@@zacgale4231they were? All they did was fight and die. That is not giving a characters things to do. They were cameos through and through. Blade, I’ll admit, was a good surprise. And funny. There was a novelty to finally seeing Gambit. But Elektra? That’s just overkill. Nobody has talked about her for a decade and nobody wanted her. Nor did she really do anything. Totally hollow cameo.
@@king_supreme1102 Fighting IS doing something. It wasn't just an appearance and then they walk off and that's it. They actually did something (fighting counts). And I thought it was cool seeing Elektra.
@@Joker_JAK that’s so cheating. These “cameos” fight in everything they’re in. There is absolutely nothing beyond surface level with these cameos. Compared to other cameos like them. They do the bare minimum. Please don’t try to tell me that this movie just wrote the book on how to do cameos. They didn’t. A cut away to them fighting extras once in a while is nothing to brag about.
That opening credits scene and song/ choreography made this a 5-star all on its own 😭. I haven’t cried laughing in theater like that in a LONG time. Like you I had a blast but not sure how it’ll hold up as time goes. But I always still have that intro 😅. The blood, gore and vulgarity in a Marvel movie makes me feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven. I guess Deadpool really is Marvel Jesus 😂. And THAT cameo, man I wish we had a video/ clip of your reaction 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's because they don't like it a lot of professional critics are hating on it so once again showing that hired paid critics are so out of touch to what most audiences like
The nice little touch during the end credits to pay tribute to the Fox Universe, had the guy sat next to me crying his eyes out. Deadpool and Wolverine was a huge delight, the best Deadpool film, and yes my inner child was ecstatic when a certain character appeared on screen, it was good to see him again, also nice all the other cameos too.
The cameos that had you standing up and clapping got my biggest reaction in the theater. Also, the cameo that had DP say "wait, what?" got my biggest laugh.
This movie was definitely an amazing experience. It was everything that I expected and more. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are so great together. I need more movies of them together for sure.
Im glad i seen it opening night because it didn’t take long scrolling before seeing thumbnails with major spoilers. I feel like being spoiled for this movie would totally change the experience.
If this is the last time we’ll see Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, even though it was perfectly ended with Logan, I’m glad it ends here. Whoever plays the character in the MCU’s version of the X-Men when we get there, that’s going to be some big shoes to fill.
I think they're going to cast a new "main" 20-something-year-old Wolverine in the MCU, but I believe there is a zero percent chance that we don't see Hugh (and Tobey) back for one last ride in Secret Wars.
I’m with u Cody I had an absolute blast. I’m a little worried how it’ll hold up on rewatch and especially at home when the hype has really died down, but for my first experience I was smiling from ear to ear. Such a great time at the movies.
I went on a roller coaster ride of emotions with this one and thanks to the cameos 2 of my favorite marvel characters very unexpectedly were on screen together it was a nice surprise. Finally seeing Hugh Jackman in action in the Wolverine costume almost had me crying.
This was soo good. I love both deadpool and wolverine. The ending for Logan was good but i hated him dying I wish he never did but i know Hugh was done at that point playing him. Im glad he found a way to be back and not look crazy. Its crazy i felt so bad for logan. I almost cried. He really brought the emotion to his scenes.
I saw Deadpool and Wolverine Thursday night with my friend and we had an absolute blast with it. My face was hurting afterward with how much I was laughing and smiling throughout the film. The humor, meta jokes, violence, action, performances were all amazing. This is easily Ryan Reynolds best performance as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s tied best performance as Wolverine alongside Logan. This film was everything I wanted and more so it’s a 9.5/10 for me and an A overall.
Yeah man, I knew that that one particular cameo was going to make you very happy lol. I had an absolute blast with this movie! It was as funny as it was fun and man was it fun! Also, this movie probably had one of my favorite end credit scenes ever! I’m glad you had a good time with it too man!
