I loved how they showed death in this series, they place it as a companion that helps us move from this world to the spirit world. And I reminded our Dream Friend that her role is very important for Humans. This chapter that the brothers are in is sensational.
For over seven years I have known that if I am ever having a hard time that these characters were there. Death sees the beauty in every stage of life and the importance it has. Dream wants to learn and better understand the world around him, to better help during sleep. In a since, Death is the life cycle and Dream is hope.
C'est juste dingue ils se comprennent même sans se parler, je sais qu'ils sont frères et soeurs mais j'adore leur relation fraternelle et surtout j'adore Morpheus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In the comics at least: She was there (to collect Roderick Burgess) but the Endless don't work that way. Just like how Morpheus summoned the Fates rather than ask Destiny where his tools were, they each have their own realms and own "business" and likely had she tried to free him all it would have done was offend him on a very deep level.
the endless are not supposed to interfere with each other unless asked. dream has always refused to ask for help when needed, so it was not death's place to get involved. also, roderick burgess originally wanted to capture her, not dream, so it would be too risky for her to go there. two endless being captured would have been catastrophic
I’ll add: the others (sans Delirium) probably wouldn’t care. Destiny would see the capture as necessary (like, it HAS to happen. It’s fated), Desire would think it’s funny, Despair wouldn’t see a reason to get involved, and Destruction is keeping his distance because he simply doesn’t want to be in the fold anymore. People already said it would be way too dangerous to ask Death for help, but Dream also wouldn’t put Delirium’s safety at risk since she’s the youngest (and probably couldn’t do much anyway)
Can someone tell me if I dream of depression? It impresses me and as a person who has faced it for almost all his life, I felt very identified with him.
He was held captive for a century by mortals the love of his life ( Nada) committed suicide and refused to remain with him as a ghost in the dreaming because of her guilt . So yeah Dream is a little depressed right now. He is a somber character in general in the books.
