Not just remixing Deadmau5, but for remixing Strobe. That's why Joel said it. He knows remixes of his songs happen, but to remix Strobe, that is what takes big balls

Really surprises me to hear deadmau5's opinion on the playability of this bassline. As a bassist for over 12 years this riff is nowhere impossible. Try watching bass players like Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller and Richard Bona...you'll be amazed.
I love how everyone is saying that deadmau5 doesnt know anything about bass and that davie504 played it easily and nobody notice that he played 1:32 etc differently than it is in the remix, which im sure what joel was on about when saying it was technically impossible

I don't see anyone saying Deadmau5 doesn't know anything about bass... only that he was wrong about this, which is actually pretty awesome because the fact that somebody actually can crush this bass line for real is amazing. Admiring Davie504's talent doesn't mean having to admire Deadmau5 any less my dude.
Kudos to Deadmau5. I think he was just off the cuff here. The guy that came in and agreed with him was just resonating with him. I'm not a fanboy of Deadmau5 by any shape or measure, but he totally owned up and gave a kudos to the remix bootlegger here, because he knows this vibe.
@@AB21 Davie is def not one of the best bass players.. Even the Fivrr Bass Pro he features is better than him.. Charles Berthoud.. Davie is a great bassist, no doubt, but he's actually not that great of a musician overall. In terms of his ability to read music and playing with bands, he struggles. This is because he is not classically trained like Charles and many others. I would really like to see Davie expand more and become more versatile. i want to see him play with some really good bands that challenge him. Im not trying to take anything away from Davie and his skills on bass, as he is a great player. He's just not one of the best or anywhere near the best.
Nobody seems to be addressing this point: Yeah, the Davie504 rendition is great, but when he says "impossible," maybe he's referring to the fact that there are alternating slapped and fingerstyle notes that would be very difficult to execute, which Davie504 doesn't do in his rendition.
I just realized why it was impossible, because I think sparkee was using a slap bass sample with higher frequencies cut out. And the higher frequencies were brought back later in the remix. Or I could be completely wrong.
i gave up on music making after years of doing it. i cant play chords, i cant play a good damn thing but managed to do it for years. oh dear. now i'm nearly 48 and have had just about a gut full of my own music. i totally respect any one who makes it in the music industry. i swear it is fake or blood line stuff. or i was that shit at it

he said such a bassline PROGRAMING is technically not possible. So he knew that it it real guitar playing, not the programmed one in a sequencer. what do you know about music production..
