DeadEye Review of the BARREL TENSIONING HARMONIC DAMPENING KIT (BT-HD) from Xtreme Field Target 

That's a good question that I should have commented on in the video. I measured the decibels with a phone app before and after the install and the levels were almost the same. With the kit installed it was actually a decibel or two quieter- but not very significant in my application. What I did notice is the tone of the shot is different. Best way I can describe it is a deeper tone. So not louder, just a slight change in pitch. I'm testing more, but it also seems to have more of a snap sound as air pressure gets low. Again, not louder, just a different pitch. Hope that helps!

Hey Keith! The standard power RW does not use the ART barrel- the ART barrel has only been tested and approved for the HP version at this time. That being said- my standard RW shoots great for field target and I could not ask for a more accurate rifle!

The only part of the kit I did not have to start was the thin brass sheet used to shim the barrel. I can't say I noticed any noticeable decrease in group size after I installed the shim. That being said, I still installed it and kept it in. And I am hesitant to say it's unnecessary as it may make a difference with other rifles and calibers.
