DEALING IN RIBA (USURY/INTEREST) IS A MAJOR SIN IN ISLAM | BY DR ZAKIR NAIK ACTS PERMITTED DURING FASTING : EPISODE 20 RAMADHAAN - A DATE WITH DR ZAKIR Video Code: RDD_EP 20_3
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, Sir, My name is Asadullah Shaikh from Pakistan. I'm buying a car from bank as "Car Ijarah", but I have two confusions; 1. From which bank I buy a car as per "Car Ijarah", they also ask us to sign on the contract where the condition is "If I delay the monthly installment then I've to pay some extra money as charity" as per their saying, but Alhumdulillah we have a shop and we are sure that we will be able to pay all installments on the time or before the deadline. So If I sign the contract and pay all the installments on the time will it be halal to buy that car from the bank? 2. The bank also want us to pay some extra money in down payment for takaful insurance of that car because in the period of installments which is 2 or 3 years the car owner of that car will be the bank, and as per we believe that insurance is haram so can we pay that money also? Because the owner is bank and after the period of installments they'll gift us that car. Kindly help me by answering.
Assalamualaikum. I just recently realized i maybe involved in riba . My parents built my house with a hefty loan with inteterest. The house was in my name and they are still paying off the interest. Is it a for me too? What can i do
Interestingly Naik admits there are different views in Islam. Modernist scholars do not accept that all interest = riba, but that riba represents exploitive payments as charged nowadays by loan sharks and pawnbrokers, and by unscrupulous moneylenders at the time of the prophet. Consequently there is not a consensus (ijma) on interest, and hence no grounds by scholars to prohibit it universally.
@@great87 Your comments "be not like the Jews" - I am not sure what "the Jews" have to do with this subject. "the text is clear" Caliph Umar Khattab (companion of the prophet) says in his hadith he was not sure what the prophet meant by riba. In fact there are a variety of scholarly opinions on what riba was.
In the surahs he is mentioning (1:00 - 1:18) it’s all about consuming or taking interests. So acc. my understanding it’s haram taking it but not paying it. Can anyone clarify please?
*My brothers and sisters* This is for those who are living in non-islamic countries. All muslims have a common goal. The goal is to earn as much good deeds so we can have a house in Paradise. This means we need to make sacrifices. You don't have to make arguments trying to make something that is unlawful to lawful. If you are by some reason forced to take a loan that contains interests/rates/usury/riba then you should definitely think about moving. I live in a european country and I have never head about people being forced to buy property. An-Nisa' - The Women - 4:97 - `Was not Allâh´s earth spacious enough for you to have emigrated therein?
I am being forced to take a student loan out by a family member and I cant say no, i dont know what to do i even explained to them it is haram and they dont care..... I dont know what to do its been stressing me out and I havent ate for 2 days. Ya allah help me
Because Allah and Rasullullah said so in Quran and hadiths. Like what Dr Zakir Naik have explained; even the one who is recorded, and the witnesses will also get the portion of the sin. There are maybe many wisdom or hikma that we can find behind the reason of why it is haram (like making poor people poorer, etc). But that's just the hikma or wisdom that we might find. And It can be right, and it can be wrong too. Hence it's not the reason of why the law itself existed like that. And it's also not our consideration materials (based our thinking) of whether we should follow it or not. It's like for example; we don't ask of why salah fajr 2 rakaah, while dhuhur and asr 4 rakaah. Because we don't know for sure of the why, unless its Allah himself that state the reasons of it in Quran or Rasullullah explaining it to us.
The main mistake Islamic scholars make while speaking on this issue is, islamic finance was never based on paper money. It was based on gold and silver currency: dinar and dirham. As these money had "intrinsic value" in it, meaning the coin itself had enough gold in it, there was no inflation of that. paper backed currency and monetary system should have been haraam (if it was possible) , cause the worthless papers make hyper inflation and interest. Quranic verses are based on gold coins. So first of all, if interest is defined as haram in banking , then all existing so called Islamic banking profits are haram as well. But my personal opinion is, intrest upto inflation rate should be halal, since it is not profit making. If only maintains the value same.
Why living on rent daily even after your treatment and living as a poor person when Allah s.w.t. has given you the chance and means to build a house for your family and your parents?
If you have already bought it there is nothing much you can do. maybe take money from a family member and pay them all at once and get rid of the loan.
So what is my solution to buy a $500,000 house in NY which is the median price of a home if my salary is $75,000 and my wife is $52,000? Save over a period of time?
