I just picked this up during a recent sale. Maybe it was for Golden Week, I think, not sure. But yeah, this game seems fun, I'm looking forward to my playthrough... after I finish Atelier Meruru 😂
I bought the physical copy at full price I kinda don’t regret it because it’s gonna be one of those rare games that I won’t get to play unless I shell out a billion dollars for the physical version
I think by the time we're old prices for physical games will take a huge hit and this is coming from a collector. The younger generation just downloads them so less and less will care to keep the hobby afloat since their nostalgia will be tied to a re-download of the game and not go and find a physical copy.
@@joeyisabsb1 On the flip-side, the price of physical might skyrocket as the market shifts toward digital and cloud gaming. It may be the case that ALL physical will be limited releases within 5-10 years.
Deciding to get the pc version instead, would of preferred playing in handheld mode but the performance is a deal breaker for me. If Im gonna need a tv to get good performance I way as well get it on pc and play at 4k while im at it.
Bought a physical copy on Switch. I was loving it but it won't load once I get to the final boss on chapter 3. It says now loading and the music plays but it just stays stuck on the loading screen and never actually gets to the next part. I saw that one other person had the same issue in the exact same place in the game when I was trying to search for solutions online. This was turning out to be my favorite game on the Switch but now I'm just super disappointed. Has anyone else had this problem? I've tried everything I could but nothing fixes the issue...
I found that the story overall was whatever - seems like a bog standard sci-fi story but the main selling schtick was that they added a lot more gore and "deaths". Instead, I found that the game ran _so poorly_ handheld (
At that price It Is easily worth It. If the environments were less barren and the story wouldn't crumble itself during the later part of the game, this would be a classic for sure.
There is one thing that bugs me about this game. The eShop said this version of the game had content that was originally from Japan. Any idea what that is?
4:48 didja mean the knockback mechanic? Tomato tamato, it's indeed a useful mechanic when dealing damage, especially when launching them into corruption. You get the up-sided status effects while avoiding the down-sided ones.
I have to say that DERQ 1 combat is terrible. At first it seems fun, but once you really get into this game further and learn all the skills, level up and figure out the mechanics you discover that pretty much Celica is the only character of any use. All of my characters are at a very high level but they are all worthless in most battles because so many enemies later in the game will simply counter every single attack including Glitch mode which is completely laughable. Talk about horrible and halfbaked game design. DEVs... making the enemy invincible to every attack is not good or smart design. It's sloppy and lazy. DERQ 2 isn't that much better, though I did appreciate the auto-pilot mode so I didn't have to waste much time playing that game with it's similarly bad battle mechanics.
