So interesting...I had 3 teeth extracted on Tuesday: 1 up, 2 down, with novocaine. I was not prepared for how hard it would hit me. You are SO right about the toll it takes on our bodies, and it makes sense when you think about it. Our bodies had to resort to the healing mode, keeping infections away, and replenishing the blood lost during the procedure, not to mention the ENERGY. I've been oversleeping since then, because I needed to. I hope you are back to yourself soon. I'm not quite there yet.
Being unwell makes us feel fragile and that fragility can bring on our fears. Your taking care if yourself. Sending you blessings and healing energies, Colette.
Dear Colette, look at you, you're in control of the good things and things not so good. This is life and every day is a blessing, consider all you/we have and enjoy. From the minute to the grand. What an exciting and rewarding time you've had so far. Doing mostly everything by yourself. Painting, sewing, writing, redecorating the kitchen. What a remarkable job on how the kitchen turned out.🎆 Now take a deep breath and take care of yourself. Blessings to you, and hugs to Patsy. 💖💖Jersey Ann from NJ in US
Do you recall that dental skit from the Carol Burnett show. Watch it. Laugh until you cry. Will help you drain those eustachian tubes. The crying that is. I feel as older women we do not allow ourselves to weep.😢
I love your honesty Colette. Keep Arnica in mind for after dental work, also propolis mouthwash and hypericum/calendula herbal tinctures, all excellent.
You work hard taking care of the garden and when you feel low, you sit outside and the garden takes care of you. (By the way, that stove and wall look so good together.)
I'm finding out that the older I get the more fragile I feel when ill. As you said, it is important that we take the time even if it means staying in bed a day to get our rest so we can heal. Sleeping is the healer make sure you get enough of it. Oh, and I have learned that swishing your mouth with salt water will help your mouth heal faster. I hope you get better soon! ❤
so true,,you feel invincible but then a small thing knocks you back,,, I am 68 and look after horses so quite tough but i slipped off a bank recently and although ok I do feel less confident,,,,its maddening lols
Having one tooth out is hard enough let alone two at once they are making you rest after your beautiful kitchen sending you Light Love &Blessings Thankyou always you light up my life !!!
Oh!! I LOVE UNFORGOTTEN! watch it here in Cincinnati on PBS. I love my evenings with my European mystery shows!! I am a European in my heart!! Blessings to you Colette. I hope you get feeling better soon!!💖
I don't know how I know you now...but I know you now and you know me now. Blessings from an Irish sister from across the pond. 🍀 I hope you feel better soon. 🌼
With your ear getting sore I am worried an infection may be starting. I am genuinely concerned about you and hope my worries are unwarranted. Often times worrying is unwarranted, so I will continue to worry as obviously it helps😉.
Thank you for taking the time to do this video. It sounds like you're doing exactly what you need to do, you're taking care of yourself and being gentle. I too have found that dental work is traumatic for my whole body, but when it needs to be done, I need to do it. Sending you Blessings, Love and Healing!
I've had nearly all my wisdom teeth removed that were compacted and painful, and I know how uncomfortable that felt each time! All I wanted to do after, was lie down, watch an old favourite film and eat soup! Look after yourself, and give yourself time to recover Colette.
Oh Collette I giggled when you said you signed up for Netflix 😃You will come to savour your time in the dead of winter and a hot cup of tea and your 'Netflix'. Enjoy🥰🇨🇦
You are always on a mission, dear Colette. The most recent was your kitchen remodeling, with you being the ever diligent painter. You also made quite a few decisions about what treasures to keep and which ones to pass on. And then came your dental work when your body was already a bit under the weather. It's okay to lay low and give yourself a much needed rest. You can take this time to dream of new projects for later. And maybe you feel like knitting for a bit. Get well, you dear soul❤
Hello Collete, wishing you a speedy recovery, don't put too many demands on yourself a wee Midsommer Murder binge should help :) Best Wishes to you and Patsy girl.
