The fact that us veteran Dead Space fans are finally seeing new Dead Space content after 8 freaking years since the last third game makes me wanna cry from joy😭
Must be nice for y'all. I'm unfortunately a Valve fan and Rockstar fan so we all know that I won't get an announcement soon. Regardless, I'm glad to finally see Dead Space again.
Omg the nostalgia of me being scared shitless at 12 years old. Honestly this time was the PEAK of gaming for me. These were some of the best most fun games to come out and too many people just play online shooters. This is a true horror survival classic
Hearing Gunner Write finally being able to go full circle and voice Isaac in all 3 games is a thing I never thought I would see. Bravo Dev team, bravo.
Everything about this game is amazing. The sound effects, the atmosphere, the voice acting, the upgrades and game mechanics...all of it. Definitely picking this up!
Dead space is truly a horror classic. For it to finally get the love it deserves, is well overdue. I replayed this so many times. This going to be epic.
It's not getting any love, EA is trying to avoid work and royalty payments since the original devs of Deadspace who actually made it great are near completing the Callisto Protocol, a spiritual successor to their long lost DS concept. EA wants to draw attention away from them because they know they cant have it after they intentionally killed off the original studio for DS.
Too bad it looks like we won't ever see what happened after Dead Space 3. There's a lot of material that could have been used to fight off the brethren moons.
I'm so, so happy to hear Gunner Wright as Isaac. He just brings so much personality to the character and this was part of the reason why I just adore Dead Space 2 and prefer to the OG. There's still work to be done but I'm so excited for this, man.
This is the most creative horror game I have ever played, glad that it gets a remake. I do not know of it's me, but I kinda feel like older graphics also make games darker and scarier so I recommend playing the original game too before playing the remake.
As a longtime fan of the first two Dead Spaces, it’s so awesome to see such a sudden resurgence in hype for the series stemming from this remake and the Callisto Protocol. Dead Space 2 is among my favorite games ever, and it’s cool to see that some of the improvements, like the zero g movement, appear to be working their way into the original. I really hope this series, appropriately, rises again as something new and evolved out from the carcass EA left behind.
Out of all the games coming out from now till March Dead Space Remake is what I'm most hype for. It looks great and you can tell the devs at Motive took their job seriously.
@@ProjectRealityV1 I know about the Callisto Protocol being developed by Striking Distance Studios and Glen Schofield the same guy that made the original Dead Space. I'm still more excited for Dead Space Remake.
From what I've seen in the trailer, it looks like: - some meshes were improved - textures sharpened/replaced - visual effect quality improved - modern post-processing effects were added I hope they do more before re-releasing such an iconic title.
If you watch some of the commentary theyve done alot more than i can list they made Zero G mivement mote like DS2 and DS3, they added more visual damage to the necromorphs where your shots will peel off flesh and muscle, they reworked most of the guns, added in areas that were cut from the original game and cut necromorphs
And they added an syatem in where issac will sound diffrently when talking depending on how injured he is or exhausted he is from running. There isnt a whole lot to add or do but it feels like they nailed it outta the ball park already
You forgot the big fact that Isaac *never talked* in the 1st game. In this remake, they implemented a system called A.L.I.V.E which, aside from making him talk (which is already a big improvement), will bring different variations of his scripted dialogue depending on how healthy he is. Look up the IGN article about it and watch the demo video, it's seriously immersive and impressive.
Freeze analysis. 1:40 There are heads inside the leg grabbing tentacle. Plus whoever's idea was to add bones to these things is a genius. Disgusting. 1:28 Blood just pours out of that thing. Disgusting. 0:22 Health bar is visually warped by the gravity tether behind it. Beutiful. 0:26 The centrifuge has multiple floors. 