@J Knox you're the one making it hard to understand and complicated for everyone. Moe Chowdhury, these people cannot understand the struggle of living in NY or anywhere in the US. In this world of uncertainty, even getting a mortgage in itself is a huge task, and then these so called mujtahids top this up with their laws (now they'll say its not their law, its Islamic law!). Allah SWT is ghaffoor ur raheem. If you're earning halal money and lets say at the time of judgement they are proved right, Allah will forgive you inshaAllah. But my question to these keyboard aalims is this: What if they are proved wrong on the judgement day? How will they seek forgiveness for intentionally or unintentionally making hard working people living in west more skeptical and miserable? What if Allah said did I not say I am ghaffoor ur rahim? What if Allah said did I not clearly tell you what is specifically haram for you? Moe Chodhury, please be at ease, satisfied with your halal intention of securing a futuristic investment. Read namaz five times a day, read Quran, and submit to Allah. Wallah Aaalim.
J Knox “what’s so hard to understand” try living in America under this rule, it’s extremely difficult and almost impossible to live under it here 🤦🏿♀️
Shelter is important but owning a property is not, I’m from Melb and don’t own a property either but pretty sure Allah will make a way for it. Belief in Allah is very important.
@@ok-sw3st Then move! Did not Allah create more than one country, did he not create a whole world for you to live in. There is no halal way to interest. You either choose to please desire, choose to please people, or the only hope anyone really truly has is to please Allah.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There are seventy-two types of riba, the least of which is like a man committing incest with his mother.” Narrated by al-Tabaraani in al-Awsat; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, no.3537
@J Knox Yes brother thank you. No i never interest or take loans in my life or my father and i am very grateful to Allah even if he give me small house.
J Knox if i rent a house ill be paying for the rest of my life. If i put a down payment and pay 2,000 a month for 30 years i’ll help my family and the next generations for my family. But rent i can pay 2,000 for 60 years and not gain anything. Im losing money. Im not helping my children or grandchildren. And for interest. Y would someone lend me money and not expect profit after 30 years. For example, say the bank lends me 300k. After 30 years ive finished the 300k. But they havent gained anything from it. If they continue this their whole system will fail. If a random guy asks me for 20k i wouldn’t think about it. What do i gain? I dont know u. I wont have the 20k back this year or next year. But if he pays me 23k then ive made 3k in 2 years help another guy out who doesnt have a lot at once but can pay monthly without having to struggle. I have to make sure he dorsnt struggle.(credit score) or else ill be putting him in a position to fail or id lose money. And keep in mind i dont know this guy. Can u give me of examples riba back then because I honestly dont see how interest can be haram. When i searched up the definition of riba it said usury or unjust exploitive gains. Usury is high rates of interest not just normal interest. Usury is taking advantage of someone who isn’t as wealthy as u. Or forcing them because they have no other way because they dont have money. Because of interest ur making profit and theyre getting a home equal trade.
Asalam o alaikum, janab me ye janna chahta hon quran me to srif RIBA (Sood khana wale) lene wala se aelane jang ka kaha gaya he, to is sorat me dono ko (sood khane wale, aur sood dene wale ko) same q kaha ja raha he. is k sath sath hadees me jo lene wale aur dene wale and us se sath witnesses and writer ko bhi is me qasoor war kaha ja raha he. to kis is hadees me koi condition apply hoti he kia? meri aik dukan he jo mene bank se loan leke open ki he, 4saal ho cuke hain, aur mazeed 4 saal ka laon utarna abhi baqi he. ab agr ye haram he, to is silsile me main kese is se jan churaon. please help. thanks
"Equivalent to doing zina with his mother" . I take issues with the authenticity of this hadith. Why such a perverse line of thinking? It doesn't sound devine ....it sounds like it was created by perverse male mind

This man has great knowledge about islam, but not taking a loan and paying interest in Europe for instance, goes against the core values of Islam. This is how; If you don't own a house, you'll have to pay rent for the rest of your life, that means you will not eventually own a house to finance your next generations for development of education or sports, (if they refused to take student loans of course by following the same concept). If you are in that situation, help yourselves, because this is catastrophic financial situation for your next generations. Wouldn't you feed pork to your children if you saw them starving? Same goes for taking a loan to simply buy a property
Faiz Haneef not right away, no, death by a thousand tiny cuts. Right now people who rent are being thrown on the streets. People who work two jobs overtime. Walk two moons...
Faiz Haneef I am not confused. It’s always good to study other religions, but I would only become confused if I took the Quran as the end all be all truth - for if it was pure truth there would be zero doubt.
Josef K there is no doubt it’s bcuz corruption has spread so much it’s become easy for Satan to cast doubts, these are clear verses and protect us and test the true believers may Allah The One and Truely God guide us all .
