The idea of a surrendering mechanic is pretty cool. You don't really see a lot of military theme video games incorporate incorporate ideas like soldiers surrendering or retreating. Hopefully the devs can flesh the mechanic out. Anyways, good luck and stay safe when you return Ukraine.
One thing I appreciated about the surrender mechanic is if you kill surrendering soldiers, you lose points. Given that the game is based on a real ongoing conflict, I value the notion that though violence may be needed, cruelty is discouraged.
This sort of thing makes me wonder what the world would have been like if Goebbels, The BBC, OSS, SOE etc had access to modern computers and the internet during WW2. We have this game, we also have Glory to the Heroes. Raising war bonds and donation money for relief efforts with video game tie ins, as the war is happening. Propagandists of the past could only DREAM of the capability we have nowadays. This game also looks really fun and definitely gonna pick it up, hopefully Twitch won't bonk me if I stream it. As always, great work, Slava Ukraine.
The most important feature is missing: the wildly eclectic music choices. You can't have a Ukranian drone game or video without that trademark. The weather (wind and rain) would be a nice addition, as well as artillery strikes, like your video mentioned. Other elements would be: electronic warfare and anti-air challenges, drone vs drone clashes, night vision missions, ability to switch between reconnaisance drones and loitering munition drones for different kinds of missions, different environments other than the forests of east Ukraine, unlocking better drones (possibly through missions or people campaign modes), different speeds and camera resolutions for different drones, and naval drones (although those are technically not death from above). Maybe a drone video mode where you get points based on pictures and video taken (like Pokemon Snap).
esp. on the music front i think we are not bad set up with ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5gdPxnwKYjM.html - its also played in the game
@@hendriklesser1457Thank you for sharing that, it definitely made for good drone video music. Now we need to have that and Fur Elise right in the same soundtrack for the cognitive dissonance.
Bought it recently, not properly dived in but incredibly impressed from the outset. The intro had me shedding a manly tear, it's beautiful and tragic all at once. The intro song choice is an absolute belter of a tune. Nearly died laughing in the first five minutes when I saw the gag with the washing machines. Beautifully simple but complex at the same time. When I first saw it I thought "oh no another GoatSim style open world game", but no, this is the real deal. Aiming to do a video on my channel about it once I've had a proper playthrough. I've only got a modest following but if it shifts a few more copies that'd be sweet. It's stunning work.
thank you all for the positive comments :) the team and me really appreciate it :) if you have any questions or else, please feel free to tell me (i am the game director and face/founder of lesser evil)
