Man… James is such a good dude and teacher. This is such great stuff Coach! What a treat?!?!?! I like that these drills are restrictive in a way which focuses on just the movement of the body…AND it teaches you about your own hands in these swings. Awesome…

Hi Dan I’m a pretty good high HC golfer BUT I can’t chip it’s tension, heat of the moment etc. I like your approach so can you recommend links to any vids of yours to the ABC of chipping. Still reckon we’d have a game on between us though you’d need to play left handed!

This is very interesting and it certainly makes you use the body more. Perhaps it is my uneducated short game knowledge but this type of drill taking the hands and hinge out of the chip seems to go against everything that Dan Greive coaches with his releases?!? I guess this is to build fundamental body movement before utilizing different releases but James seems to get excellent strike and control with this technique without needing wrist hinge. My chipping technique is very much in this mould, body movement in the style of a long putt without a lot of hinge so I can certainly relate. Great contact Coach :)

I love a good drill, but if it’s for a person struggling in an area….for you coach, you’re a feel guy around the greens and you’re good at it….for a player who can play off feel within 50 yards, I would never show them this….this is for someone who struggles in this range
