I think it's pretty cool how stuff that the majority of players would think are just bad, such as intentionally KOing yourself, can actually sometimes be really good. Double Pain is another obvious example of that. These were some cool strats. I also think this might be the first time I've seen someone make good use of Sweet Feast in a strat, so that was interesting.
You know, while in a minimum HP/FP run you could argue the healing/FP item could be better against Gloomtail, using the Pointswap Lifeshroom actually ensures peril strats in runs where Mario has more than 10 max HP, which I think is pretty cool.
A neat thing you could have shown off with the Gloomtail fight is having hp upgrades on Mario, since the Pointswap/Lifeshroom combo would still guarantee a peril strat.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that these were some of the coolest strats I have ever seen, especially the Cortez one with how perfect and genius it was! Absolutely brilliant, this is why point swap is one of my favourite items! There are just so many cool and interesting (as well as broken) strats you can create with them!
Warning: spliced footage detected. Before the battle with Rawk Hawk Yoshi is black, at beginning of battle Yoshi is white. Fight however was not cheated. This also isn't a speedrun, nor does it claim to be a speedrun. Also, Koop's videos are very entertaining.
This game is a bit like the mainline pokemon games. The combat system is very deep, but the game is so easy you don't need to ever strategise. I think TTYD PvP would have great potential. Unless there are some broken strats I am unaware of.
This sounds like something that would be interesting to put out as one of those puzzles, where one of the conditions is you must kill yourself with point swap once.
Point Swap: - Peril strats (and heal FP) - Suicide strats - Heal HP (but lose FP) (?) Trial Stew: - Peril strats (but lose FP) - Star Power strats They're both solid but I think Point Swap is the clear winner overall
Not at all, they speed up the process of getting into peril but you're not racing anything and items like Life Shrooms or Boo Sheets can be gotten. I'd rather use my HP as a buffer then remove it completely.
Knowing the RNG values and stats of all bosses in order to end yourself at the precise moment to immediately checkmate them afterwards. I wouldn't call this useful. I'd call this playing with your food. Great video.
Amazing, I was thinking of that because I think you could K.O. Marilyn in shadow sirens 2 if she did the 80 damage clap. I’m not sure if that’s how it works but perhaps
Oh. If that's what you were thinking of (non-low-level strats that require tons of BP to pull off), I have a video on that already. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tdVzElHzGsw.html
This is really cool but I wouldn't call it busted. Skipping straight to 1 HP rather then using your HP as a buffer means overall less total damage and needing to carry more for when you level. Especially when Boo Sheets or Koops are the best way to ensure survival on mistakes.
