Throughout the film, Deadpool accuses the studio of not having enough money to pay for several elements in the movie. In fact, Fox Studios cut $7 million out of the film's budget at the last minute, necessitating several rewrites.

Iirc there was one Fox exec who really didn’t get Deadpool and thought the movie wouldn’t hit. He even thought this after seeing test footage, and it took someone (maybe even Ryan himself) leaking said test footage and him seeing how people loved it for him to give the movie a shot. Even still, he remained against it until it released to be a smash hit.

One thing I love about this movie and the second one is that it proves what it is, in the first one Deadpool says it’s a love story, which it is, and in the second movie he says it’s a family movie, and in the end it turns out to really be a movie about family

Fun fact: a friend of mine from school was listening to this movie in secret in the computer lab and accidentally ripped his headphones off right when Deadpool said “what the shit biscuits!” And everyone laughed as he turned the computer and was sitting there bright red🤣

This is definitely my favorite X-Men and Ryan Reynolds movie. It makes fun of itself, makes fun of Marvel movies, makes fun of other movies, and the humor and action scenes are top tier. Personally, my favorite Deadpool line is “This s**t’s gonna have nuts in it.” 😅
