Growing up in Maroubra, South Sydney, Dean's younger self was inspired by the wrong motives. It ultimately lead him to getting arrested for armed robbery, and being incarcerated.
He found that doing time made it hard to reintegrate back into society, but perseverance and hope have got him to where he is today. A successful businessman with a beautiful family.
He now wants his story to be heard, in hope that young kids today, will think twice before they make wrong decisions.

Both of my cousins were Bra Boys. I was an orphan from the states, they looked out for me and did everything they could for me bought be clothes, took me surfing, and all that. After I was 8 I moved back and haven’t been in Maroubra since but it’s a shame what they get portrayed in the media❗️

Can I thank you both for being open minded…. I’m not a criminal but I had a bad path and youth and if it wasn’t for blokes like your dads, I would not have been given a go. Your dad had a lifetime impression and memory for all the guys that he gave a go, trust me, he means the world to all of them for seeing them as people with feelings and not just ‘the too hard basket’ which in turn had a positive affect and they had more reason to do well! 😊

Hard story. Hard man. Great message for young fellas who think having a tough reputation or being a crimie is their goal in life. This bloke is tellin' ya, it's not worth the trouble. Listen to what he's saying. Most young blokes (and chicks too) get it into their heads to take risks with drugs, crime, etc for the simple reason that they just can't see any future for themselves. This is what WE ALL need to address and change. Kids need to be able to see an attractive and good future for themselves which is more appealing than being a crim.

Respect from FL USA.Grew up on the beach but hung in the streets ,drugs, robberies and violence because i was young and didnt give a f***. I got out of prison in '08 for a battery on a LEO did 2 years thinking wtf am i gonna do. I got lucky with a job and been at it for 10 yrs... tbh i have no clue what i would do if i had to go back to prison .or what i would do if i got out. I did so many bad things. I have a daughter ,her mom, my family....i just got lucky
