Oh History Hunter, the thought of almost losing you so you could provide us with WW2 video is heartbreaking. Thank you for having Eagle Eyes guard the entrance. I agree with you, they should close this up so Noone else gets ill! Please use this for whatever you need next, even if it's paying bills or maintaining yourself. Thank you for sharing this video with us. Feel better soon. Keep smiling! Take care of yourself & Eagle Eyes & Bunker buster. girl.

What an exciting trip in so many ways. I took my father who was a veteran to a bunker near Ambleteuse in France some years ago. He would not enter and I now understand why. He had survived the Blitz and Tobruk. Please take care, I will not enter a bunker on my own. Your trips are wonderful, educational and fascinating and your enthusiasm comes through all the time. Many thanks.

Oh boy, that was an extemely dangerous place. Not only did you get a toxic mold lung infection, but also you could have had a tragic fall. That is probably why they tried to close the openings, poor attempt unfortunately. I hope you reported it to prevent future illnesses and/or tragic accidents. Lesson learned I hope. Thank goodness you had the presence of mind to not have EE go down with you. That was quite the place I have to say. What a huge network of tunnels under the 2 gun turrets. Yes, a shame some of that equipment was not salvaged and put in a museum. Thank you for showing us and taking us inside, even though you shouldn't have. Silly HH. I hope that you continue to heal. P.S. You don't have a fat ass. Thank you so much HH, but be more careful in the future. Thank you EE for watching over your insane Dad and standing guard at the entrance. 💞

I was a drywaller for several years. We tore out drywall that had that mold on it, use a respirator, that has two replaceable filters! And take a shower afterwards! A hazmat suit wouldn't hurt also. There was a couple of times that I remember working on house's that had dead people in them for awhile before they were found! Still had to gut the place! You never forget that smell!

You are extremely lucky to have survived. The bunkers should be either sealed or use filters. Do not think the mold can cleansed reliably and permanently with the moisture. But what an absolutely marvelous panzer turret. The gears and mechanisms there. The work involved in the system of tunnels is mind blowing. So glad EE was safe above it all. He was probably very upset to have missed it, but the price paid to see it was too high for him.

That one was a cross between a bunker exploration and The Blair Witch Project, very scary indeed! But well done HH for the extreme dedication in bringing us that one, it was truly awe-inspiring. Possibly the only defence against that white mould was a decent mask - but you will end up carrying all the additional equipment everywhere and not use it - and you are carrying enough already. Very glad you have EE being your "on-site" guardian angel. And very, very, glad that you have recovered from this potentially deadly illness. Breathing the cold, clean air of the countryside, definitely did you some good. While it was amazing seeing that tunnel system, I fully agree with you, in some circumstances, like that one, where there is no constant airflow, and tons of rotting materials, it is better that it is sealed up, so others don't risk suffering similar problems. On the brighter side. That turret was an incredible find, and seeing inside just amazing. It would be nice to think that the turrets will always be there, virtually untouched by the modern world, for all to see. Cheers to you both, and again, thank you for all your time and efforts, bringing such amazing, and spectacular, places to us!

Want you around to share more WW2 history, and EE & BBG want their Dad healthy. I hope your Doctor put you on a series of corticosteroids and antihistamines, and that you go for follow-up check-up and chest xray. Promise us no more foolish risks. Have to say tunnel system was quite complex and kinda spooky. As you mentioned, a shame none of the artifacts were preserved. If that bunker with the underground tunnel system and 2 12 cm MG turrets was maintained, many WW2 history buffs could safely do a tour and explore. Still thanks for taking us there and sharing. What an epic explore! This place was amazing. Even with the danger it was a great adventure. Im glad youre recovering quickly. I have lung problems so ican sympathize. The turret was awesome. Hopefully it will be left for future generations to explore. Sad to say that bunker needs to be sealed or go in there with breathing apparatus so you dont breathe the mold. Im so glad Eagle Eyes stayed topside, its bad enough thatyou were ill. Thank you both for this incredible experience. Id like to know the purpose of these kinds of bunkers. What did theyreally do there? Take care and stay safe. 💖💯

That is not good ot read my friend and hope you can cope with that. Great explore even though dangerous as can be. This is a part of the Atlantic Wall fortification line and had one purpose and that was to protect the AW and be ready to shoot any enemy out of the skies or ocean. Thanks and be safe Julie :)

Wow, that was a fantastic video and definitely worth the wait! In addition to your gas meters, I highly recommend investing in gas masks for both of you. As a former Infantry member, I know firsthand how crucial it is to have clean air for your lungs. Remember to prioritize your safety and take care. as always! "Good Hunting"

The one room at the end had what you thought was part of a stove. But it was in fact the end cap of a generator. The port on the end was for cooling. And the square access hole was to get at the brushes.

Seeing that tunnel system from the first gun area was astounding!! I'm curious though, where it was sealed off, if that was another entrance to the tunnel/gun area. Very interesting on how they constructed that and to think the amount of time it took!! OH MY!!! AND, thank goodness you are or have recovered. Im thinking we should invest in a hazmat suit for you or gas mask. I mean, being cautious like you said on future endeavors, I can understand, but the interest, wonder, curiosity that sparks within ourselves,hmmmmm.......Just a thought. Thanks for showing us this amazing area. Plus seeing that bunker oven still there and in such good shape, very nice. That other items, looked liked filters or something of that sort. Smart move on EE staying put!!! He's a great boy!!! Keep up the good work friend. As always, waiting for the next adventure. Until then, stay safe and SMILE

Had to deal with toxic mould at work on occasion. Special breathing kit etc. That stuff is nasty I'm awfully glad you two are ok. It looked like the tunnels in the first position were incomplete. In the second position when you remarked about "all the wood". Some of it at least may have been the room's interior. ??? Right!! If you noticed small pieces of wood inset vertically in the concrete, this is strapping or nailing strips. Then other wood or plaster lathing could be nailed to this, giving the space a more finished look and at a minimum would have cut down on the echoey effect of bare concrete.

BTW, consider taking NAC Right away and VitC mega dose. You are not out of the woods as mold spores can circulate. You should get blood work done and you may need some real meds.