1:02 While in stasis the color of the necromorph turns into an unnatural blue with strange blue bolt like particles covering it (normal lightning has a total white colour most of the time). Also the unnatural divide between the blue necromorph and the completely normal background feels a bit hard on the eyes. 1:12 The are where you run across the ship's exterior while covering from asteroids is completely different. With the jetpack it might be possible to fly outside of the chasm, although perhaps deadly. The debris in the bottom right corner that appears to be flying around strangely is actually from an explosion, probably by an asteroid just like at the end of the clip. 0:30 Somehow on this dirty bed that is visibly decayed, in an enviroment that is the definition of subtle decay, this guy manages to swirl around in pain while keeping his suit completely clean of any visible filth, his shoes are more clean than the floor. Whenever there is a living person on screen that isn't Isaac, they seem far too clean. 1:24 Look at the amount of blood and dirt on Isaac's back. 1:21 The entire room suddenly goest hrough the roof in terms of brightness. This goes to show how dynamic the lighting will be. All the enviroments look absolutely gorgeous. Sound design is exactly like it was back then, likely better. Lighting goes together with the enviroment is also on point. Levels were rebuilt and changed, I'm looking forward to walking through a different Ishimura that still has the same feeling.
Since I heard the first was being remade have been working my way through the original trilogy. Still to this day the graphics/mechanics/audio are amazing. Very few games make my heart pound when it is dead silent and you hear something moving around in the vents. Then BOOM heart attack.
One of the greatest games of all time. I played this series even though i don't enjoy horror games (i like space stuff) and i hope the franchise makes an official comeback with more remakes and sequels.
You guys did such an AMAZING job Remaking this. Please please PLEASEEE Remake Dead Space 2 and 3 aswell (but please at least 2) Dead Space 2 was my favourite one and LOVED every bit of it. Even doing Hardcore mode, and unlocking the BIG Foam Finger (Bang Bang) Number 2 💯% deserves the same treatment and get a Remake. Would LOVE the Trilogy Remade. ALL 3 were AMAZING games. But the 2nd is a pure Masterpiece. And l can guarantee you it will sell way more copies than the first one. Even though your first one was incredible to. Pleaseee Make it happen 🫰
@@diegojoaquin5258 It isn't actually that very scary at first it is but you'll get used to it while Dead Space 3 is more like a space action than Horror. DS 2 tho is definitely haunting.
Man... I thought I achieved so much when I beat Dead Space. It was a slog through gore filled terror-hallways, and the relief once I finished it was so great. I never thought I'd have to subject myself to such horror again, and yet, here we are. You bastards.
@@prele uhm ... no. Just no, my Dude. There are multiple new things: - New sounds and character models - New dialogue (since Isaac will actually talk this time) - New additions to the story - for example Isaacs search for Nicole will play a bigger role. - More realistic damage Models for the enemies (you have to actually hit the same spots on a limb multiple Times to cut it off) - New Locations Like you see in the Trailer, especially in terms of Zero-G Levels. - Also as you can see, you can now fly in Zero-G like in Dead Space 2 and 3 instead of jumping between surfaces like in the original. So please stop saying it's just a remaster. Yeah it looks pretty much the same with better graphics, at first glance, but thats the goal. People should experience something New but still be able, to recognize it Classic Dead Space elements. It's not The Last of Us Part 1.
I love how accurate and faithful this is to the original game. You can tell Motive has a deep love for the source material. Gunnar Wright sounds like he hasn’t aged a day. This looks absolutely fantastic and I can’t wait to be made whole!
Indeed. A near carbon copy. So I wonder why I should play it, much less give EA money. I can't simply ignore how this whole endeavour ( and I am NOT speaking against Motive Studios here) is in PARTICULARLY bad taste considering how the scumbag publisher treated Visceral games before, during and after DEAD SPACE 3 . . .
It doesn't seems like a complete copy, off the top of my head the original let you go into space, but it was more jumping in a straight line form platform to platform where you push one button and Issac flys through space for you. That doesn't seem to be the case here, we saw full on controllable space floating, i'm curious to see what else they changed
@@BDouble050 Yeah, I remember there was an interview regarding the remake and they said there are actually features and parts of this new game that they had wanted to do in the original but couldn't at the time because of tech limitations. So basically, this remake is going to include more of their original vision than the original did. So if they really put the love and effort into it, this should be an absolute masterpiece.
@@vincelang3779 I think it's worth taking a look at because it can be a revival of the series and it's a way of telling EA to not make the same mistake they did with Dead Space 3. Fans want this type of Dead Space. So yeah, it's worth supporting

