Johnston was replaced by a black woman who now survives the initial attack. People of Asian and European descent are replaced by black people in the Ishimura propaganda. Kendra and Nicole both look like 50+ year old women. They made Nicole look like different, and they also made Kendra flat and apparently a lesbian. There are now “all-gender” restrooms. The game now has “trigger warnings”. There is graffiti complaining about capitalism in a corporate-led remake of someone else's work. These may seem minor things to some people, but why did the devs need to incorporate these things at all? Why couldn't they keep it faithful and not sprinkle their agenda into the game, which they have now posed? And drastically changing Isaac's face to being unrecognizable was a stupid decision. His physical similarity to Adam Sandler is distracting, and he lacks the aesthetic of the original, classic Isaac who looked the part of an Everyman, average Joe worker. They also changed his eyes from grey-blue to brown and, based on the abovementioned things, it should be obvious why these people would do such a thing.
It was a dream of mine to have the original be a remaster, but this is 10 times better. A literal childhood dream come true. Well done, motive, well freaking done.
I can say with confidence that this is the best remake of a game I have ever played. Kept everything that made it great, added more to make it better, and changed minor things that only improved upon what was there before. The spirit of Visceral lives on through Motive.
They didn't reinvent the wheel and that is why it's so successful. Many developers start changing the game in their vision in the remakes and ruin everything that made the original great. I only ask to change Dead Space 3 because co-op ruined everything, all the tension, the scare factor, it was all gone. Replaced by an action shooter. Please make Dead Space 3 what it should have been so long ago.
@@Fullmetal85 I actually wouldn’t mind if they kept co-op, so long as they make the entire game work like the DLC did and really lean into the players experiencing different things at once. You could also pull some awesome stuff with in game voice chat. (Of course, if they removed co-op all together, I still wouldn’t complain.)
@@Fullmetal85 It wasn't the co-op that made it unscary it was the generic ammo which allowed you to use overpowered super guns at all times instead of rationing them as well as the fact that you were often in open and well lit areas for a lot of the game. Only the first section even took place off-planet too.
@@Zyemeth0 I really liked the snow environment, wish they'd done more with the low visibility created by a blizzard. Those fodder enemies that looked almost human were actually designed with the idea that the player wouldn't be able to identify what they were in a snowstorm, but they're never used like that in game which is a crying shame.
Your confidence is naive. A large number of finer details was compromised or rid away with here, and some philosophies were broken. I have to assume you played RE1R, which is the better remake.
my head canon is a woman rocking back and forth holding her knees together close to her chest, a euphoric smile with blood all over her face. in her madness all her mind can think of to attempt to put her at ease is remember happy times of rocking her kid to sleep singing a lullaby
I think this a great headcanon since it sounds like she is speaking through the ships PA system and Isaac is hearing it when he’s on the elevator on the hydroponics deck.
The fact that this comment section is so positive should tell everybody that it is indeed possible to please the fans of a franchise as long as you have the right people working on a project. Motive not only understands the fans but also what made Dead Space such a fascinating game and experience. I only got the most profound respect and appreciation for you guys. I love this community and hope that you will bring us more joy in the future. Keep up the great work and dedication. Thanks Motive, you guys are amazing.
@@thunderbird2712 Many people are turned off with the idea of a remake, but Dead Space did it very well. I liked Callisto, but it is certainly lacking compared to the remake and even the other games within the Dead Space franchise
@@corrputgamer I agree with you, but there's something this remake's missing heavily that gave the original the mood it had. The ship design, atmosphere, art style, it's different, I'm wondering if its all the futuristic tech and neon lights that's changed the game's aesthetic. That and Nicole and Kendra's faces are my issues, I guess.
This should have been the reveal trailer for the remake! Not only would it have gotten so much hype! But the pure nostalgia factor of the OG trailer would've truly got fans mega hyped for this remake! Regardless, the remake is fantastic and I appreciate all the hard work that they did with it! Here's to hoping we get a faithful remake of DS2 next!
@bruh criiiinge I meant as in the gaming industry as a whole. Game remakes as of late have been pretty mediocre with the exception of the Resident Evil ones. Just speaking in general, could’ve worded it better I suppose.
The original version of this trailer is what had me wanting to play Dead Space back in 2008 and then fact that you guys remade the trailer is amazing! Well done, Motive. Phenomenal work. Also, I just Platinumed the game yesterday 😊
Love this so much this remake was my first time jumping into this universe and I’ve been absolutely hooked. Played the remake like 5 times now including an impossible run and played dead space 2 for the first time and had a blast. Motive you guys are incredible and should be super proud of this!!!
Truly a massive achievement to surpass the already phenomenal original. Truly grateful for the hardwork you guys have put it. Looking forward to whatever comes next.
I thank you from the deepest and darkest depths of my heart for re-creating this game to it's purrst perfection. All I ask for now is that the next project is to give the same treatment to the sequel Dead Space 2 instead of creating a part 4.
