One of the most interesting bands in the world of heavy music. In my opinion, the group is very underrated - although all the albums are really very strong (especially in terms of performance). I always enjoy going back to listen to this band. 🤘🖤🤘
Andy was 12 when the band formed, the whole band were still in high school, that's why they waited until 1987 to release The Ultra-Violence even though it was recorded in 1984, Rob was the first to become an adult capable of legally signing contracts so the band didn't have to set up trust funds through their parents and sign ownership of their material over to them or a law firm until they turned 18. Their age kept them out of a lot of venues in the early 80s otherwise they would have been as big or bigger than the Big 4, their ages alone would have made people want to see them. The band hung around the neighbourhood of Battery in San Francisco, Cliff Burton was close friends with Rob Cavestany and Mark Osegueda, their musical sensei if you will. Cliff attended Chabot College where he studied music theory and composition, everything from blues and jazz to classical and baroque, Cliff also played multiple instruments including guitar, cello, drums and piano. Cliff would go to school in the day and teach Rob, Mark and the guys everything he was learning at night while they jammed, they soaked it up like sponges. Death Angel are what Metallica should of and could have been if Cliff never died, instead Metallica took the easy route and sold out to pop culture.
Speaking of Metallica and bass players, Rob's 19 year old son Tye also plays bass, he started touring with Korn when he was 12, he's now the new bassist for Suicidal Tendencies.
In 1987 I was 16yr old heavy metal kid, listening NEW 😮music of Hellowween Keeper1, Running Wild Jolly Jocker, Anthrax Among the Living..uh..those were the days
@@ll7868 I had NO idea they were that damn young. Color me IMPRESSED!!! I had just gotten into metal (and playing guitar in 89). I really dug these guys back then, but kinda forgot about them. This randomly showed up for me on the tubes...I'm loving it...again!!!
16 years ago I was there both nights of the album release shows. They opened with "Lord of Hate" and it instantly became one of my favorite Death Angel songs. That scream at the start, holy s***. This album is really singular in their discography, it's unlike any of the other albums before or since, and is still a top choice. Death Angel forever!
Just another fabulous album from this great band! They never disappoint me! Fucking songs! See them in Summer Breeze festival 2024 here in São Paulo, people!! Thrash `till death and bang your head!!
Wow !! Listenin' just past midnight here in Perth Western Australia & really stoned on Medical prescribed Hydro & this Album is Very Impressive aa i found Acts 111 many many moons ago 🤔 BUT this 1 is All Killer no filler 👍🙃🍺🦘 when was this Released ??
So-nic beat-down! It's my favorite. Great sound from start to finish. I'm missing two of those old Filipino guys that were in the band at the time. I went to three gigs in Poland: Wrocław, Katowice & Kraków.To be fair I can't stand the sound that Death Angel went after Killing Season.

Armchair Musicians Criticize work they can never do. & I doubt Kerry King would tell Mark Asageudo to sing like Araya plus Mark doesnt sound like Araya. Ur hearing shit in Ur broken head
It's a damn shame that Kerry king tried to make dude sound like Tom from Slayer on the Kerry King project.... because this dude is a way better vocalist and can sound way heavier than what Kerry allowed him to sound ,no wonder Kerry King's band flopped
What are you even talking about from hell I rise didn't flopped to use your word's. I don't think it was a case of Kerry telling mark dude if your going to be on vocals you've got to sound like tom on every track I am sure mark would have simply told him he wasn't going to be a part of that. I believe that Kerry offered the vocals duty to a few different singers but mark wanted to get involved mark literally said online that he was proud of what he did on that record. Clearly your not a fan of tom or Kerry but come on to say that the Kerry king project failed is simply idiotic and a insult to slayer fans king's from hell I rise isn't slayer new album but it's the next best thing and I personally dig it 🤘
@@HeirofDacia said person who called king's project a flopped is clearly just a numpty. From hell I Rise is a good album in my opinion and the next best thing to a new slayer album
