Crazy seeing all the hate for this album in the comments. This is by far my favourite of theirs. It’s their most diverse, most cohesive, most lyrically interesting if you take the time to peel everything back (seriously, what this album says about American counterculture and the occult and all that is crazy interesting), and it’s just one of the most dense albums I’ve ever had the experience of listening to. It’s one of those albums where every time I listen to it, I discover something new to really appreciate. It has their most unique songwriting as well. The way these songs evolve over time is so unique in their discography. They feel much more alive than other Death Grips songs. Plus it’s a meta commentary on the band itself. Probably a top 3 album of all time for me
yeah you snuck into the room with the dude holding up a grimy patio table that's seemingly harboring human mouthparts streaky is the unsung pop hit of the century
Since you're doing all of Death Grips, could you do all of The Avalanches? My favorite album of all time is Wildflower by The Avalanches, its really overlooked because of Since I Left You, would love it so much if you did that one as well as We Will Always Love You.
It’s not Animal Collective but I’m here for it. Also, my sources have informed me that there is an anco + death grips collab EP on the horizon. Believe me or dont but it’s happening mfers 🍻
the person I know close to the situation says it should be out by the end of the year but it may be delayed to early next year. It may or may not feature MC Ride but it 100% involves anco members and Zach Hill
This is my fave DG album. Has been since it dropped in 2018. It has so much depth I could talk about it for hours. NO LOVE and Gov Plates next! Then steroids. Cheers
Excited to see more Death Grips from you! I’d love to see a video on the new Black Dresses album, I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. Sad to see that they broke up again, but the songs are great.
Yo i have been loving your minecraft reactions! heres a good video you might like to make, how about you do a soundtrack reaction, but with the caves and cliffs and all of the recent soundtracks, that would be epic!
you should definitely listen to Government Plates by them!! nobody ever recommends or reacts to it cus its the most different of all the albums and therefore the least liked, but i love it so im recommending it :)
ah now that ive watched this i remember i didnt even like this album, i just fucking love disappointed for some reason. streaky and flies good too but eh
Danny brown atrocity exhibition is an amazing album, interesting to see your reaction. He also apparently went into debt to get the mixing and mastering on point.
there's an album with alot of songs i haven't seen anyone react to before, so i thought i'd recommend it in the off rare chance this gets seen Poison - Flesh & Blood
Very different album than this and probably out of left field. But I’d love to see your reaction to Belle and Sebastian’s ‘If You’re Feeling Sinister’. A quintessential indie 90s record for me. Their other stuff is great but that’s their best in my opinion.
I think that what u said abt walking into the wrong place makes sense. Like u walked into a BDSM latex party and u just ain't into that. BDSM and latex ain't for everybody. For some it even sounds horrible bc of pain and textures and what not, in a similar fashion, death grips is doing their own thing and we just happen to be the audience but they don't seem too concerned about us getting what they doin. Some love to be there, some feel like they walked into the wrong room.
honestly ... this is probably the most underrated album in their entire discography, absolute masterpiece. like, I'm okay if they never make another album again if this is their final contribution to music.
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS MY GUY a few recommendations: Process - Sampha (experimental r&b, great production) Nurture - Porter Robinson (light summer electric with fun production) Koi No Yokan - Deftones (very heavy, sexier and heavier radiohead imo) Hypochondriac - Brakence (very experimental emo rap, glitch pop) Reading Writing And Arithmetic - The Sundays (the smiths ish, with beautiful female vocals)