Dead Space is a genuine horror game and a genuine pleasure to play/watch walkthroughs for. To this day I can't play any of them in the dark with noise cancelling headphones on again.
@@monsesh1316 To be honest DS while scary, isn't what I'd call a true horror game. It's more spectacle. In film you can have IT or The Exorcist. IT is scary because of jump scares, The Exorcist is more cerebral, and atompospheric. Dead Space was always a blockbuster action game with a horror theme. So when 2 went out they leaned towards that aspect a little more and it worked because it still felt like dead space 1. 3 went all in the action, turning it from a horror game to a straight up cover/3rd person shooter. This is why alot of people dont like 3.
No matter how many times I completed Dead space, every time I played, I was guaranteed for the scare, chilling & creepy experience. This game is hands down the best action survival horror game.
i couldn't even complete it ONCE cuz it was too intense for me. lol but i'm looking forward to giving the remake a real playthrough and finishing it THIS time.
as much as I hate to say it, don't buy this. the only reason this game is getting a remake is so EA can compete with there EX dead space director who's making The Callisto Protocol

@@Maximus20778 at the end of the day resident evil 4 is still a horror game, for the remake, it's confirmed that the devs aimed the game to be scarier than the original game, so it's a horror game!
Hearing Gunner Wright behind Issac again just feels right. I am so happy to see him back in the role. I dont care if remakes are happening way too often in this console generation, this was a game that was amazing in the 7th generation and imo deserved to come back for both new and old players.
No, if anything, we need more older games remade. There's only so many times you can reinvent the wheel, sometimes you should just take what you had and improve upon it instead of making something entirely different. I mean, look how FF7 turned out.
I had quite a bit of fun with Dead Space 1 and 2. But while I'm not the biggest fan, seeing the dev videos show how much love and detail they're putting into this, it makes me want to jump back in. It makes me very happy to see devs that actually love both what they're working on and thier fellow fans.
@@joseblas957 dead space 3 is a blast. and having friends to share the dead space fandom with is great too. it's too bad the OG ds fans rejected it for being too different
@@kalui96 nobody rejected it for being different, we rejected it for being a bad deadspace game lol. No ammo management, the new weapons killed the uniqueness of the originals, there was wayyyyy less incentive to shoot limbs, and the base game wasnt scary in the slightest. Worst of all the game was built entirely around coop......except for the cutscenes for some reason lol. Enemies spawn infinitely in a lot of places, every interactable door/QTE had a goofy looking duplicate sitting right next to it and alllllllllll the scary moments were tied to carver. Besides the fact that elton john is the antagonist, or that the government was wiped out entirely in between ds2/3, the story was alright, but unlike the last two games we didnt even get that great of environments to explore and the lore felt.......rushed
I gotta say, thank you guys for being so incredibly transparent with your development process of the game. @@btservices7741 Yeah I think people like us who came in from Dead Space were expecting it to live up to that and it just didn't. I'd say finish it as it is somewhat short and cool to experience but honestly if you're 100% not planning to try again I'd highly recommend playing Signalis instead if you haven't already
I’m glad to see Isaac’s original VA return. I know some people would prefer him to stay silent like he originally did in the first game, but IMO Gunner Wright became too iconic as Isaac with dead space 2 and 3 that it would feel odd to me not seeing him in the remake.
Agreed I am shock to see lots of ppl disappointed Gunner is returning back as Isacc; imo he IS our Isacc just as much as Steve Downes IS Master Chief for Halo An iconic voice.
Too iconic? Dead Space 1 was easily the best of the series. Why do 'modern audiences' want everything explained to them? There was real charm in part 1 having Isaac not say anything and having to think about how Isaac would feel.
Deadspace 2 doesn't have quite the level of constant background fear and horror as deadspace 1 did, and I think a huge part of that was the silent protagonist. Confident main character with the occasional witty one liner kinda ruins the overall horror.

And not just graphics the sound design they added in is amazing 😍 even down to better breathing and sound bouncing off surfaces. Should add quite abit to the experience
This is even appeals towards old fans though, the inclusion of Gunner means that there are whole renewed Cinematic/Dialogues scenes to make sense of his talking part. There are actually new things to explore too since some of the level where extended or revamped.
It's been so long since I played any of the Dead Space games that I can't really remember them. I'm hoping to get the first time experience...for the second time 😊
The accuracy of the audio in creating the lonely atmosphere, knowing something was in the room with you and lack of sound in vacuum areas really set a high bar for me for games that came after this to compare to it. Having enemies that would follow you from one room to another if you tried to run away and spawned into the environment based on your position in a room was new and challenging compared to the previous survival horror king. My heart wants to believe this will deliver but my last 3 pre=ordered games were broken in many ways at launch and for months after, so I take a wait and see approach with AAA titles now, even remakes with new engines.
It deserves to be played with the best sound bar/audio system/headphones possible! Heck, even 20$ desktop computer speakers will do! Just don't waste the game on your tv's/monitor's lame speakers! Imma rock my... 100$ sound bar on DS! 🤣 Can't wait to hear the creepy sounds of the massive Ishimura through it and especially listen to the Ripper's circular saws continuously slicing Necromorphs' tender weaker joints! 😜

Why? Talking doesn't make anything scary. Silence is actually scary. All great horror movies utilize silence to build tension. Its just another example of cultural degradation.
I don't know the look yes very much but the thing many liked about Issac in that first outing was the fact he never talked let alone took his helmet off. It wasn't until Dead Space 2 that we saw a bit of personality. But I will still take a look to see how this stacks up to the original.

