something I really hate about shows that follow this type of story progression. House is arguably the most intellectual person in that hospital. The most intellectual person in the medical field PERIOD in that worlds story. However they repeatedly disregard his warnings time and time again. Other stories do that as a way to build suspense and a way to build an event and its stupid and asinine. I love House, but when stories progress because characters are not heeding the warnings of the person who is the defacto expert on the subject, who has on multiple occasions been proven right, its stupid. "Character A - smartest tactician - in a war story" - Guys the enemy is planning to do this!!! "Every other character" - NAAAAAH that sounds outrageous they would never. You are going crazy and senile. It wouldn't be exactly ethical, to call ethics board, so they can discuss the necessity of potentially or outright unethical choice, if, as a result of the delay, the worse outcome were to manifest. And here is the kicker. Say ethics committee were called in this case and as result of them talking for hours, both kids died. The committee wouldn't face anything, meanwhile if House went ahead without consent from the committee, he could lose his license due to ethics violation.

It's tragic when a person dies. A baby? Yeah...turn that up to 11.
@bakoyma

No. Losing a loved one is equally tragic to the people involved. We're just conditioned to "all the feels" when it's babies. This wouldn't have been better for the parents if it was 17 year old Sheila who enjoys knitting and sports. Or better for said Sheila if it was her dad who was the one to die...

@ChocoBabiChan
@ChocoBabiChan Год назад
And this is why breast feeding is so essential. Since babies are born with an immune system that is pretty much level zero, the colostrum that comes out before the breast milk is filled with antibodies that gives your baby a fighting chance against world of bacteria. And the defense breast milk offers doesn't just stop at the colostrum. It continues throughout the breastfeeding term up until your child is ready for solids. Not only does breast milk protect your child from getting deathly ill, it also aids in healthy cognitive, and physical development. If your baby doesn't latch, that's fine, you can still pump. If your milk doesn't come in, and medications aren't working, then I suggest looking into breast milk donation supply or hiring a healthy wet nurse which is still a thing.

I don’t get why they couldn’t give both babies the same antibiotics. They treat it as a trial, one works the other doesn’t. They are guaranteed a death. If they gave both the same antibiotics there is a risk, either both die or both live (either the antibiotics are the right choice or not) You’d put both babies on the line but you wouldn’t be giving up on either
@seraphinefontana3058
@seraphinefontana3058 Год назад
Probably to save time they didn't have. If they give the same medicine to both of the baby what if it doesn't work? What then? Besides, it's an epidemic. They're trying to save lives by sacrificing one.
@gabsnandes7818
@gabsnandes7818 Год назад
If you gave both the same: 50%×50%=25% at the two surviving The other one is a 50% shot at one of the babies surviving, it's a better rate to have at least one life safe However, given what we know after the end of the show, the other baby was going to die no matter what
