Hello, fellow North Carolinian! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I'm trying to decide what scope to purchase in the near future.

Thanks for the review. I looked hard the that same scope but read some reviews about the 40-55 yard ranging was good and some saying it was just ok. I ended up going with the aztect emerald 5.5x25x50 sfp. I feel the 40-55 yard parallax is very good. The reticals on both are very comparable. Also would like to thank you for the uploads. Your videos are what started me into field target. Have been to 5 shoots this year and having a great time. Thanks again, Ty

Oh wow Ty! Hearing someone say one of my vids got someone started into FT makes my day! If we are ever at a match together introduce yourself and remind me! THANKS

I absolutely will. Being up here in Ohio, we are very lucky to have 5 clubs that hold monthly events. Plus the Pyramyd air cup coming back in 2023.

how is the aztect holding up/holding zero? seems to be for airsoft guns from what internet says.

I mount my scopes the same way you did here but hang a thin line from a curtain with a 3lb weight on it for a true vertical plumb. Good luck, I still use your tip of focusing in on grain, works great!

YEP- and even BETTER way of doing it. I knew a FT master who basically did just that!

Thanks for your review. After a lot of searching I think I have finally settled on this exact scope. You are the only reviewer that has dealt with one of my main concerns, which is how accurately the side focus parallax adjusts to actual yardage. This will go on my CZ 457 (22LR) and I would like it to be useful for estimating longer ranges as well (if I ever put it on a centerfire rifle). I don't use a wheel but if I range out to, say, 150 yards I want a scope that side focuses at 150 yards (or close) on the dial. What are your thoughts?

You touched on something that has become critical for me in hunter division field target... the distance the parallax knob moves between 50 and 55 yards. On most scopes that is just a few degrees of knob rotation or just a few mms of travel of a wide diameter scope wheel. What scopes have you found that have a large amount of travel for this critical span of target distance? Regards.

You are right! Ranging from 50-55 can be very difficult with a scope at 16X- no matter what brand of scope! I am currently using a Athlon Heras. Much like the Helos, it has around 110° of parallax rotation from 10 yds to 55 yds. With my 'mega' wheel from JDsCustomdesign.com I have around 3/8" between my 50 and 55yd markings. Do I want more space there? ABSOLUTELY! But that would require some geometry changes to the gears in the scope. I have shared this need to our friends at Athlon. As far as other scopes out there that have more degrees of parallax travel- I'm afraid I do not have first hand experience with any that do. I have heard some say Element has more parallax wheel travel and perhaps there are others. I would love to hear from other's experience! How many degrees of parallax wheel travel do you have from 10-55 yds? That would be a good survey question.

what is the brand of the indicator line you have attached to your scope that aligns with your parallax / ranging wheel numbers ? See you at the Cajun Classic.