Thank you for sharing 'real life' with all of us. I hope the beautiful sanctuary you've created around yourself, envelopes and heals you calmly and quickly. Blessings to you! 💚💚💚💚💚

Blessings to you Colette, and hope you mend fast… I always do the fresh ginger tea it helps me with the pain from the dentist. Blessings to you and have a good week ahead❤️ Earlena from America❤️❤️❤️❤️
I too had to have a lower back tooth out a few months back, and it was a difficult extraction, I also had a gum infection, so it took about a month of a lot of pain before things started to get better, then I had to go back, as my top back tooth had some broken off it, so I had it filled, but it was very traumatic, and I am still getting tooth ache from it over a week later - the dentist said I may still have to have it taken out, but that it is my last remaining molar tooth, so good if I could hang onto it. I had not been out of my home for 4 years, before a friend had to take me to the dentist, so it has been quite a traumatic experience to say the least! The pain is getting me down, and I just hope it will settle down and be ok. I hope that you will feel more like yourself soon Colette, as it is so horrible when we have to have these things done to us! Blessings to you and Patsy too, from Jilly & Madge, from West Devon, England. xxx
I really love your channel. There is something so peaceful about walking through your garden and seeing all the latest changes through the seasons. By the way I love your latest hairdo. It's so cute on you, very modern and classy. I think it really suits you.
You are so right that invasive western procedures on our bodies are a “shock” to our overall well-being, especially if we are used to a more natural maintenance of ourselves! I think you definitely deserve some Netflix, you’ve worked so hard for the last 20+ years to achieve Bealtaine and financial independence. Enjoy, and you can always subscribe and unsubscribe as necessary. I loved the Unforgotten series!
Gargle with warm salt water and rest and restore your health with a place of nurturing for yourself during this period of healing. I am very glad that the worst of this experience is behind you. It is a huge shock to your entire system. Please don't over do things ❤ It is a process of healing and preventing any infections .No shame in watching the movies, programs and other types of things that can supply you with rest and relaxation. Napping is a great way to find the peace and ease of recovery. Outside and not being active and more of a place of healing and day dreaming and not over doing things because of your passion and dedication to live with purpose and immensely powerful and energetically significant daily activities that are ongoing and motivated by your love for life and the focus on achieving your goals and your objectives. Right now is a very important time for you to enjoy the fruits of your labor and be present and joyously aware of your health and well-being. Just a mother's concern for you to get well and to remain grounded in your life now with the healing and the need for tenderness and gentleness in nurturing for yourself. It's just that I love you ❤
Take time to recover don't rush it you have common sense a cosy home beautiful views and your cute companion. So hope you feel well soon bless yer sending hugs and warm wishes 😊❤xx
Time outdoors is so healing, isn’t it? Please be gentle with yourself. It sounds like you’re doing all the things to take kind care of yourself. Wishing you a return to full health soon. I love the painting over the stove! ❤
Thank you for the gentle reminder about self-care and I wish you swift full health. My Mummy said the same, once when I was a young child, that she and I had 'a bit of the gypsy' in our souls. Autumn is in full swing here in Yorkshire, it seemed that as soon as the manmade clocks said Sep 1st that Air changed. The blackbirds left and the robin returned. I've just gotten over a deep stray cat bite 4 wks ago and I'm still letting my self nap when the urge hits me. Thanks for the viewing tip 🙃💜
Dearest Colette, I had my left knee replaced nearly two years ago. Then hadan infection for a full year. Your precious videos hhelped get me through the worst pain of my life. I literally held on to the light of your candle, and many others lit for me by frends, to get back to health. But I am here today to say that magic is real and we have immense powers of recovery and healing. Thanks to you and the other Gooddess women in my life I am back working outside n our 10acre forest home….With the help of a friend I was able this past year to build a small cottage here to house a woman friend in her retiirement. Every day of that work made me stronger through the pain….Now dear sister my candle is lit for you and all who may need help…We must hold each other up through th storms…Blessings always..
