One of my colleagues had planned a well deserved 6 week family trip back to India. Halls had been booked to celebrate their daughter’s first birthday in India with family and friends. One month ago my coworker proudly celebrated their Canadian Citizenship. As things stand now this family is not permitted to visit their homeland at all. I feel so sad for them. They have worked so hard to become productive members of Canadian society.This trip hopefully will take place by December for their sake 😢

I'm a Punjabi living in India and have followed this channel since long. I am wholeheartedly against any Khalistani thought whatsoever. A country based on religious separation is the last thing Punjabis would want and you're absolutely right in saying that it has little to no ground base in India as the Sikhs and Punjabis living in India know the ground reality. However, one thing I disagree with is that Punjab has prospered under the current regime. The actual truth is that the state of Punjab has been constantly screwed over by multiple governments (both centre and state) and the current rule under Modi has been no different. The people are frustrated, there are no jobs, and young people try desperately to move to other countries to earn a better living (where yes, the governments do brainwash and ignite such separatist propaganda to hurt India).