Deadpool and Wolverine have been in the comics together for a long time… deadpools first movie appearance was in x men origins wolverine it’s not just because Ryan Reynolds’s and Hugh Hackman are friends but that’s probably a big reason it got made
Honestly growing up watching the special cameo's movies, seeing his sendoff kinda made me tear up a bit even though i hadnt seen the movies in a WHILE, it was definitely unexpected and it made me love this franchise even more
Like No Way Home, the movie really did feel like closure for certain characters that really needed it. This is probably my favorite movie I've watched this year. Just a lot of dumb fun.
It was a solid goodbye for the pre MCU era. It has the same problem as No Way Home: You need to know the pre MCU inside out to have the maximum fun. Some scenes don’t hit the way they should when you don’t know the history. But it was a nice experience and finally a good MCU film in a long time.
I am NOT a fan of Deadpool or the Multiverse concept. But I liked Hugh Jackman (as always) as Logan/Wolverine, he was the great straight guy. The buddy comedy was fun, and the action was overall very creative. But because it’s a Deadpool movie first, I feel like I need to see the first 2. And I don’t like that.
That was one of the best superhero movies I’ve ever seen and it’s a dream come true. I’ve always wanted to see Hugh in the yellow suit team up with Deadpool and I got that. The other things are just cherries on top that further improved the movie for me. Overall, just felt like a love letter to the fans and I can’t wait to rewatch it 1000 times.
Cody, been watching your reviews since year one of your channel. Love the content and I will continue to support. With that being said, this is my first “negative” comment here. More like a constructive criticism tbh The way you explained the cameos, it’s pretty spoilery. Not for me, because I’ve seen the movie. But it’s pretty much says who it is lol. Also, it sucks that deadline spoiled the movie on Twitter. I do not follow them. I only saw their tweet, because you commented about it. So their video was brought to my timeline due to your tweet. Please be mindful of those things. Other than that, thank you for all the content. Much appreciated. This is coming from a fan.
The one cameo that happened as soon as i seen the character walking i knew i clapped and yelled in excitement. I loved it so much. Omg! I hope it isnt the end and somehow they can be brought back. I feel like anything is possible with the multi verse. Im here for it too.
I personally feel like this one will hold up on rewatch. I’m a little shocked at some of the negative reception it’s receiving. It delivers as a Deadpool sequel, another really great outing for Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and as a love letter to those of us who grew up with the fox superhero movies. I’ll agree not all of the jokes land but a good chunk of them do, and the cameos were great (IMO).
Hey Cody. Absolutely had a blast with this film and I think you called out what this film did right acknowledging the flaws its own MCU has. That was refreshing. I think people need not overthink plotlines here. Deadpool has a nice funny quip about macguffins that was spot on. This movie does have that standalone novelty feel, but it's perfect for the two main characters. The chemistry between those two is off the charts and brings me back to buddy/duo comedies of the 90s, which I am here for. Loved majority of the cameos and I along with the whole crowd laughed out loud a ton during this movie. Perfect Summer Movie IMO.
As the one guy who doesn't get a lot out of Deadpool, despite enjoying the movies well enough, I loved this one. Easily my favorite of the trilogy. Funny, gripping and better controlled than the often overindulgence of the first 2. And those cameos were yummy!
Just saw it. There was a scene I saw where I was like "I bet that excited cody!" Iykyk. I went for like a prayer. I don't watch superhero movies but I'm glad I saw this.
So it sounds like you didn’t have any comic book fatigue coming out! That’s awesome that this was finally able to provide that for you after so much exhaustion. I myself loved it too!
Just watched it n really enjoyed it tbh; Logan is definitely 1 of my favourite films of the last decade and they honoured it well here. The cameos really worked
I’m one of those who didn’t care for the story which would have been easily overlooked if it didn’t take me 30-40 mins to have my first laugh. DPW was alright but I much prefer the previous 2 DP movies for the comedy entertainment value
My second watch was a version from the high seas and, not being in an audience laughing with others, it’s definitely a lesser experience. My 3rd viewing will be in the theater again.
Such a great movie. There was times I was actually shocked, which is'nt usual for me. And times i could help but laugh oit loud in the cinema when no one else seemed to find it funny. LOL.
