I really don't get why people say this. The artist is the only one who fully understands the essence of the interpretation of the song. Therefore, a cover of a song can never ''TrUmP'' the original. Load of bullshit. It can sound quite nice, I agree, but saying a cover is better than the original is literally spitting in the original creator's face.
@Rasmusb yes it does. A cover will never be better than the original, because every time it's played, it will always live within the original creative space of its creator. When you hear a cover, the song is the essence of what you hear. The only thing that changes is the way it is played and sung. I agree that musical taste is subjective and people can like a cover better than the original, but it's just not true. When you make a cover, you can create your own atmosphere and sound. But saying that a cover is better than the original is false, for the original is the one and only true form of the musical piece, as it is created.

You have an incredible sense of rhythm in your voice. Tone is really good too but I think your choices in your rhythm is the most impressive. Which makes this cover better than the original in my opinion.
