Imagine how the person who first discovered this was feeling. Amazed, confused, scared, bewildered, all at once. He/she probably thought it was an illusion, or that the orchid itself was carnivorous. But upon further inspection they realized it was a mantis that evolved to love just like an orchid and mimicked it to lure and snatch prey, which probably was the coolest thing in nature they witnessed in a awhile.

Scarlet Sorcerer he says that the orchid mantis attract insects better than the orchid itself but if you look from from the ultraviolet prospective she didn't me make that so that means she is like a flower who doesn't have nectar so the insect I'm not attracted to it just ignore it.....

The orchids shown in the first few minutes are hybrids and not what would grow in the wild, as suggested by the footage. Nor are the orchids themselves are "deadly" as suggested by the title, but the insects hiding on them are, and only to other insects. Total click bait with actual wrong information. Thumbs down all the way.

Continued. The hatchlings were the size of mosquitoes & color of straw, very very FAST. Hilariously tickled my arm hairs and went into adult defensive poses, arching to be taller with arms held way out and up beside heads, a mighty half inch wide. Made several trips to the bamboo the adults love to release. Egg sac still hatching so I put it where stalk met tiny branches and they kept emergin....!

syez channel no, not really. In fact, mantids are fairly friendly insects. The worst they could do is probably spike you with the spikes on the back of their front claws.

You can keep them as a pet, I actually have one myself and a lot of the different species of mantis. Orchid mantis aren’t for beginners Though so it’s best to start with a giant Asian or African mantis.

It could potentially be a giant Asian because of the location. I’ve owned mantis a few years but I’m still not very good at identifying them. I’m sure if you posted a screenshot in a mantis Facebook group that be able to tell you straight away!