A year later and this remake is probably one of the best yet, most remakes get like an HD polish and maybe some texture restructure, but no they went all out for Dead Space, I absolutely can’t wait to see what they’ll do to Dead Space 2, much love to the Motive team!!!❤❤❤❤❤
I would love a extraction remake being a 3rd person view and making it cohesive and coherent with 1 remake. Then 2 remake and last a 3 remake/soft reboot.
when the game had its first few trailers i was hoping just hoping this trailer would be remade as its also the opening title screen in the game. thank you so much
Just recently bought the remake as I didn’t want pay £60+ even though I loved the originals!! Got it for £25 last week and haven’t stopped playing it!! Really wish Dead Space would get more attention in the masses so it could be made into a live action!
An absolute masterpiece only comparable to RE2 in terms of quality, love, and dedication. A remake done right. Thank you so much for this. We are expecting Dead Space 2 from you!
There's an elevator section, which I believe in Hydroponics, that you will actually hear this lullaby. It will start to fade as you walk further away from the elevator. Was honestly scary
There has never been a game trailer, or any trailer really that has sent shivers down my spine or genuinely shaken me like the twinkle lullaby of Dead Space. Kudos to the team at Visceral Games!
This was the trailer that got me into DS way back in the day. I remember being 11 and seeing this ad on a local game channel called Game One on tv. It stuck with me ever since.
You guys at Motive did an outstanding job remaking the game and even this iconic trailer. One can tell the love and passion you put into this. Hopefully EA gives green lights for the Dead Space 2 Remake
This gave me goosebumps. You guys knocked this remake out of the park, and you did this old trailer justice, too. Hats off to you, and I can't wait to see what you have in store next!
Props to the Motive team for recreating the original trailer. EA, let’s this team take Dead Space into new heights. I want me more dead Space. Just remake 2 and REMAKE 3.
I still can't get over how much justice they did this game. Tons of people were shitting on the early news about the Dead Space remake left and right, and having played it now, those people can kiss my whole ass hole. So far my only gripe with the remake is that I can't have run mapped to the original button because that button is now dedicated to rotating left when in zero G.
not often do remakes get done this well. still not completed it yet but loving playing dead space again after all these years. hope they remake dead space 2.
An amazing remake of my favorite video game trailer of all time! Like the original it gives me chills every time I watch it! Seriously, Motive, thank you so much for the incredible effort you’ve put into this new industry standard for video game remakes ❤️
I love that the remake did so well and sold so well too. EA is definitely happy, because they put out a survey asking if people would be interested in remaking Dead Space 2 and 3 so we will definitely be seeing a remake of Dead Space 2 in the next few years without a doubt. Maybe even a Dead Space 4 eventually.
Thank you very much for remaking the classic trailer as well, It shows such a level of detail and contact with the community. Take your time with the remake of Dead Space 2 (an also with the updates to fix the stuttering on PC).
almost perfect the Lullaby should have a little bit more echo like it's a last survivor singing to her self on a huge dead space ship where her singing echoes through the empty silent ship and the filter was more viseral aswell in the original i wish the same horror filter was used again for this !
The fact that you guys remade this iconic trailer is just more proof that you're still listening to the fans. Because I've seen a lot of people on Reddit asking for you to do it, and you actually did it. Thank you, EA Motive. Here's hoping you guts Remake Dead Space 2 with the same love and passion as this one.
I was about 9 when i first heard the dead space trailer with this song, ive wanted to play it since, it has since shaped my perception of horror, for indeed there is no greater fear for humans than being hopelessly trapped in a vessel in space than it is to be drowning, i havent had the opportunity to play dead space until 9 years laters and when I did, I was not having fun, yes I enjoyed it but every room, every mission was not supported by excitement, my mind was rolling its eyes thinking, great, what next, I hated every mission, every extra chore, I knew i would get devoured, it was a fear factor, an experience, that game was beyond fun it was literaly survival, once the final cutsceNE was playing i realized i experienced cosmic horror first stand, it was not fun i was in fear of the unknown that every mission would bring and each room was unique, this game wasa notlet mr assure you like watching and immersing myselg in coscmic horror at all, this game was literally being in a cosmic horror, let me assure you, if youve previously seen event horizon or movies like that and then play this game, perhaps this may be the game for you, but the reality is it compares nothint to be the watcher, for in this game you will be the victim. Enjoy yourselves highly reccomencd, this game goes above and beyond to immerse you, perhaps too far sometimes but that's the point. If you are patient and brave enough, thiere is no better or scarrier a horror game than this, no indie dveloped will ever make a game like this and dont you dare hope on it
The size of the Ishimura, in relation to the rock, in relation to the massive hole in the planet, is a little unrealistically warped. I like the trailer anyhow, brings back nostalgia.
Outside of DOOM 2016, this is the greatest remake or reboot game I've ever played. So happy EA wasn't meddling in the production of this award worthy game
Brings me back, dang Motive you guys are doing amazing things with this franchise, you guys have to do the Ring Around the Rosie and the launch trailer with that Smashing Pumpkins song whenever you guys remake Dead Space 2.
