Deans for Impact is Building a Movement 

Each year, nearly 200,000 new teachers graduate from preparation programs in the United States. Most report feeling unprepared to teach in classrooms of their own. But this is starting to change. Across the country, leaders in educator preparation are stepping up to say we have to do better -- for kids, for aspiring teachers, and for the nation.
Since the future member deans of Deans for Impact first gathered in December 2014, our efforts have grown to include hundreds of teacher-educators, administrative leaders, school partners, and policymakers.
Our mission is to improve student-learning outcomes by changing the way this country prepares teachers. Our members are united behind a shared vision for a transformed educator-preparation system that graduates teachers prepared to measurably improve student learning.
