Nora and Nicole openly speak about a topic that is usually avoided: Menopause. The symptoms and changes affect every woman at some point.
Most women have symptoms: For one in three, they are so severe that their quality of life and ability to work suffer greatly. Nora and Nicole are both affected. Nicole is a bodybuilder trying to cope with loss of libido and hot flashes. Nora has experienced deep depression. Both want to break the taboo about menopause. A report by Tessa Clara Walther.

I have never enjoyed winter as much as this year, when I started going through menopause at 51. When it was 5F degrees outside, and everyone didn't want to go out, I put on a coat and walked a few miles without sweating like a beast. It was heavenly. I want to move to the arctic circle for a few years.

I agree that exercise is a major weapon in fighting off the misery of menopause. I have learned that it has become more important to stretch afterwards than it used to be when I was younger and to try to stay flexible so my joints don't keep getting stiffer, but hopefully my future 85-year-old self will thank me for doing that. I didn't think of the increased irritability as being yet another part of the joy of womanhood, but at least now I can explain it to myself and fret over it a bit less.

Thank you for the doc. I was suffering symptoms for years without knowing or even related to perimenopause/menopause. The lack of the expertise and know how from the GPs didn’t really helped me. Finally after 3 years struggle I finally got the proper treatments. HRT combined with the right nutrition and regular exercises are the keys to help women with menopause symptoms. I wish the medical industries and the society could put more focus on helping and educating women and the future generations about this topic.
@captainhickey2608
@captainhickey2608 Год назад
We don't learn about it in medical school (worldwide applicable) Why not when 52% of the population will suffer with it? A workshop? We are way past education its time for a solution (for everyone) but nobody has one and wants to take the time or resources to create a proper approach for all women. FYI - HRT doesn't work on all symptoms or at all for a lot of women. Women go through a range of extreme hormonal changes considered 'normal' during their life cycle, its way past time there was better everything - understanding, discussion, support, resources and above all else solutions.

Cannabis has helped me a lot - in my opinion it's a miracle plant! I had severe hot flashes, night sweats etc etc, and when I smoked cannabis, my body was instantly put into homeostasis. Cannabis works like a supplement to the endocannabinoid system in the body that regulates for example body temperature. It was incredible, and ever since then I no longer have problems with hot flashes. Women used to use cannabis for these kinds of things before, before all the 'war on drugs' came. Cannabis is a healing plant, not only for menopause issues, but for other things too (seizures, Parkinson etc etc), it really is a medicine plant. Just sharing, I always do because women need to know that there are ways that can help! (And I live in Spain where it's legal for personal use).
@MariaErving
@MariaErving Год назад
@@sagebay2803 Thanks for sharing - it's important! I had a lot of menopause challenges and the hot flashes were brutal, I tried 'everything'; Vitamins, diet change, supplements, water fasting, OMAD, and what not, but then when I tried cannabis the relief was instant and I'm not exaggerating, it was instant, like a miracle. I can still get a hot flash every now and then but that's always because of too much coffee/caffeine, or if I had some alcohol (or spicy food/strong cheese), those things can trigger the hot flashes/night sweats, but otherwise I'm okay now thank god. And that's thanks to cannabis. It's the only 'supplement' I take nowadays. That was also something I realized, that vitamins and supplements are often too much for the body to process/handle, so sometimes if I take a vitamin pill or whatever, I can get hot flashes from them too. Just something to think about and experiment with to see what happens if you stop taking them (just speaking generally/to every woman out there suffering). I know a lot of women who take massive amounts of vitamin pills and supplements and to me that just makes everything worse. Regarding exercise; I can't do cardio (get a sweat up) as it can trigger hot flashes (for me) but swimming is really good, and walking too, I love walking/hiking. We (women) have to just experiment and remove certain things to see what triggers the hot flashes and not give up if nothing seems to work, that was something I was very determined to do; to find relief, and I did. I know other women have too, cannabis has been used by women (and people overall) for thousands of years before it was banned, and I know that as we share these things and talk about them, more research can be done, not only for women's health, but also for all the other things it can help with.
@MariaErving
@MariaErving Год назад
@@sagebay2803 Glad to hear it was helpful to you 😊 Yes, I got those nudges too, to stop taking all the supplements/vitamins, and it really helped. When you're desperate you try anything, I even tried magic mushrooms (both trip and micro-dosing), but cannabis is absolutely the number one thing that has helped the most. Not only with the hot flashes but also with brain fog, insomnia etc, all the common symptoms of menopause. I tried HRT too (Hormone Replacement Therapy) but that didn't work for me, it just made everything worse, plus added some side effects too, like swollen fingers, nausea, and some other things I don't remember anymore. Not to say HRT can't help - obviously it can, many women take them and it helps them. It's the same with cannabis, we're all different, and I did a lot of trial and error in the beginning too; tried different CBD oils, hashish, different weed strains etc before I found what works for me. So the most important thing is to not give up and resign to just 'tough it out', but to keep doing research and experimenting and you'll (any woman out there suffering) will eventually find what works for you. If cannabis can help you, then I'm thrilled and very happy for you. There's nothing worse than the hot flashes, so to have found a relief - I simply have to share it with other women! I'm so glad to hear you're off the pills and that you have found a medical marijuana doctor who could help you. We don't have that yet here in Spain, but I definitely think it will come. We're getting there, and I'm so glad to see cannabis be on the rise even if it's a slow process before the 'world' catches up on our revelations/discoveries. I did the carnivore diet too, but only for a short moment, it wasn't for me, but I'm glad to hear it works for you so thank you too for sharing tips! 😊

I have been in full menopause for 10 years. It was crazy early for me.. my periods stopped at 36. Three years earlier I had developed a new bewildering problem of complete insomnia (horrible: a full seven days without an hour of sleep) and agitation and anxiety. I lost 20 lbs without trying (I was down to 98 lbs at the doctor’s office with clothes and winter boots still on. I looked horrible. At 33, peri menopause was NOT at all thought of by me or anyone else. Early menopause wasn’t a thing in my mother or aunt or grandmother. In fact my grandmother had no trouble conceiving three children (twins+ my mom) in her 40s. If I knew what was happening, I could’ve saved professionals a lot of time and tests and gained as much peace of mind as the condition would allow me to feel 😝

Not really - can you imagine what life would be like when your wife is going through menopause?

Phenomena like menopause make me sort of believe the story that women were created after men. In other words, that women were meant as an upgrade over the baseline human version (men) but ended up being overcomplicated and failure prone. A similar analogy is modern cars vs cars from the 70's: these older cars seem to run forever, are easier to work on, can get you from point A to B but pollute more, and the modern ones are stuffed with electronics which improve comfort, safety, but have a higher failure rate and are a nightmare to troubleshoot.😂😂😂😂 Jokes aside, I wonder if the two genders originated simultaneously or not.🧐

Sure than can. They can get pregnant too. I mean, no one really knows what a woman is anyway.

@@michaeltellurian825 apparently all cis women who cannot go through menopause are no longer women, according to Michael here. Thankfully people are learning about the complexities of the world and don't see everything as if through the eyes of a 3-year-old who is too stupid to understand that not everything is black-and-white.

If you have a vagina you can get it. Otherwise not. Simple as that. This has nothing to do with feeling but with bioligy.
