add. Especially blood splatter on isaac like the first game had.
Looks awesome so far, guys! The passion and effort you’re pouring into this project can be felt 💪👍 I just hope the January release date won’t rush anything. Please take as much time as you need to make sure this ends up being a textbook example of what a remake should be! 🙏❤️
Same I don't want them to rush this series like how rockstar did to my childhood favourites GTAS like u said this should be an example how remakes need to be no rush
But these graphics with proper optimization looks like it could run on the ps4, but anyways this is pre alpha, so the graphics can improve in the next 8months
Thank you all for creating these wonderful dev diarys. You didn't have to, but you did. I really Really enjoy seeing how games are made for an appreciation standpoint. I feel a little bit a part of the process and on release I get more enjoyment out of the hard work you all put in. Thank you for your hard work.
Looks mind-blowing! But I hope that on release animations of Isaac moving will be more smooth but with more impact. He is wearing rather heavy suit) And yes,I suppose that his RIG should be like exoskeleton that increases his strength and vigor.)
I like how you can tell the guy in the background talking about all the tiny little details and the concepts of what they were setting for the level itself. Could totally imagine they had some concept art with a tiny little stickman Izaac and the engine looming over head taking up the vast majority of the overhead area.
I just watched all the videos. Thanks for remaking this game. It’s one of my favorites of all time, along with the sequel. If I had one wish, I would ask that you include the Astronaut RIG in the final game as one of the available suits. It’s the only DLC suit that is a unique model. It’s probably my favorite outside the iconic Level 3 suit. Looking forward to playing this once it’s done.
I’ve been waiting for new additions to the dead space franchise for years, glad it’s finally here. The first game is my favourite so glad it’s getting a remake, will definitely pick this up. And hopefully we can see more dead space in the coming years.
Loving it so far guys, just a few things. Go easy on using blood splatter everywhere it could end up looking like a cartoon in some places, and hopefully you'll add the loud noise when the engines power back on, even after all these years of playing the first one it still makes me jump a little with how loud and unexpected it can be.
If necromorphs could almost scratch at locations to trick isaac while more attack from behind sides or in front. True pack behavior. Or when grabbed and fighting now other necromorphs can stab and impale you as you struggle out. Really love the work thats been done here. Cant wait to see Zero G basketball or maybe just more Zero G zones. So Excited cant wait. Maybe incorperate Peng into a suit after finding it. You would originally find Peng and thats it, What can we do with peng now? There's Always Peng!
Dead Space is one of my favorite games of all time, the Remake looks stunning, been 10 years since Dead Space 3, so excited to play as Issac Clarke again 🙌😊
As someone who plays this game every few months I know this room like the back of my hand, The lighting in this remake looks amazing! I think the choice to use more darkness is great, really does look better considering the theme
It would be awesome if this remake had Dolby Atmos support for home theater. The original was one of, if not the best sounding 2008 game, and although not every detail of it sounds modern today, it's still a great-sounding game now. Playing it right now in fact, and I am hearing noises in it that I surprisingly don't remember. Something as subtle as a warbling noise as you sit at the store. I've played through all mainline Dead Space games multiple times (up to around 20 with 1 & 2 across all different systems), and I am excited to experience the remake.
The fog and lighting in this game looks extremely impressive. I wonder if this game will run on my old GTX1080, because dynamic GI implies HW RT will be needed.
I'm not super up to date on the latest developments in GI and I'm also too lazy to go look it up right now, but I believe there are some implementations that use SW raytracing. I'm pretty sure Lumen in UE5 is SW based, or even not raytraced at all. But at the same time, I believe they're working in Frostbite for this game, which - based on reports from DICE while working on Battlefield 2042 - is a Frankenstein's Monster of an engine with a terrible knowledge base. With that in mind, I'd say it's unlikely to change from the RTX raytracing implementation they did for Battlefield V.
