I feel like most kids when they're first learning multiplication make the mistake of 1x1=2 until the teacher explains it. And it makes sense, it is one unit of one. But I love the idea that Terrence hasn't been able to let go of being told he was wrong once when he was 6. "I'll make my own mathematics, with blackjack and hookers!"
In today's episode, 15 minutes of game progress is made, but who cares cuz we get Zach going on an entire episode long rant about the most unbelievable bullshit you ever heard while Mike acts as the entire audience reacting to what Zach says. The best kind of content.
I like how the different countries reacted to the Death of Queen Elizabeth II, England: this is the darkest of days USA: who? Cares? Ireland: NANANANANA Lizzy's in a Box, in a Box.
Well that little bit about queen really timestamps when this video was filmed. Also reading the Unabomber manifesto while dealing with the UPS automated system is incredibly based.
Old Job, we shipped a lot of stuff, and one of the larger shipments we did had a way to monitor the package inside it. USPS opened and crushed it with a forklift, we called them and said hey this thing happened. "No we didnt do that, we didnt open your mail." Well how come the package is open and partially crushed. "Oh it came like that." No we can tell when you opened it and it opened at your facility. USPS is one of the worst for lying and gaslighting in terms of carriers.
How do you even manage that? And by opened do you mean they dropped / crushed it with the forklift and it split open, or they intentionally opened / tampered with it? Curious about what goes on behind closed doors, and the concept of having a remote monitoring system in place is interesting.
@@skywardsoul1178 i don’t know all the details of how it happened, all I know is somehow for some reason they opened it, whether that was when it was run over by a forklift or a palet was dropped on it. The monitoring device works through GPS and Cellular and tracks light, temperature and movement.
I think Zach reading the bomber manifesto to UPS got him on a FBI watch list lol. Also, I doubt Zach will see this but I know a guy that bought stuff from Japan and the shipment he spent maybe $1k-2k on it, never got delivered it was with USPS, he later found out within less then 30 days his stuff was being auctioned at a local shop that deals with lost USPS goods they sell, basically his stuff got stolen and USPS isn't suppose to release lost goods until after 30 days are up to do investigation. Anyway he contacted the postal general they didn't give a shit about this felony, so yeah doubt the postal general cared about Zach's package.
the delivery rant reminded me of when I was getting a mini fridge delivered, they apparently tried 4 times and every time I was home no one even showed up so I went "I'll do it my damn self" keep in mind I didn't have a car so I walked around to the warehouse pickup point behind the store and just carried a 35kg mini fridge 200m or so and got a cab at the train station close by (I didn't call one since that costs $5 more), the look and the warehouse guys face when he said "I don't have a car I'm just carrying it" was gold
@@connorthegunlovingeek7465 @Zach Hazard We're glad you guys are around still, and doing better. Never be afraid to reach out for help if you start to need it. Guys like y'all kept the villages safe and alert to danger back when we were hunter-gatherers. You're just cut out for a role our species doesn't appreciate or realize we still need. Don't let anyone convince you there's something wrong with you, it just leads to a tough life(even on its own) these days. You're appreciated.
I was thinking the same thing! I don't think it would accomplish anything, but better to pit the two opposing forces against each other instead of being in between them.
I feel like I've heard an audio clip where they had two different restaurants on a 3 way call and did it in a way the people taking the order ended up trying to get the other restaurant person's order.
I had the same problems with my post office. We told them we were contacting the FBI over their inability to not tamper with mail, which is a federal offense. They stopped losing our packages
Me: O BOY a new dead space video from favorite channel! Zack 10 seconds: *speaks or cringe math* Me with degree in pure mathematics and taught math for math for three years: PLEASE! IT HURTS! STOP!
Oh my god, I haven't heard about Terrance Howard Math in so long. I think they talked about it on the Rooster Teeth Podcast way back in the day (edit: Episode 341) and I guess my brain just stored it away in some deep, forgotten recess of my memory because it's so insane.
I got a kitten as a gift for getting my associates degree by my godmother. I was shocked to have found out that cats can be in heat very early so im glad my cat (now 6 months old) is an indoor cat
I avoid hotlines like the plague. Unless absolutely necessary I rather do it by mail. It's typically slower, yes - but at least I have legally binding proof of their statements and time to think up my statements and/or comprehend theirs. And I still spend less time on average with it, because I'm not trapped in 3 hour call queue while waiting for them to even acknowledge my existence.
