Same!! It also helps not to answer right away. I try to relax and then go to my computer to answer. Luckily I haven't gotten any bad reviews yet, but I have gotten requests to change things in products.
I got a 2 star review on a positive/negative space drawing worksheet because “didn’t help the behavior of a particularly rowdy high school class” I was thinking, how in the world did you think a worksheet was going to solve your classroom management problems? But I actually responded by creating a more advanced version of the worksheet and adding it to the product. She said it didn’t fix their behavior problems because it wasn’t challenging enough…
Edit: I obviously commented before finishing the video 🤣 I hate when a review is nice but only 4 stars are given. Like what do I do to get 5 stars from you? I need constructive feedback!
Not on TpT, but I got a low review for a free resource saying there wasnt enough included and there needed to be more non-cvc words. The product was a cvc picture word match...
My main freebie is a lesson plan template for a popular early childhood curriculum. I got a request from a director of a preschool who wanted me to send her a completed version of the lesson plan for her teachers to model their lessons after. 🤔 Umm…why don’t you do that so it meets your particular expectations and standards for your program??! Mine are likely not the same…🤦🏻♀️
I've had some great questions what have lead me to make so great updates to my products. The only really strange one was someone saying "how to purchase" (i explained, they never bought)
Because my products are not editable, a buyer said I was “treating customers like potential criminals.” I Googled the buyer, who was advertising on his website: “COMING SOON-Course planning materials for those who want to teach a course but need help with the planning.”
My unfavorable comment was how my resource had a lot of “what did this word mean?” Kind of questions and they expected more so I got one star. I reviewed my resource to see if it was unbalanced but I just didn’t see what I could do. In my description I said that I had vocabulary and other question types. I kindly asked the reviewer what sort of question types she’d suggest so I could improve it and I noted that my assessments were on Google forms and editable to fit their needs.
“These questions are AMAZING! I wish there were more though.”- 3 stars 💔 (My description, title, and thumbnail all say the amount of questions provided)
I wanted to have a Google Slide deck and a single page PDF for one product today. I found out you can't change the size of just one slide. So I added a slide with a link to go to a pdf, and uploaded both things into one Google folder. It seemed to work but how silly. Then I had trouble because I uploaded a pdf preview and tried to add a video preview. There wasn't any "too big" or "wrong format", it was less than 45 sec, but it didn't seem to load to the product page. Can you not have both?