@@The_Noblest_Roman At this point UE5 use both SW and HW for GI (lumen). Hardware GI in UE5 gives much better GI quality but framerate is worse compared to SW lumen. When it comes to DS remake, this game will be made with current gen consoles in mind, and both PS5 and XSX have HW RT. It doesnt make any sense to use software GI on current gen consoles, but maybe they will implement software GI as well for people like me (many people still use pascal GPUs).
Please bring back the confirmation start up noise before the engine fires up. Never forgot that sound from the first dead space. It had that “whomp” sound.
I am really loving everything that you guys have done so far, and I can not wait to skip work to beat the game. This game is going to explode in popularity. Please do not dumb down the graphics at release, that has always turned out badly for the game. If anything just let the players pick the graphical settings.
This is one game where I have no reservations about pre-ordering. They look like they're doing a FANTASTIC job, they're staying faithful to the original and it's vision, while improving it in all aspects. In the past, Capcom has been the standard bearer for doing PROPER remakes with the original Resident Evil, and then more recently Resident Evil 2. Of those two, I think the remake of the original Resident Evil is still the best example. They didn't remove any content, they only ADDED content on top of what was already there. They didn't alter the plot or characters. They just brought the game into a new era, with better graphics and gameplay. And you can tell that Capcom treated that whole thing like a passion project, like it was made by people who genuinely loved the first game and didn't want to mess with it. That seems like what Motive is doing here for Dead Space, and I'm excited because the original Dead Space can stand among the greats like Resident Evil and Silent Hill as an iconic survival horror game. It deserves the treatment it's getting and I will be playing it on day 1, hour 1 when it releases. Cannot wait.
Hmm did anybody else find the more lit up or bright rooms in first dead space to actually be MORE unsettling or scary. I don't know just like u know that something scary will probably happen cause im in a dark room but when there's a fairly lit room im like "uuuhh why are there so many lights in here like nothing's wrong?Something about just the lighting and atmosphere of the fist game made me on edge abd had me look around all the time.
You don't understand how bad I want you guys to get your hands on my favorite game blade the edge of darkness and do the exact same thing same game just new gen graphics what a dream
One thing that seems to be missing in the Remake so far is Isaac's loud footsteps. In Vanilla Dead Space 1 you can hear Isaac's fairly loud stomping sounds whenever you were simply walking around the levels. These sounds were important because it helped give the players the impression that Isaac wasn't just wearing a normal lightweight suit but rather a hefty peace of equipment that he needed to wear in order to do his job. Hopefully this specific issue in the Remake gets rectified before launch because it's a pretty important one for immersion purposes.
@@brandonparson8821 I know this all too well already. No need to yell at me in all caps. I know how game development works. 😐 I was just making sure that they were reminded of certain presentation related details in Vanilla Dead Space and why it's needed for the Remake.
Issacs walking animation looks like he’s in a hurry to get somewhere, in dead space 2-3 he’d walk cautiously, slightly raising his weapon like he’s heard something.
@@codyriddagh736 2 dont need anything. It holds up well, It plays well and its a complete game by itself in ALL aspects. 3 eh maybe but even then It would be better If they could come up with something original and give a proper ending to the series.
please add as many code doors and puzzle in the game as possible. check (Dino Crisis) of PlayStation 01 to get some ideas about puzzles and particularly code doors. can't wait for the sequels after its release. the people behind Dead Space series are among the best artists and storytellers in the world. i really enjoyed the original dead space 1 and 2 of the series. add visual graphic screens in the rooms with computers, documents, codes, puzzles, music and make it truly epic. Thank you for making our lives truly enjoyable and worthy of living with your great art.
One question, will Isaac be able to have multiple suits then just the one? Because when I play dead space I always look forward to each new suit, just curious.
Also, I must say that sound and ambient is way better in the original. There you can hear the "heart beat" of the Ishimura and it's louder in general, as it should be. Plus an ambient ofcourse. Please, consider this and make it right!