Cody I absolutely loved your reviews on the Dexter series & know you’re a massive fan like myself. Hoping to hear your thoughts on the announced two shows coming with Michael C Hall on board. Would make a great video 🙏
I had a blast with this movie!! It’s so irreverent! lol I had a blast with all the cameos and the jokes are hilarious. I saw it with a huge crowd and loved the poking of fun at personal lives. That killed me lol
Eh they do get the credit for not destroying Deadpool. They let Levy and Reynolds do what they wanted to do. They have interfered a ton in characters and movies before. The rated R style of Deadpool genuinely was a concern of Disney would let them go as R as they did. And they didn’t put any reigns on them.
Deadpool and wolverine was great I saw it today the fights are great The cameos was pulled off great Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are funny 🤣 together
I loved this movie and was lucky not having it being spoiled for me 😍💙. The reason why I don't watch your reviews of movies I know I'm gonna watch or love until I watch the film, like with this one, is because of how similar my opinions and tastes are to yours. Agreed with every single one of your points 🤟🏼
I had a great time with the movie and I’m thankful the cameos actually served a role in the movie. I know know a certain cameo sent you into the biggest applause. Ima need a spoiler review asap so I can get your full thoughts into that certain cameo. For me the first cameo was the one to get the biggest reaction out of me. This movie may not have had the big sentimental story telling that the first two movies had I didn’t mind bc it was so entertaining. Hugh Jackman truly ever left as Wolverine bc he was great. This movie is a 9/10 making such a great movie with a great duo to follow. Laughed my ass off sm during this movie (90% of the time).
I did the same thing when the person appeared in the movie as well, Cody. I wasn't expecting to see that person in this film. Overall, an excellent 'R' rated superhero film with excellent performances between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
Because I know you are such a huge fan of certain characters I'm glad you didn't get spoiled before you saw this film. I wish I could have seen your reaction
I’m a HUGE movie lover/fanatic and aspiring actress. I’ve already watched 24 new releases this year in the movie theater including Deadpool and Wolverine. Deadpool and Wolverine was a blast! It alone with Bad Boys 4 Ride or Die are the funniest time I had in the movie theater all year long. I loved the meta humor in Deadpool and Wolverine and the cameos especially one that really shocked me in particular. I would love for you to re-rank the Deadpool, X-Men and Marvel franchises. This was another good movie review. ❤❤❤❤
Also this might be the most interesting Wolverine/Logan that we’ve ever seen. And regular Logan is already pretty interesting. But one who lost his whole world and himself, and then found and saved not only every world but also himself. He has been born again with all his failures and knowledge! So interested in him as a dude being here!
My fiancé and I were in our car squealing like kids for those cameos, especially when *mhmhm* came in. I was eager to see your review cause I relate a lot with you on that person and I’m like I KNOW that made Cody’s night cause it for sure made mine.
It was a blast almost thought that “certain special” cameo should have had more of a sub plot star moment to steal the show even more so than they did but so glad they got the time for what it was worth. I was hoping for another Nickelback song tho! It’s cool they got Avril but Nickelback should be automatic!
Considering what they have coming out next is that Agatha movie, I'm not holding out hope of this fixing the MCU, but as long as they give us an entertaining Deadpool and Wolverine movie here, I'm satisfied with that. So hearing that is indeed what this movie is, I'm very pleased in knowing that, and can totally see myself checking this out. Thank you, Cody.
Cody I generally feel the same way about superhero movies as you do about kaiju movies but after watching this one I might have to revisit some of the back catalog of MCU I ignored. Most fun I've had in a theatre in a while.
Agreed on the positive way it treated the Fox Marvel universe. After the Wandavision debacle I had little faith they wouldn't turn everything into a big joke but they were actually incredibly respectful. Guess they learned that lesson lol. And I was waiting for your reaction to *that* cameo lol!
I feel you on this. I laughed so much but the guy next to me laughed like every joke and every dilogue I was like okay that's funny but not that funny. But my experience with the movie is a 10/10.
One of the Best time I ever had at the movies! It was so much great fan service easter eggs from the comics and previous movies that had me grinning from ear to ear!
