Art Imitates Life Fact: Ryan Reynolds revealed that the taxi driver character Dopinder (Karan Soni) was named after "a really cool guy" he knew in elementary school who died when hit by lightning. The character was meant to be a tribute to him. Not A CGI Costume Fact: The Deadpool costume originally had a muscle layer underneath but it had to be removed. Ryan Reynolds was so muscular, the costume was not only too tight for him, but it made him look overlarge. Ryan Reynolds was allowed to keep his Deadpool costume after filming had completed. Technically he didn't ask to, nor did he give anyone the chance to take it from him. When 20th Century Fox found out about this, the studio just let him keep it. Jump Starter Fact: A three-minute test reel was shot in January 2012 in an attempt to convince the heads of the studio to move forward with the movie. On August 1, 2014, the footage was released (aka: LEAKED) to the public and, based on the overwhelmingly positive response from fans, the film finally began production. The footage was so popular that part of it was recreated for the actual film. This included the opening scene with Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) on the highway which leads to the fight scene in the car.

Personally, I think it's ridiculously funny when people get triggered by a reactor's reaction if it doesn't coincide with their own opinion. Different perspectives help to keep our ideas continually changing and fresh. I enjoy having my thoughts challenged and reevaluating why I feel the way I do about things. Sometimes it reaffirms what I think but other times it makes me realize that I was being somewhat close-minded. Fun reaction to a fun movie. I recommend watching Deadpool 2. It's at least as good as the first. Ultimately, though, I greatly support you watching whatever the #3££ you feel like watching, despite what any of us say. Yep Deadpool is a Marvel character created by Fabian Nicieza, Rob Liefeld and first appeared in New Mutants #98 (December, 1990) becoming one of the most beloved 1990s Marvel characters. The Marvel comics everything from the X-Men to the Avengers all co exist together in a single continuity (Earth-616) and have interacted with each other many times in different stories. The idea of Mutants is also apart of the Marvel comics and a big topic of the X-Men movies so I highly recommend those if you want to learn more about Mutants and the X-Men. But for the films this all has to do with Legal movie licencing rights as in the 1990s when Marvel were facing bankruptcy which they filed for in 1996 they decided to auction off a bunch of IPS. Sony got Ghostrider, Punisher, Spider-Man, Universal got Hulk, and finally Fox got X-Men, Daredevil, and Fantastic Four. So throughout the late 1990s and into the 2000s all of these Marvel films were disconnected from each other in that there was no continuity between them. People did try to have connections to hint that they took place in the same continuity but it never happened. Fox continued to pump out X-Men films while in 2008 Iron Man released creating the MCU a connected universe set in a massive continuity of films and later shows. But because Marvel Studios didn't have the rights to certain characters and teams they were unable to use them. But this did not stop them from trying for example Kevin Feige the president of Marvel Studios and the primary producer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe tried to get a Wolverine cameo in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) as in the comics Captain America did fight alongside Wolverine in WW2 a few times. Same year X-Men: First Class released so both X-Men and the MCU were releasing alongside each other so it made sense for Marvel to try and connect them together so they could have team ups later. I also remember hearing that Hugh Jackman was meant to have a cameo in the first Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movie from 2002. It was about to happen and the idea came down to the slightest problem that they would not have been able to have Wolverine's iconic leather jacket in the X-Men movies in time for the scene in question so it never happened. But of course this never happened and that's why these X-Men movies along with Deadpool aren't connected to the MCU and the events of that universe. They did the same thing with Spider-Man but thankfully Sony agreed and that's why there's MCU Spider-Man films. Tinfoil man lol The movie was essentially written and ready to be made but no studio would greenlight it. Somehow the script leaked at some point to the internet and the fans generated a lot of hype and a studio finally gave in. So it became a success despite studiois wanting nothing to do with it. They made a part 2 which also did very well and part 3 is coming with hugh jackman/wolverine.

