It's taking some time to get used to the narrator. His delivery is almost a reading of short statements or declarations. It's almost monotone without much variant.
Most the good ones (& all the great ones) have been deleted, shoulda been here last year, that said zombie fallout (& especially Timothy!) by Mark Tufo, guaranteed to have you not only rolling but actually rooting for one particular zombie, (TIMMY!🧑🦽! zombie road series is very good, zombie island (if you can find it) Adrians undead diaries are not so much action but very well written, few of the creepy pastas but most are utter shite, zombie dawn, apocalypse & one more I can’t recall, the wtf series, slow burn, grenade man vs the zombies is another funny af one, almost everything that R.C Bray narrates tho there are a couple real turds, all the ones written by chicks suck hard so avoid all of them unless long, drawn out, boring chick flick crap is the goal & you asked for action, whole bunch I can’t remember cuz youboob 86ed em over the last year but anything Tufo recommends or is compared to should be top shelf, best a luck to ya
Dead City is alright. It's basically nonstop from the get go but the main character is an every man. So no hyper tactical zombie slaughter. More like a non stop run. Its an okay story. The first book in the Day By Day Armageddon series is pretty action packed too. Though it's written by an active duty service member and the MC is military as well. Expect lots of acronyms and descriptions of equipment. It's a great read/listen.
Even after the world goes to hell, religion is greedy and selfish. Love the deconstruction of Superman. They brought up a ton of good points. Vann/Vahn or whatever is going to die due to his own stupidity, it is only a question of how many people he'll take with him. He could only survive in a secluded location like a walled city. He was always destined to fail and die, whether on this survival trek or his deployment as a soldier. His father's wish to go to the ocean after his son served for a while would never happen, unless his son was cremated.

Unfortunately for him the constitution has a problem with that since our founders greatly feared foreign governments gaining power over a US president that way.