One good thing about rural USPS is that if you order anything of 'industrial freight', basically anything over 150+lbs, it's a coin flip of either getting it for free or getting a refund. My snowblower got shipped accidentally and every digital tracker said 'delivered to customer' so when I did the same run around USPS didn't know a thing. When it eventually arrived the guy said he is the only one strong enough to lift it and he only runs deliveries once a month. By then everyone had already refunded my money because USPS just didn't bother to track packages above a certain weight.
tbf the main reason people get thrown when hit by lightning is cause all their muscles contract like a giant rubber band so necromorps suddenly flung across the room on death makes some sense especially if they were already running that way.
Yeah i wished other organizations used them. I ordered one of those limited time offer pins from sharkrobot and i never received it. Couldn't even get a refund because i never got the email in time. It wasnt even a "youll have to wait months for it to be made" because they had a number of them already manufactured to be shipped. Its been over a year and i likely will never get them which sucks. First time Fedex ever screwed me over
As someone who's worked at UPS we see fragile and go "hmmm FRA-GI-LAY... must be Italian" and yeet the box 30ft left down the slide before we put it in the truck
The unibomber's manifesto is a good case of separating the author from the stuff they create. It has some unfathomably based takes on the world in general.
He was incredibly accurate on just how bad technology would be on society as a whole. But, as a guy with sleep apnea, I REALLY don't want to be in a world where I don't have access to a CPAP.
@@jefferymosdell2490 and Zach, with his allergies, really would not want to live in a world where we don't have the technology, and agricultural and culinary know-how, to make gluten-free foods. The Unabomber is basically the equalivent of a kid who grew up getting called slurs online and then saying "technology caused this!" Without realizing that technology is what probably allowed him to not be a stillbirth or kill his mom during childbirth.
In the UK thankfully we don't have to do our own taxes, they do it for us. The only people who do have to file returns are self employed business owners and partners in business partnerships. Which I assume are the two easiest ways to fudge the numbers for. And therefore are double checked
Considering this had some automated call and call centre tips I'll give y'all one of the better ones, when you get a spam call from wherever and they ask if they can record the call don't give them permission, it's the instant reaction to say yes once you're already in, but it shuts down everything if you say no, I've found I've received less spam calls too since I started doing it so it might go on their list I dunno.
Zach's way of remembering what is 7x7 is an actual way of learning words from foreign languages that some schools teach where you can learn speed reading and mnemonic techniques You have a word, you associate it with something and you have a quick, dumb lil story that makes it much easier to remember
I love how Mike descibing his cat is basically what I'm currently dealing with. Just got a male kitten whose just getting over being sick and oml he his a spaz and I hope he mellows out when he gets fixed.
Update no one wanted on my cat since I forgot I commented this. I constantly have scratch marks from this cat but I would die for him. He did mellow out a little but he still has his moments lol
I remember 7x7=49 because when I was learning multiplication as a kid my Nan would always say it was her age. It definitely wasn't but it was always a good memory with my Nan so I never forgot it ❤️
I love how he openly says 'im already off on a tangent' and then, he keeps going with the tangent instead of cutting it off, AMD THEN, HE GOES OFF ON MORE TANGENTS.
Fun fact: many IVR systems flag swear words while you're in the que and will escalate you through the line. Just sit there and swear constantly while you're waiting. It'll be like "we estimate our wait time is 56 minutes". Suddenly you're on the line with a human in 23 minutes. And yes, I worked for a large service provider, they didn't like to admit it, but they would, and it was concerned by customers. I had a wait time estimation screen just beyond my desk and it would be WAY off for pissed off and well informed customers. PLEASE TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF THIS. The calm people can wait 😏 Edit: fuckshitpissfuckass of course Zach knows this and said it 😂 hadn't got to that point 😂
Star Wars Starfighter has a problem like that. The screen shake when you get hit is tied to frame rate, so if you're running at 60 or 120, you will go absolutely fucking nuts and spin out of control while getting disoriented by rapid movement whenever you get hit by any enemy. It makes aiming and flying impossible, so you have to find a way to lock it at a lower one.
About those smashed packages. I worked part-time at delivery company loading semi's with packages. We were overloaded with packages a lot. So you can imagine that we weren't exactly gentle with them. Twice as much if they were heavy. But I'm from Czech Republic so I don't know if it works the same in the US.
Pretty similar, in the USPS everything gets stuck in 6 foot cardboard boxes and put in semis, which are ratcheted down with straps, things get crushed during.
I can’t believe Zack dropped that “We took the British 13 colonies didnt we” and kept on talking about his other tangent like he dropped one of the craziest one liners of the whole channel lmao
Oh, Zack. I feel your PAIN when it comes to FedEx. They sometimes don't even send packages until they get enough at once to do so. I'll sometimes have a package be in Salt Lake City for TEN DAYS before they send it out for delivery!