@@soisaidtogod4248 It appears to be a remake, so the whole game is recreated in a new engine. Worth some money I'd say. Should be at least a bit different, not a simple replay. Looks like this remake is our best and last hope. I just finished The Callisto protocol and it is for lack of a better word: disappointing. In fact, GameSpot’s review sums up my impression of the game quite nicely.
I actually kinda like that they gave Isacc a speaking role this time for the first game. Makes it more immersive with how he actually reacted to the events

@@h.bjoewho6859 There is a distinct difference between envisioning yourself in the shoes of the character and self insertion. It’s fine to have Isaac voiced, but I definitely preferred when he was silent. This is incredible. Dead space was the first and probably last game that genuinely made me scared. The grotesque necromorphs, cool combat and the claustrophobic space void and also great story makes a knockout
Unfortunately over the years I’ve become desensitized to anything “scary”.. but I loved the hell out of this game back in the day, I’ll definitely be picking it up for nostalgia
Isaac talking shook me. That was one of my favorite parts about the first one, mostly just grunting, moaning and a lil yelling. For me it was like he was to scared/shock to talk, it also added the alone feeling. Besides that change game looks perfect
Isaac won't talk much. He'll only talk when someone talks to him. In the original it was very strange for issac to remain silent when Nicole hallucination was talking to him.
I mean I totally get Isaac not talking really ramping up the fear factor of the original and really allowing the player to put their own feet into his shoes, but tbh it just fits the story better to have Gunner taking the reins. I mean even in the first game if you check the objective tracker Isaac is making logs on this recorder (the player just never hears/sees this but can again read them. Also now with two other main title games with Isaac behind us where he does open his trap it would feel very weird if he didn't speak as it's part of his personality now.
I get your point but it always interested me what he actually thinks of and how he reacts to the monsters, maybe the logs, plottwists or certain events. I like him having some kind of personality to express like in later games.
I love that Issac will talk in this one. After replaying the original I noticed so many occasions where he should have been the one to speak instead of the others. Like in the beginning when a soldier pointed out what was wrong with the Ishimura instead of Issac (you know, the Engineer of the group whose job it is to identify mechanical problems, and offer solutions.) So yeah, i’m 100% on board! 😊
I'm hoping they fix the gun balances. In the first there wasn't really a reason to use half the weapons, something which was fixed for 2. Really hoping they don't mess this up.
I agree but man am I gonna miss super Chad Issac that didn’t complain when they made him fix the entire ship while fighting the entire necromorph outbreak even tho he was just some engineer
I was confused by him talking in this trailer, thinking, "Wasn't Isaac a silent protag in DS1?" Hopefully this will add to the story and atmosphere, and not be a distraction.
In the OG, Isaac jotted down all his thoughts in his mission log, hope he gets to voice them out loud in this game. I remember there being a specific log that stated how he knew most of the people aboard the Ishimura. Imagine how somber his lines would be when he encounters a room full of corpses.
Right? I remember him not speaking in the first one at all, seems like playthrough will be more interesting with him speaking, hopefully it dosent ruin the serious tone it had from the first game with him not talking at all..
Yeah this is absolutely for both crowds, those who played the first game and those who didn't. Really excited to see where they take Isaac's thoughts now that he's actually voicing them.
I can't believe you idiots are going to literally give your money to EA for a remake of a game they killed themselves, made by a studio they shut down and fired all the developers. And now a couple of years later they want to make some easy money by using the work of developers they treated like garbage and fired from their own studio, and you're all going to actually buy this and reward EA for being the most disgusting studio on earth

Would you look at that, the hallway tentacle is back! There's an entire behind the scenes segment about how much time and effort the original team had to spend animating that, for something the players only experience for 30 seconds. Incredible to see it wasn't omitted.
Love it! Scares as the first time - honestly I liked more the "mute" Isaac. Knowing you are not a super hero, not seeing your face, the heavy metallic breathing, the goofy heavy movements in the fights and while running... All makes the game so thrilling and amazing. Love the series, just hope that we can get the same feeling of being underpowered against all the horrors on the ishimura!
Loving the lighting and dust effects and I can't wait to see The Hunter and Twitchers. I do hope Nicole's voicelines are more expressive in game, like she was in the original version. She sounds a bit bored in the trailer, but Hammond and Isaac sound phenomenal :D
I'm happy I'm not the only person who noticed the difference in her voice. She sounded so desperate and at the brink of losing her sanity in the original game in her message to Isaac. Her voice in the trailer sounds a little too calm in comparison but I hope they'll fix that in the final game's audio. I hope they bring back all the other original voice actors too, especially Hammond's VA. Any idea if it's the same VA for Hammond in the remake as well? I couldn't really tell for sure from the trailer.
@@AM-mp7ug same here, I couldn't really make out if it was Hammond's and [what I think is] Mercer's original VAs. I hope the mains do come back, as they each did a really solid job.
