Amazingly well said when speaking about Godwin’s injury, his mindset, his value, and all that encompassed that massively unfortunate play/injury. Can tell how much you meant and felt what you said, was a segment that took me out of my monotony and made me listen with all of my focus. Love the pod, love the work you all put in to the shows each week. Especially love the input you give that only someone who has worked and accomplished as much as you have could offer. It’s not just generic, ex-player speak either. Shits high quality and very appreciated.
Godwin was on pace to have the best season of his career and one of the best of any receiver this season. It hurts seeing a guy who has been so underrated and under appreciated finally start to get his recognition and boom. Season’s over in one meaningless play. Chris is a dawg and hopefully he can come back to the Bucs and pick up where he left off
Is he really under appreciated though? My friend has been a diehard Bucs fan since they won the 2002 SB and every time we discuss the NFL and our teams, he praises Godwin. I kinda feel like it's the same for any football fan with a passion or simply more than a surface understanding of football. But I'm not from the US so whenever I discuss the NFL it's only with friends who really enjoy the sport (who would have a deep passion, since the games are played late at night here in my timezone).
@@IncorrigibleBigotry well you hit it right on the head. Any Bucs fan knows how valuable he is to the team and how great a player he is. But he’s never talked about by the national media when discussing the top receivers. It’s probably because he plays for the Buccaneers, Mike Evans who is a Hall of Famer is only recently getting his recognition. I’ve been saying that now that Mike is starting to get his recognition, Godwin is the new most underrated receiver in the league. I am a Bucs fan so I obviously watch him play more than most but I would say he probably has some of the best hands in the league, and is not talked about enough for what he does blocking in the run game either.
I can’t help but think about Sneed when I heard about the Hopkins trade. I know he wanted that money and the Chiefs could not meet him at that number. But he can not be happy with where he is at with the actual playing football part of his career right now. And havimg Hopkins out as well now, gotta hurt.
Sneed earned the opportunity to secure generational wealth for his family, and he got that. Unfortunatly getting the bag often means going to teams with poor culture that don't win much, especially after a regiem change. Sneed is a character guy you can build around, so his value to the Titans is as a leader and as a 2 time SB Champion, helping build character. While I'm sure he still misses the KC culture, he did what he needed to do for his family, gotta respect that.
Been waiting for this to drop. More than anyone, wanted to know what you thought of the D Hop trade. Kinda thought Diontae Johnson might be the best move to for a good man-beater, but Veach has liked Hopkins for a long time, and they got him for a real nice price - no mortgaging the future, even though they gotta be the most win-now team in the league.
Ya, I thought they would get Kupp, Johnson, or Slayton. The thing with Veach is that he guards his picks with his life, so he is always going for value trades instead of big splashy trades. This is totally inline with his philosohy
@@ElectronFieldPulse agreed! I think Amari was cheaper, which woulda totally been down with him, too. But I think Veach has wanted Hopkins since his draft.
@@pouraxial - I have no clue why we didn’t go for Cooper either except like you said, Veach has had his eyes on DHop for a while. Plus, Cooper had a drop problem while DHop rarely drops anything. With how many drops we have had, Veach probably has PTSD and wants to get someone he is sure will catch it every time
I do like this move though, because it enables them to make another one-whether that's a second receiver, a corner, or a tackle (which are probably their three biggest positions of need).
Love listening to you Chris! You tell it like it is and give your unvarnished take. I think you are completely on the mark with DHop. If he stays healthy, it is an absolute no brainer. He can still be a difference maker by playoff time.
I think BUF trading with KC was a good trade for both teams. Worthy/Coleman are better fits for their offense. Chiefs needed a deep threat to open up Kelce/Rice routes underneath and BUF needed a guy who could win 1v1 since Diggs is gone. Adding Cooper makes BUF a lot more interesting, but KC still trumps everyone in the league with their Defense so yea...adding another HOF'er will definitely make the Chiefs more deadly on O. Plus the league as a whole seems really down this year. Nobody is really that scary.
Chris this move is 100% because of how much Titans hate to see Henry thrive without them and how much they hate Ravens. They actually decided they would rather lose Henry for nothing than get a 3rd round pick for him last year to help Ravens win SB. And now they eat all of the salary of DHop and practically give him away to Chiefs to try to stop the Ravens with Henry again. And as a Ravens fan I actually respect the hate
Imagine Mahomes or Kelce getting this news. I bet they are jumping in joy. But in press conference they'll be classy and professional, as they are. Losers focusing on the Champs, while Champs are focusing on winning.
Love smart football talk. Mahomes has zero trust at LT, RT, his RB1, WR1,2. DHop can step in and establish instant trust and veteran presence. Veach did it again.
I keep expecting you guys to return to mediocrity where you have lived for years, but you keep defying my expectations. It will be interesting to see how your season goes
Chiefs talked with the Rams but they wanted at least a Second Round pick, so Chiefs moved on. Hopkins will catch everything, especially right over the middle. Go Chiefs 3-peat possible.
I agree about the Jamo suspension. If you ever see that dude talk… he’s a kid. Like middle school ADD kid vibes. It’s fun but someone needs to be the adult for him. Plus it’s only 2 days. Isn’t 4 the standard for PEDs? At 2 it makes me think it was something dumb.
He's actually good when he tries, but his volume has been low in Carolina, so he pretty much gives up on plays because he isn't getting the ball. Mayfield is very good at giving a high number of targets to guys, so it would be a good match.
Is Chris wearing make up in this video? I don’t know why but it looks like he is. Skinny guys react to anabolic steroids the same as anyone else, it will build muscle Also, Chris may have a gambling problem lol
That cap situation is in pretty dire straights, Undoubtly the Chiefs got better, but if they can't work some voodoo sooner rather than later they are going to lose their 2025 first round pick.
@@nowwithdave well, I do know football son and right now they are over the cap. So, check your fan girling bs at the door and lets talk football. You got that son?
@@nowwithdave Priceless, you reported my post, grow up dude! If you cant take a dose of reality, especially about money, maybe you shouldn't be on the internet. Good job kid!