In the UK it's even easier to do taxes if you're an employee of a company. Government just takes the money straight out of your paycheck. No paperwork required. You get the amount taxed listed on your paycheck so if you think it's wrong you can appeal it which is where the bureaucratic grind comes in.
No they do that here in the US too, but then you are legally required to double-check their math and send in a form about it. But when you get hired at a new company you have to guess what percent of your income will pay off your annual taxes yourself, and so at the end of the year you're never right. A huge number of people get multiple thousands back in over-payment refund, even after electing the minimum legal deduction from each paycheck. It's all because big corporate tax accountant firms lobby congress to prevent any reform of the system, so that way you have to hire an accountant or buy new tax-accountant software every year.
@@PlebNC In all fairness, this never would have happened under the Crown, as evidenced by the fact that your tax system isn't fucked in exactly the same way. You guys did miss out on trillions in national debt though, so good on you for that one.
I'm going to be honest. Out of all the delivery options I've had and experienced the best one so far has been Amazon doing the delivery themselves. FedEx and UPS have damaged products but never to the point they were unusable. The US Postal Service can suck a dick. USPS is by far the worst option for delivering anything ever. USPS broke my Titan. My first ever Titan I was supposed to get for 40K and I swear it was the carrier but somebody like stomped on my package and as a result most of the major pieces for the Titan were destroyed. Those are like $200. Still not the worst thing they've broken. This is still fresh in my mind cuz it was like last month that USPS like jumped on my package containing a pair of Sennheiser HD 800s and for those who don't know this those are almost two grand in US dollars. That is what you get with US Postal Service you are just fucked and there's nothing you can do about it because a lot of places only use USPS now because the government keeps pushing money into them which pisses me off even more.
Yeah, like I try to send out a package using the usps cuz I used them for my passport. I went to send it out and every time it goes out it always gets sent back a few weeks later. I gave them money, I can’t get a refund. It’s nothing I was able to do
Man I had the opposite experience with FedEx this week. I bought something on ebay that shipped from Lithuania. Picked up at 10AM local time over there, and two days later at 10AM my time it was on my porch here in the USA. Exactly 48 hours, without accounting for time zones. Amazing.
Every carrier service used to pelt my door with anything that wasn’t a letter simply bc they didn’t want to open my small patio gate and just chuck it into my door.
I, to this day, still know the 9 times table. But only backwards for some reason. On the note of framerate: Higher framerate causing the game to go wonky reminds me of Ace Combat on the PSP. It's locked to 30 but any higher and the planes there just jettisoned across the map.
The most tragic thing about the queen's death is that she was only four years away from being able to write herself a letter, if that had been me I'd be furious.
Here a lot of shipping of small-ish items to people's houses is done via drive-by, they just toss your shit out the truck window so once you get the notification something has been delivered you go look for it outside and hope the electronic parts did not end up in the drainage ditch.
A friend of mine has the EXACT same kind of issues with their local post office....And if you have the AUDACITY to complain to the higher offices....they get WORSE...you NEVER receive your mail at that point...Which is supposed to be a FEDERAL CRIME.
It's not so much the "screw the school, I aint paying for pencils" it's the "we've raised taxes every year for the past 6 years to pay for pencils, but the money keeps being diverted into the general fund cuz the politicians voted to give themselves raises with it instead."
Don’t worry Zach, our taxes in Canada are pretty much the same as you described. It pretty much boils down to “yeah double check our work, but if you don’t we will throw you in jail.” I deliberately overpay on my taxes to make sure I get a decent return/make sure I don’t owe anything every year
For even faster workarounds to automated systems, if it has number options just press a number that does nothing 3 or so times and it will connect to a person.
Had a party at a friends house and we are in the back yard music blaring watching the fed ex guy walking up to the front door with the “no one home” notice and no package.
Zach, I had the EXACT SAME THING happen to a package. I bought the Spider-Man Omnibus 1# from B&N online and had UPS deliver it and give it to my post office. UPS lost my package and just kept delaying the arrival date to my house day after day. Then I had to go to my post office and the attendant/worker looked and let me know the rest of the items they had with it came but not my package. I had to wait a week and get another copy sent out by B&N. And they outsource there help lines so that was fun. You aren't alone with this BULLSHIT Zach!
Weirdly enough I was actually taught how to do taxes in school. However I did not choose that class. It was an elective and then they put some of the most annoying assholes in there. It’s one of those classes that people don’t want but put anyone in there
Oddly enough when I ordered my ps5 I stayed by my door to sign for it from fedex I went to the bathroom then when I came out, it was sitting on my doorstep, Didn’t have to sign for it, but the website said I signed for it
