The conflict in manipur goes beyond just religions. Also sagol kangjei and arambai existed pre hinduism in Kangleipak

The reason why these arts almost vanish can be related to Hinduism coming to Manipur or Kangleipak (at that time). When the then King adopted Hinduism he forced all his subjects to convert to Hinduism, and ban practices related to the old religion and burned almost all manuscripts related to the old religion or practice. (This happened in the 18th century, 1729 AD to exact) So people could forget and step faster into the new religion he chooses. However many intellectuals of that time hide many of these manuscripts from the king, could be they think for future reference or love of their old culture and customs. Until recently after the monarchy died and modernization these manuscripts started resurfacing people came to know about it. Those three were the closest to the manuscripts related to Arambai. Sadly there are few and are of little value to practice it in today's world. Hence it has been hidden under the rugs for so long.