Dearest Colette, please be well and allow the house your spirit dwells in the time and loving cooperation it needs to heal. I do understand that unsettling feeling of vulnerability when not well. But it will pass! Just flow and take in the beauty all around you that you have created and nurtured and allow it to be your medicine as you rest and recover. You are surrounded with love and peace. I’m so sorry you’ve had two teeth extracted. Bless you. Thank you for you, Colette and enjoy your Netflix! Loads of love and peace to you, Patsy and everyone! 🙏🏼🪶🩵🕊️🍃🧚🏽♀️🍁🏠💜
Two years after cancer surgery and radiation. I'm still trying to cope with the abnormal way I feel. I have tried to detox and offset all the effects of the radiation. But it is an uphill climb. I guess some people would bounce back faster than I did, but it really did feel it in a way that I can't describe. I'm thankful that I'm better but I sure wish I could feel as good as I once did. So you've touched on something very relevant here. Anything that is done to our bodies is traumatic to it. And it does take time to recoup.
Some of that pain in your neck and ear could be from holding your mouth open for so long. The muscles are complaining and getting stiff. It should go away soon, especially with warm wet wash cloth compresses. If the pain does not get better but gets worse you may be getting and ear infection. Don't wait too long to go back to the doctor. Hope you get better soon.
Colette - you're an inspiration (you always are!!) - thank you for showing us fantastic self care - which I've been reluctant to do in the past at a great cost! I hope you feel better really soon. I'm sure you will be as Bealtaine Cottage is a fabulous place of healing. Many blessings to you 💖💖💖
I had a wisdom tooth out in May in the hospital under general anesthic as the root was attached to the bone. I looked and felt like I had gone 6 rounds in the boxing ring for days afterwards. The most embaressing element was the effect the pain killers had, I only took them once as on me the effect was what I imagine magic mushrooms might have. I thought my dog had stopped breathing and called a neighbour to help me get her into my car to rush to the vet. When the neighbour called my dog woke up and greeted him at the door with a waggy tail. I avoided him for weeks.
I had the same two extractions and we are close in age. I too had to give myself time to heal and rest. Ill light a candle for you in the morning with healing wishes.
As usual your instincts are spot on. Take it easier and look after yourself. Im glad you haven't had much illness in your life. I am unwell at the moment and your videos have been a staple in my self care. I always feel uplifted after your videos. Thank you and feel well soon.
Colette, bless you. You have been through trauma. Dental work can feel quite barbaric at times. At least, this is how I feel. Be kind to yourself. Continuing to go about your day as much as possible. It is a good thing to get out into your garden. It will bring the healing strength that you need. Take care. ❤
Loving the inside of the cottage and the view out as we enjoy you ramble. Everything will be so well set up ready for the winter. Blessings for a restful healing.
I tend to have very heavy reactions to dental work. Even simple cleanings tend to overwhelm my body. It takes me multiple days or even weeks to recover. Much love, tender-kindness, and healing to your body.
Dental work is the pits. Thankfully you had finished your cheerful kitchen redo before your ordeal. I hope each day you feel better and better, my friend. Fresh air certainly is a tonic. 🌸🌿
blessed be Colette and Patsy much love and respect ..healing takes time to heal up ..give it more time to settle down..overgrow overshare overcare overseed everywhere worldwide ..cheers all be safe and hydrated ..
“The unforgotten”, what an interesting series. It got me through a very difficult part of last winter when I was socked in, by 5ft deep snow in my driveway (just about the same length as yours). I think the empath is what grabbed me also. The portrayal of strong independent thinking women is inspiring. Stay well; be well. Enjoy the downtime to gather strength.
I hope you feel better soon, I know you are doing all of the good remedies to keep comfortable. I like your hair like that! It is super cute. Chamomile and turmeric are anti-inflammatory, honey is an antibiotic, fermented things are probiotic to balance immunity. DOSE yourself: Dopamine - reward, complete a task, eat a snack. Oxytocin - love, pay a complement, speak kindly to yourself. Serotonin - mood, breathe, move. Endorphin - pain killer, dark chocolate, smile/laugh. Prescription: Slow dance while nibbling chocolate and giggling.
Love your hair. You are not going to want to hear this but you overextended yourself finishing the kitchen, then dental work. I too loved Unforgotten. Your new stove looks marvellous!
