When Steve T said black metal sound strange in major scales, Deafheaven came along and were like "oh don't worry, we'll prove you wrong"

This is the culmination of everything Deafheaven is about. Absolutely incredible. Best song of their careers which is already overflowing with great songs. Monumental band.

Deafheaven is like the porter robinson of metal. No one knows what the hell to label them but they're sunny as hell for the genre and deserve the blow up they're getting.

First time hearing this song was when they played it live. When the rest of the band began singing background vocals while the singer growled his ending verse I was absolutely lost in the moment, what a stunner of a song. Amazing band, hope they're enjoying this wild ride they're on.

I'm not a spiritual person, but listening to this song is a spiritual experience. You feel it in your bones.

Funny how people keep comparing and saying "this song has xxxxx song vibes". To me this is one of those songs that just reminds you of something familiar even if you've never listened to it before. It drives you straight back home.

A masterpiece. In a thousand years when someone is studying music in the Bay Area around our era… this is what I’d hope they’d hear. I’m proud of it and I had nothing to do with it lol.

I really love how they showcase all of their influences on here. You could really tell that these guys listen to everything. I like how they bounce around every major sound that has been influential to them, but the core of the song is their biggest influence, an influence that is a black metal oriented sound.

The 90's vibe in this new material is really reaching deep down into a lot of us. All of Deafheaven's music reaches us deep down, but I imagine that I'm not the only 28 year old who's feeling warm and fuzzy nostalgia mixed with excitement. Hell yeah.

This music is so, dynamic and not static volume wise like some metal. I am so glad so much different metal exists now. Ordinary Corrupt Human Love is one of the most beautiful metal/rock albums out there I think.