Fun fact since you mentioned DC!: You're sort of right. Deadpool is ripped off of the DC villain Deathstroke (Deadpool's name is Wade Wilson, Deathstroke's name is Slade Wilson, I shit you not). They have different color schemes for their suits, but they even look pretty similar. Creator Rob Liefeld denies this, but he's absolutely lying through his teeth. That being said, Deadpool is a fantastic and otherwise wildly different character, who actually does break the fourth wall and talk to the audience in the comics, and the other characters just assume he's talking to himself or lost his mind. Ryan Reynolds worked very hard to make this happen with a relatively small budget because he's a big fan of the character, and Deadpool is also Canadian. EDIT: Fun fact 2: He kept asking for Ajax by the name Francis. None of the people he was asking knew his name was Francis. They weren't refusing to tell him, they literally had no idea who he was talking about. And yeah, in a lot of iterations of Deadpool, his head will grow back the body. I haven't read every comic with him in it, but most of the time he legitimately can't be killed. He has the same super-healing factor as Wolverine. (Hugh Jackman) They might go into it more in Deadpool 3 so I won't ruin it, but Deadpool often heals faster and more thoroughly than Wolverine, and is more or less immortal. Wolverine is much stronger, but technically can die. Lastly, Gina Carrano won't be coming back in anything. She basically blacklisted herself because she couldn't keep her mouth shut spouting a bunch of right wing lunacy to the point she was fired from this franchise and The Mandalorian. It doesn't show it, but when Ryan Reynolds was insulting her while strapped to the gurney, he was ad-libbing those insults. He called her a "less angry Rosie O'Donnell" (O'Donnell is kinda nuts too, but liberal) and she actually punched him in the face for real. He laughed it off, but she's completely unhinged in real life.

Man I watch through your Breaking Bad series as that premiered and loved it so much. Started watching your Better Call Sauls right after and lost track of where I was at and put it on rest. Just last week I've binged every BCS episode and am so happy to be back watching your channel. Love the insight and good times I have watching you watch some of my favorite content. I'd say definitely watch Deadpool 2 if you had a good time with this one, it'll be more of the fun.

that's the thing too many people miss - the entertainment value of this movie. it isn't meant to be a hero movie, with a ''goodwill to all mankind'' message. it's purely a fun movie, with the hero making fun of everything and everyone, including himself

Deadpool is part of the X-Men Universe, also a Marvel property, but Marvel sold off the film rights to Fox in the late 90s when they where having financial difficulties. Similarly, they sold off Spider-Man's film rights to Sony. In the comics, all these characters exist in the same universe and continuity, but film-wise, they didn't start to interact until Disney bought or leased the rights back. The second movie is absolutely worth a watch, but you may want to watch a couple of the X-Men movies first (in particular X-Men, X2, Wolverine: Origins, X-Men: First Class, Wolverine 2, and Logan). You don't have to watch them all, but those ones will either lay the groundwork for the X-Universe, and/or be directly referenced/part of jokes (there were already a few references that you may have missed in this one...) Deadpool 3 is in production now and WILL be part of the MCU, though...

Deadpool belongs to Marvel's X-Men franchise, (but he sold the rights to make movies of these characters to Fox, although he has already recovered them). The second movie is better than the first.

Explaining Deadpool to non comic book readers is difficult. Deadpool has always been a joke character. The creator of the character was tired of the typical comic book hero so he took his frustration out with Deadpool. Breaking the 4th was was always in various comics but not until the 1980s with She Hulk and the 1990s with Deadpool did it become a normal part of mainstream comics. Whenever you see Deadpool is meant to be comedy. He will cross over with other heroes but the Deadpool character or She Hulk character are always there to talk to the audience and make light of the comic book superhero narrative.

Hi Michal!🙂This definitely does not feel like your standard Marvel film. This was back when FOX had the movie rights to the X-Men and Deadpool. The joke in this film is that Tin Foil Man and Mega Sonic are the only two X-Men around in a huge mansion. This was their first movie appearance as X-Men. Since Disney bought FOX, "Deadpool 3" will be part of the official Marvel universe. "Deadpool 2" is definitely worth reacting to, and follows this film nicely. I found your channel earlier this week and have been watching your videos. I have watched all the Rocky and Creed films. I have also watched "Jojo Rabbit", "Guardians of the Galaxy", "Aliens", "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", "The Martian", and "It's a Wonderful Life". Probably your next video for me will be "Galaxy Quest" which has become a big fan favorite. It is nice to see the views of someone not living in American culture, give an outside opinion of films. I took my mom to see this in theater, knowing that he would have a lot of r-rated jokes and gore. What I didn't anticipate was the scene in the strip club. That was kinda awkward to watch with one's mother sitting next to them. lol.