Oh Colette I totally agree with you I had a big tooth out a couple of months ago, the 1st time in about 20 years and I was shocked how it knocked the stuffing out of me as not before. I think as we get a bit older too we don't bounce back so quickly ( as much as we hate to admit it eh 😉) So go easy on yourself, but you know the drill of training your mind to cope. You're an independent woman too, we have to. But rest and treat yourself lovingly. Btw I was fine after a couple of weeks so take comfort xx
Hi Colette, I hope that you will feel better soon! Don't overdo things it's always best to give your body some rest so it can heal properly. Have a lovely weekend too, it is my 63rd birthday on Saturday! Many blessings to you and little Patsy ❤❤
Take care and take it easy Colette ! Speedy recovery . I know how you are feeling, I've gone through the same experience this year, it was awful. It drains all the strength from you and leaves you vulnerable and defeated or a while. But it will get better with each day passed. It will. Especially if you let go of things and will take care of yourself in the first place. You need it. For yourself and Patsy and for us ! Then all will be good in the world again. Much love xxx
Your such a sensitive soul, and your so right when your hyper sensitive and interference with our bodies dose traumatised it, and makes us feel vulnerable, it's so wonderful that you have touch on this so thank you our earth warrior healing being sent your way for you complete healing 💚🙌🙏
Colette, I had a tooth extracted and got an infection in the bone of my jaw. It didn't hurt at all, but one day a few weeks later I noticed that one side of my face was swollen. The Dentist fixed me up with antibiotics and I was good in no time. I feel like an alarmist here, which is not my intention. But if you're still not feeling better after a few days, you might want to call the Dentist back.
Yes! Antibiotics and maybe some mild pain relief like a prescription for extra strength acetaminophen.(sorry, I know that’s an American name and I don’t know what it’s called in Ireland🤔) Not only will it help relieve any pain you might be having but it will help the swelling and puffiness. Be well.
You’ve been so busy renovating the kitchen, quickly followed by dental surgery, it’s no wonder you’ve been having a “down period”. Glad to hear you’re now out in your natural element, it will be so healing for you. So generous of you to share it with us🌲🌳💚 Take it easy for a wee bit…all is well 💫✨💫
Dearest Colette….you are such an inspiration for us…thanks for sharing your experiences. It’s nice to be able to relate and hear - thus not feel so alone in, the sometimes not nice, experiences on this plane of existence … many blessings to you❤️
Feel free to share your thoughts, Colette; it's clear you're going through a fragile time. I hope you find yourself feeling better soon. Love and healing thoughts are on their way to you.
Insightful words, as always. My last extraction resulted in a nasty cold, as if my immunity cells were sidetracked by the tooth removal trauma! Peace and Blessings to you Colette 🌻
Wishing you love and a full recovery Collette, I agree with all you say. Our body keeps the score and lets us know when there's an invasion of sorts happening to our body. Yes Fragile is a great word to describe the aftermath. Be kind and gentle to yourself, big hugs xxxx
Hi Colette, so sorry to hear you've been feeling rough since the two tooth extractions, but not surprising. I've unfortunately got massive roots on the end of my teeth so the dentist has a real job. Had a wisdom tooth out last year and it was hell. The dentist had to break the tooth out bit by bit. It sounded awful, then when he finally removed the bloody thing I was bleeding so much they made me sit in the waiting room holding a compress in my mouth till the blood plugged up. I was doing my best not to start crying in the waiting room. I kept saying to myself don't be silly but god it leaves you in a vulnerable state. Look after yourself Colette and I hope you feel better soon. I love your hair by the way. All the best xxx
When you said ‘body work’ I immediately thought of car work so I’m glad you thought that was funny. I had 2 teeth out and it’s a real assault, I felt so tearful. Lots of soup, favourites cardigans, blankets and the stove lit. Sending kind thoughts from cornwall xxx
I bet having extractions on both sides is quite painful. It will take a little time to heal, but be careful, just let the water fall out of your mouth when you brush your teeth. You don’t want to get a dry socket. I’ve had one in my lifetime and that was a very painful experience. No straws or spitting. Blessings to you dear Collette. You have done a lot of work inside and outside your sweet cottage, so enjoy watching Netflix, you deserve a break. Especially now.
Dear Colette, I send you all my friendly thoughts for a full recovery. I know how exhausting this kind of pain is, for body and mind, so take good care of yourself.
