Deadly Weapons: 1 Million Rounds Per Minute,Meet The Metal Storm ‘Gun’ 

Maybe it's me, but I saw no metal storm gun in this video. Lots of other high speed weapons, but no Metal storm. The actual Metal storm weapon can shoot at a rate of 1 millions rounds per minute. But that amount of storage capacity has yet to be developed...If ever. The weapon has no exterior feed ability.

This title is bullshit - Where is the Metal Storm gun?

This video just shows Gatling and Maxim machine guns, it doesn't even show a picture of the Metal Storm gun and it even gets the specs of the gun system wrong... why?

You imply the metal storm has a fixed firing rate of one million rounds a minute when in fact it is computer controlled and can fire at a rate down to a single bullet at a time. Poor job.

Who needs 1 million rpm if you have 4200 rpm from the 30mm GAU 8 Avenger....

1 mill rpm ..... lets see.... an avg .50 BMG weighs app....0.0419249 kg.... multiplied by 1mill gives us 41 924,9 kilograms which is effectively 42 tons...... this thing can move 42 tons of metal in a minute at high speed....

The metal storm( shoots insanely fast)

Instead of 1 round every 2 minutes, we got to 2,000,000 rounds every 1 minutes and 16 thousand bullets per second. That means (Obviously) every 16 thousandth of a second a bullet fires. So the gun hasn't even fired, and before you even blink, you're body is mush as you've been shredded by hundreds if not thousands of bullets.

At this point, your objective isn't to decimate a few targets, it's to level an entire multi story building with dozens of soldiers, baracades, supplies, etc, going floor by floor, all the way through, leaving everything shredded from the front of the building to the back, in less than 30 seconds. A 6, let alone 7 digit per minute gun is by definition a weapon of mass destruction. There's a point where having certain kinds of powerful weaponry is not only beyond insanely impractical, but mind-numbingly stupid, beyond unfathomably wasteful, and a liability. You don't have to put 500 THOUSAND holes in a 4 story building and turn 30 soldiers into unrecognizable mush in 15 seconds, nor do you have to use a metric ton of ammunition and leave a 10 foot high stack of shell casings in your wake to turn into a makeshift barricade. One or two mortar shells, one missle shot from a distance, a few hand thrown explosive at a structural base, a tank or more feasibly a 50 Cal jeep turret, or a few well aimed M-14s mags will decimate the building in a much more effective way (albeit not as cool or scary looking [Not that the dead enemy soldiers have the opportunity to judge you on your weaponry]). So yeah, fucking cool, but unless you're in an extremely wide area, like a massive field, where countless soldiers are running in multiple directions, hiding around tress, and shooting back, you really won't have the need to unload tens of thousand of shells a minutes into a small or large area, and even then, the term "Highly excessive and impractical still shoots (No pun intended) directly into mind (No pun intended again... Cause get it? Shoots directly into mind.? Like a headshot? Yeah I think you get it)

I don't think that's possible. I fired the Vulcan 20mm in the early 80s. I just can't believe this. It would melt or at least warp the barrels.

They were trying to set it up with grenade launcher ,,,forget being called the finger of God ,that would be more like the fist or elbow of God ... What could something that would fire grenades at that high rate of fire be used for it would be like using a sledge hammer to put up a thumb-tack just a wee bit if over kill lol amazing that the gun can fire so many bullets it would slice a tank into bits or punch a hole rite thru it , If it was shot at a person 1 million rounds ,would there even be anything left besides a puddle Have they tested the gun on like a dummy human ,pig or something that resembles a body as id like to know was there anything left of the person ,,,,and it would suck that much fire-power and u couldn't use it to sweep or strafe the field People id imagine it would be over so fast that there would be no way to move it side 2 side b4 its completely spent all its rounds in one go
