MDLee, you delivered the goods again!. Just picked these up at my local store. No advertising in the store, and the staff did not know about this deal. I would not have known about this without your video. Thanks!
Just purchased these sets, thanks to your advice. Thought it would be worth it to give them a try. This is the third time I had to thank you for a deal alert. Best wishes from the cold north.
Advanced Auto online cancelled my online order today , that I placed last night ... No explanation.... So I stopped in the store and grabbed a set off the shelf ...
mdlee52 they’re pretty nice, I’ve been eyeballing them for a while. Can’t beat the price. The rails are different between them. The sae ones are in a channel, and metrics wrap the outside.
It helped me out. I didn't even finish the video, went right to the store and bought that set and a 3/8 deep socket set and 1/4 deep socket set. Half off. GREAT deal. Thanks
Tool Guy Ty their gearwrench ratcheting wrenches are made in tiawan, and china. Huge difference between the two in quality. The boxed end is a lot thicker, and the open end is made wider across the flats as well. Also the chrome finish is much softer. No better than the crap husky or harbor freight. I hope the ratchets and sockets don't follow. .
Yeah your 3/8” socket set is the 80550, I used to have the same set for a few weeks. That 50% off on a Taiwan set of Gearwrench is an awesome deal. Those flex sockets are handy. I only have an SK set of the SAE and I’ve actually used those more than I thought I would when I bought them.
Thanks Buck. Only one store had them in stock out of 3 in my town, and I just put the online order in. I have been wanting a set of these for a while buy have been holding off.
BAM! Thanks for the heads up, just did a order online pick up in store for both metric and sae as well as two different socket assortment on rails... come on $8.49 for like 15 sockets and $12.49 for another with maybe 13 sockets??? Who knows but I needed them and that’s a bargain! Totally appreciate the heads up.
What I don't like about the Gearwrench rails is the way the middle clips have little/no grip to the rail. That's the difference in "internal" clips to "external" clips. I like the clip to stay put when a socket is removed.
U can still use the speed perks on sale items. I do all the time. As long as the item is over $20. I just got the gearwrench 40pc torx and hex bit set for $19.99 with the perks. Thanks mdlee52
Well I made my rounds...Stopped at Sears and replaced a couple cracked deep sockets, Harbor freight to replace 4 torx bit sockets and Advanced Auto to pick up the metric swivel socket set I've had my eye on for over a year but didn't want to spend $40+ on...lol
Mine came on the carded style with the plastic thats sandwiched together then cardboard sandwiched in with it to making it impossible to steal any instore theyre taiwan made aswell. I think its how the retailer selects the packaging for their display.
Yeah I played way more for my metric flex sockets. Like I yelled twenty dollars out loud. I picked up the stubby wrenches, hoping I might get lucky and they are Taiwanese.
I went to online tool vendors and when I click on the sockets on my screen it auto presses screw drivers which is 3 buttons up there something wrong with that website
Thanks, I see that now. It's the coupon that expires today. However I wasn't able to apply the coupon to the GearWrench sale items, and wasn't able to get it shipped to Hawaii even w/ $45 in my cart. So store availability was my only option.
