Dean and the gang didn’t go anywhere. They’re in Las Vegas right now doing these type of shows in black and white for me to enjoy. This is better than any high tech entertainment today. Keep going Dean, I’ll be waiting for your next gig. Peace!
people today can not really appreciate how great it was to see shows like this back then. With no internet, face book or that crap, these entertainers were unique and quite a break from the people's regular boring lives or routines
He seemed like a wonderful person, good looks, great voice , he seemed like a good family man. I bet this group of men had the most fun making lots of money. They sure give you that impression.and they're all gone off this Earth but we're still privileged to be able to see them how lucky we are in this life. And RU-vid makes it so easy to pere into another time.
55 YEARS AGO !!! Unbelievable ! how can you NOT miss this kind of talent and personality ? Dean was every bit as unique as Sinatra and Sammy. - and they were both one of a kind.
Thank for tuning in- if you go to our channel page, you'll find lots of Dino... and Jerry... and Frank and Sammy... AND our interview with Charlton Heston, who was a dear friend.
My son shares a birthday with Dino, and he loves it! He owns Dean Martin albums on vinyl and tells his friends, I like GOOD music, doesn't matter when its from. Moments like this make me so proud! :)
Mark Allen Lots more clips from the Sands Summit shows (60 and 62) on our channel- sorry that we can't upload any of the songs due to copyright rules...
Thanks for watching, and your positive comment! We've uploaded all the footage ever shot of the 1960 and 1962 Sands Summits- in 5 to 10 minute clips- except for the complete song performances (copyright restrictions). it was a personal gift from Dean's best friend and roommate, Sonny King- Sonny introduced Dean to Jerry in 1945... at the Bryant Hotel in NYC... Warmest Regards, Luke Sacher Praeses & Soapbox Productions Inc.
Nobody now days don’t even know who Dean Martin even is let alone the Rat Pack! My parents played old records and well ever since then I enjoyed watching old tv shows and listening to all the players of that century!
Thanks for tuning in- we are personal friends with Jeannie and Deana Martin and we produced the 1999 A&E Biography of The Rat Pack, as well as the 1996 bio of Jerry Lewis, and Janet Leigh. PS- Is your real name Arthur Lee? Because Arthur Lee died in 2006... Luke Sacher Soapbox Productions Inc.
OU812Eddie The best! Dino rules... Lots more clips from the Sands Summit shows (60 and 62) on our channel- sorry that we can't upload any of the songs due to copyright rules...
Hey Mark- sure thing- I have all the footage from the '60 and '62 Summits on D-Beta from the camera reversal original... Auricon with internal single system optical sound recording from a 1/4 inch unbalanced mono cable mix out from the Sands' 4 or 6 input PA system... :)
***** Amazing, just amazing. I would love 3 TV channels that all retrace TV year by year, hour by hour. Go back to the 50s or 60s etc. Sadly, without a time machine that will not happen. Remember when each network had a movie ever night? That's 3 X 7 = 21 movies a week with only 3 channels and then there were others like The Ed McMurry Theater every day about noon. What great TV but today kids can not listen to the radio let alone watch TV news or read a newspaper because it is all XXX rated crime to the max etc. Words they can not say at home on public airwaves makes good parenting impossible if you do not totally monitor everything today. Ahh parenting then and now is like being on a different planet today.
Mark Gray And... no Attention Span! I think that teens today just don't know how to read a novel or watch a narrative feature length picture... it's pretty distressing. We grew up watching great classics every afternoon and on the weekends... especially on the affiliates like Metromedia and WPIX/Tribune... and even WCBS in NYC on Sunday afternoon...
***** LOL Speaking of weekends, you forgot to give me a call and I got so busy that I forgot you would be calling LOL. I guess we both got a bit busy or perhaps fell into a heap of exhaustion. In either case. Lets touch base when you have some free time and want a break from editing.
Mark Gray Hi Mark- I know, I'm sorry about that- the days are getting shorter fast here in NH and there's still a ton of stuff to get done before the leaves start falling... I've got your number and direct email, will call you Thursday as soon as the Vegas footage selects are all pulled...
Tony Neilands We have most of the only footage ever shot at the 1960 and 62 Summits uploaded to our channel, except for the "straight" songs (due to copyright)...
Yes- he did a great impression of Cary. My granddad Abner Biberman was a good buddy- he played Cary's Henchman in "His Girl Friday" and the evil Kali worshipper in "Gunga Din" (Sam Jaffe and Abner were lifetime friends) Sonny King was a dear friend- he lent us the original 16mm footage to transfer to Digital Betacam tape. We produced the 1999 A&E Biography of The Rat Pack. You can buy a complete 3 DVD set (almost 3 hours total) from us for 80.00 USD Luke Sacher Praeses & Soapbox Productions Inc.
Anne Roy Everybody could do an impression of Jolson, he had an extremely distinctive style. But I totally get the comparison with Cary Grant. I’ve always thought that in many photographs he and Dean looked so much alike that they could almost be brothers.
Ok this is so ironic... I took a Facebook quiz on which 20th century actor you are most attracted to. My sister guessed dean Martin. I got cary grant. I remember the description of why I got that result, seemed like it was describing dean. He's got that inside joke humor and smoothness to him. And super masculine and classy. A lot like cary grant for sure :)
Thanks for tuning in! I love it when dino makes a circle wth his fingers and says, "Jump through this!" Lots more of the Summit shows here on your channel- you'll love every minute! :)
Agreed! DINO, baby! Have you read Nick Tosches' book about him? We produced the 1996 Biography of Jerry Lewis and the 1999 Biography of the Rat Pack for A&E. Janet Leigh was a good friend- my grandad Abner Biberman was Tony Curtis' drama coach at Universal when he was just starting out... search RU-vid for: Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis at the Copacabana New York City 3 February 1954 Part 1 of 4 The only film record of their REAL night club show! Warmest Regards, Luke Sacher
Thank you for this!! Never have seen Lawford and Bishop "live" with the Summit. I tried to message you at your channel page, but could not see a way to do it. I have something that I know you'd be interested in having -- love to share it with you. You can reach me by email -- Google search Paul Driscoll magician. YT doesn't allow links or email addresses in posts. Again, thanks for all the great clips of the guys.
