Honestly I think that the 16th notes intro part is actually the easiest part (it’s still difficult af though!) The rest of the song is much more difficult because it’s actually still pretty much entirely 16th note motifs, they just have small occasional breaks. But because they move around WAY more melodically, it’s far more difficult because you have to move around the fret board a lot.

@@salandit7461 Au contraire, the fact that the fingers move around more makes it easier and not as repetitive and tiresome. Furthermore you don't have to pick for every note in the melody unlike the intro, so your picking fingers get some rest times.

As I'm not Davie, I can't comment on his practicing. To me the beginning is the easiest. Maybe it's because I was a drummer?

@@DoctorWho8 don't know,I know a guy who's a very good drummer and a bass player and for him the parts in 16th were the most difficult to nail too, so it was for me, it's not only the timing but the sound Joe produces, which is very solid. I could play it up tempo after a few Tries playing softly with my right hand but to get the right sound up tempo it took me hours of practice. That's the Rocco Prestia finger style, not easy to make it groovy, so it is for most of Tower of Power's songs.

I'm assuming that you haven't watched Davie504 before? Because that's not what he can just do

@@DoctorWho8 is it REALLY though? In my experience it's the kind of part that feels great and is easy if you're playing along unplugged or just jamming, but if you record it and listen back, really difficult to master. It's grueling on the forearms not to just play or perform with some buddies, but to try to record at a 'studio' standard- perfectly in the pocket and in consistent dynamics and still with some spunk.

As in it’s not the same as Joe Dart/ Vulfpeck playing? No it’s not. And it’s only part of the song. I think if Davie did the whole song, then it would be a better representation than the portion he played.

@@cesarbravo3475 Yet all Vulfpeck songs are free to be used without a harsh copystrike. I think a small amount of Vulfpeck ones, like Christmas in LA, will do a soft one where the song is allowed to be used, but the ad money goes to the artist. This is what I encountered when I uploaded a concert video I edited and put on my other channel over a week ago. No loss to me as nothing is monetized on my channels.

off course he could... It's not that hard and he has been playing bass for a long time. You could just listen to this guy play anything for about a minute and you understand he could pull it off easy

Been watching Davie and I noticed he has good ears as a musician. Im sure he can play it with ease. 🤔

Well, I'm not Davie, so those critiques are kind of lost. And he has changed his hair style a couple of times during the pandemic.
