this is fantastic! no receiver in the league has deserved such loving care as hop. 8 qbs in his career, still posts huge numbers. still hasn't hit his ceiling
54, lived in H-Town my whole life. Best hands I have ever seen. Nuke' makes a catch of the Age's every game. Going into his fourth year, already has 24 minutes of higlight's. Mega!!
i thought he was really good option for #2 not #1, but seeing him becoming gret #1 last yr was one of many things i enjoyed last yr with texans for sure. :D
Widest catch radius and I would say best hands of any receiver in the league. Defenders do all they can and even when the defender does a very very great job of defending a pass, nuke still comes down with it, and doing that with QBs like Weeden, Mallett, Fitzpatrick, Yates, and the other 46 Quarterbacks the Texans have had since he’s entered the league, that’s just incredible. He’s not that fast of a like sprinter, but he has quick feet and is an excellent release and route running receiver. It’s time, and has been time for this man to be recognized as THE best receiver in the league.
Best sideline footwork in football; an absolute warrior on 50/ 50 balls and can make the 20/80 happen as well. Hop deserves all the best after a hard upbringing; hard working, undervalued (with 6 Pro Bowl selections, yet) and a great team player.
So I just have an observation. Vikings fan here btw not bias in the slightest. This kid had Matt Schaub and Case Keemun for his first couple years in the league...that’s insane...how good would Odell be without HOF QB throwing to him, how good would brown be without Big Ben, how good would Julio be without Ryan...ridiculous. Hopkins and Watson are gonna be scary good this next season.
Hopkins ability to turn and find the ball in the air - whether he is highpointing the ball or on the ground- is second to none. Throw in elite catching and ball skills and he is clearly a top 2 or 3 wide receiver. He might be the best at highpointing. He does not seem like a diva type wide receiver at all. I just watched this video again and its just as good or better than the first time.
Casuist Gaming Same skill set in terms of hands, catching radius, and body control? I'd say so. Do they have similar bodies and game styles? No. Definitely not. Just to clear things up.....
if you see the highlights, he's shadowed by all the safetys. He has been the only legitmate option on the team. There is no room for him to run after the catch. it should change this year with legitmate weapons surrounding him.
The only mad bad thing I saw was Every 2 mins it’s a different QB throwing to him I know that was annoying but that might make him better he can literally catch anything
Thats strange last they played I remember it being New years, and it was a defensive battle. I don't have the stats on hand, but from memory I'm pretty sure Odell didn't score a TD and probably didn't get over 50 yards. As for the game I'm guessing you are referring too was week 3 of the 2016 season. IN which for the most part Odell did win until it came down to the moment it mattered. Where he couldn't get separation from Norman in the end zone forcing manning to rush a throw to his secondary target resulting in a INT. Ultimately loosing the game. There are other reasons Hopkins are better but it will take me a while to list all of them so please refer to the next response.
yes this video is awesome. Deandre Hopkins is as high as the 2nd best wide receiver behind Antonio Brown. I base that statement on last years statistics and just watching videos. Yes I know Julie Jones has some better stats but I'm also pretty positive that Julie Jones played with less than 4 total qbs last season. Good luck to Deandre Hopkins in 2017 and Houston should restructure/extend this guy's contract.
I think they are both great in their own right. But I'm not ready to deny Beckham. He's tore it up in his first two years. Missed four games his rookie year and he still, correct me if I'm wrong, has more receiving yards than any one in NFL history... That includes greats like Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, and Calvin Johnson....
+Remigio Kennedy the reason why is because he's in a catch and run offense that lacks a run game with him being the only reliable target. Another receiver is Kelvin Benjamin who has a far better QB situation had like 70 rec for 1,008 Yards. Imagine what his stats would be like if he had as many receptions. But like I told you, before you argue, compare QBs, which you failed to do.
Haha. I love talking football. I like talking with some knowledgable fans. Haha. Ok. I'll Bite. Ok, first things first. Odell is the only reliable target? I think we can all agree that Nuk was the only reliable target in Houston. I don't buy the first part of your argument. Odell was targeted 288 times the last two years. Nuk was targeted 319.... Nuk caught 187 balls and Odell caught 187. Exact same reception totals on fewer targets. I'm not quite sure what you meant about Kelvin Benjamin's stats if he had the same amount of receptions? If he had the 111 that Nuk had then his yardage would be around 1,598. Almost identical to Nuk's 1,521. So.... not sure what thats about. Talent level of QB's? Yeah. I won't deny there is a talent level gap. Eli is better than all of the QB's the Texans trotted out. But at the end of the day.... They still, as a whole, only threw for 500 yards less than Eli. Nothing drastic. In terms of targets and receptions, Nuk is about 32% of the Houston offense. Odell is sitting around 24%. The Giants only rushed for about 100 more yards than the Texans.... So i would think that makes them both lacking in the run game, by your perspective... They seem like pretty identical situations.. Only difference is that Odell did more on fewer targets, and receptions. Haha. Just some food for thought. Don't get defensive. I'm not trying to argue or something. Just a fan talking football with another fan.
+Remigio Kennedy omg, even when this guy compares QBs he still gives no respect. Manning>Mallett, Hoyer, Yates. And like I said OBJ is a catch and run receiver, that's his offense. OBJ is also moved around in the formation to get him room. I think you're more of a hype guy because I also mentioned KB and I heard nothing from you about him.
+shortstackJMD96 sorry but your comments literally Scream ignorance. Remigio showed that you Are wrong and Even backed it with a Number of Stats yet you still fail to acknowledge that your opinion might not be Correct this Time ... sad to See really
