That was impressive. A great take of Sophie Tucker's song. I wonder where that young lady (Lisa Miller) is now. Gee, she might be about 70 years old now.
Steven Torrey Lisa wrote a great book about her 30 year friendship with George, “Close But No Cigar.” Apparently they became great friends, dated and remained great friends until shortly before his death. They even almost got married in the 60s. According to her, a writer approached her in the mid 90s Bc he was writing a book about George and twisted everything she said into something bad. For this reason, George’s family didn’t let her see him in his final months of life. But their story is a fascinating one and describes what I’ve always thought, that GB was a sweet, sweet man and had a great philosophy towards life and its problems. He was also a human being and had his virtues and defects like everyone else. I found the book very enthralling and a great love letter to one of the best comedians of the 20th century. RIP, Nattie.
